  1. My White had the bolt together rims (coure it spent it's life hauling trailers full of L.I. potatos to N.Y.C.)and was given advice from a few older tire guys to dump them. Guess I got some so so advice. Paul
  2. AVOID. The one piece split rims that bolt together as extremly dangerious. The bolt fails and the rim comes apart...generally at speed. Best advice is to replace them with the 3 piece split rims and cut the old one pieces up. Paul
  3. Looks like a good solid starting point. Does that have the bolted split rims on it? Paul
  4. Electronic is the way to go.You'll find easier starting and smoother running with the electronic ignition over points system. Mopar points will fail rapidly if your ballest resister is failing. They will burn the points before they fail. We always carried an extra ballest resistor with Mother Mopars. I would go for one of 2 set ups,Mopar electronic kit or the Perlux electronic points elimator kit. Paul
  5. My projects.B model Mixer, AC Crane
  6. I woulda thought so after all if they were faster or slower the chair wouldn't hit them. I added enough "damages" to my truck to make up for the 30% and got a new agent for all my insurance. I wish I coulda done the other stuff..but not truck = no money. No money makes momma mad!!! I think we can all thank the lawyers for our fine situation we got today.
  7. Sounds like the lawyers are catching up with the insurance companies. I got hit dead square in the third axle by a kid who had his licence 1 day. He went across 2 lanes, the grass median and 1 more lane to hit me. After all was said and done my insurance company told me I was 30% at fault. Semms if I was going slower ,or faster ,or on a different road I wouldn't hace been hit. Fought with their decision but never got anywhere.....seems the firm Dewey Rookem and Howe went from insurance to bill board advertising for $$$. Paul
  8. It was for sale in 2009 don't know if it sold. here is it's link http://www.bandagbullet.com/titan.htm Here is the video link.
  9. That is a joint project by BAE Systems and Navistar it's a Joint Light Tactical Vehicle ment to eventually replace the HUMVEE in forward combat areas. Paul
  10. HMMMMM wonder how the fishin is there?? Paul
  11. Thanks for the info...sure glad its not asian. Renault...dalphines, le cars...oh my Paul
  12. Part of the problem with the manufacturing / service industry (aside from cost verses profit) is that they have been EPAed and OSHA'd to death. The idiocy goes right down to the local level. I was told by the inspector for my fire insurance on my shop the my Alternators and Starters had to be in fire proof cabinets or my policy would be cancelled. When asked why ,I was informed that there could be an electrical fire from them...My question to them was please explain how the could catch fire? I was told there are "x' number of vehicle electical fires every year ,so that's why. I think if the goverment used common sense( ) and curtailed most of the 'good' rules to save us from our own selves we could be competitive again. Paul
  13. This is from one of the trade papers. Does this affect Mack Trucks? As predicted various times on TTAC, Volvo has finally been sold to China. Ford said in a statement that it had agreed to all substantial commercial terms in a deal to sell Volvo to China’s Geely Holding Group, parent of Geely Auto, Reuters has on the wire. “While some work still remains to be completed before signing, Ford and Geely anticipate that a definitive sale agreement will be signed in the first quarter of 2010,” Ford said. Final closing on the deal is expected for Q2 of 2010. Volvo changes hands for an estimated $1.8b. This makes it by far the largest overseas acquisition by a Chinese automaker. Ford is getting a nice chunk of money for its cash hemorrhaging Volvo unit, they are selling Volvo whole, not piecemeal as in Saab and GM.
  14. Haven't used it yet. I'm still sorting out electrical issues and replacing broken cab mounts. The /fifth wheel is gone and a Garwood winch and gin pole are going on. Near as I can tell the cab was replaced so that is why the tag specs don't gibe. The heavier units are actuall a plus. Paul
  15. My 1969 DM800 has these on the rear and "flat" GM style 8 spokes on the steer. Are they Mack CL350 wheels? Were they an option on my DM? Never saw them before. Paul
  16. Lets not forget the other "benifits"........Since my 63 Corvan has no airbags, crumple zone or anti collision devices and I could get seriously injured.... it is bad for my health so lets make ie illegal. My Ruger could hurt someone...bad for their health so lets make it illegal too. Micky D's...no good, Caffine...nope get rid of that too. Everything deemed " bad for your health " can now be eliminated with the battle cry of health care. Truely a sad sad day. Paul T Cheshire
  17. THanks all! This seems to be a great group here and I look forward to being here. Paul
