Well got everything torqued down injectors are in and most of the fuel lines are on. Little more tinkering and she should be ready for a test fire

Copy that thank you!

So I am torquing the heads down everything is going smooth so far. After a few searches I couldn't find anything for a torque spec on the rocker assembly. Anybody know what it should be? Also is there any little details to look out For maybe seals or tidbits of advice

If you ever end up in Plattsburgh try a cruise by the projects on south Peru Street. That road is cut up and patched so many times it will shake you out of the cab. I work for the NYSDOT bridge department. The equipment we have is minimal towards getting any task done. Some of the interstate bridges in this area can be rough on trucks because the approach slabs sunk years after they were built one really shitty one is southbound by Keeseville.

This whole concept reminds me of "Demolition Man" self driving cars, Taco Bell is every restaurant... cryogenic prisons and nobody gets their feelings hurt.

I guess the foot length of 4130 was a tad overkill then! I could have a few more cut if anybody needs them.

He's been sitting at a local junkyard for ages. B42s 8.15 rears 20 speed. Thought about buying it for some time cab is in good shape

Would those work in a 673? Been thinking about getting rid of the 24v system and electric start.

My new bushing washers are getting cut tomorrow I am thinking 3 inches should be long enough with a quarter inch on top for a washer
-
for future reference when I called Watts I was told if it isn't on the website (for B model) they don't have it. Jobbers looked but I assume they didn't find anything for dowels or special washers.
-
10-4 thank you

I am having washer/bushings made for the corner studs anybody have a suggestion on type of metal to use?
-
it's the small details that make you feel the dumbest. The other head does not need the dowels because there are holes drilled in the head for the dowels in the deck. My good buddy is going to fabricate some reducing washers for me problem solved!

Well looks like gettingbthembout of the 711 without ruining them is out if the question. Is there a proper name for them?
-
One thing to do tomorrow is pulling a head off my 711 to see if it has those brass pieces, and if watts doesn't have those washers I will have them made. These were things I hoped to find second hand as jobbers is far from budget friendly.
-
Well I ran into another silly roadblock. My heads have these brass inserts to center them on the deck, one head was lacking them and it needs the special washers for the larger corner studs. Would anybody happen to know where to get these? I tried searching the forum but turned up nothing. Good news, plowing OT is on the way and I have a stack on the old girl now.

68khf3121p8 is the number on the longer axleshafts, don't know if that helps anyone

I have no idea what it came out of, hasn't been in a truck since I got it. When I bought my b61 he tossed that in to sweeten the deal (or get it out of the way). From the bucket of parts he gave me with it I can't say for certain it is complete. But I know for a fact there is no pushrods or rockers in it... must be buried in his shop
-
Excellent, that is great news. I can buy a set next week opposed to after Christmas.

When you called the good folks at Watt's Mack (1-888-304-6225), what did they say on availability ?
Mack Part-no. 553GB3266B - Cylinder head gasket applicable to EN707, END(T)673 and END711 with 20 stud cylinder heads
Mack Part-no. 3029-8213C (replaced 553GB3267C) - Cylinder head gasket applicable to EN707, END(T)673 and END711 with 18 stud cylinder heads
Doing a quick google search on 3029-8213C the prices range from $140 to $250 for a pair, some of them giving an option for 18 or 20 stud with or without fire rings for an e6. I know nothing about the e6 but from the pictures they appear to be the same as my 673 N/A gaskets.
-
Jobbers Inc also has them, same price.
-
If it came down to it I suppose it could be parted out
-
Indeed, different setup compared to my 673
