  1. Hey everyone. I am looking for a set of the rl700l emblems for the side of my hood. I lost one and the stud that the little nut screws on broke off the other side. I just repainted the fiberglass hood so I would love for her to shine and show off! haha THANKS Scott
  2. Hey everyone! Needing some help. I have a 74' RL700L with the ENDT 676 Baker in it and the maxitorque 12 speed. I was hauling the other day and lost 3rd Direct gear. Will go into gear once RPM's drop but as soon as you go to accelerate it just spins. I drained oil and found a chunk of metal in drain plug. I was hoping to put some heavier oil (85-140) in it. I had 80-90 in it and temps got up to 200 degrees pulling about 2k feet in elevation. Does anyone know if I can bolt an 18 speed behind this motor or am I pretty much stuck with the 12 speed? Thanks in advance!
  3. Paddy Boy from this forum is who owned the truck before me. He sent me a message on here. I bought the truck on Richie Bro's auction.
  4. Yeah for sure. It is my only truck so when it's down that's money I'm not making. As far as not having brakes, the truck has front brakes so not sure what the N means.
  5. Doubleclutchinweasel, I finally had a chance to check out my steer axle and the fa number is not listed on that sheet you posted. FA(W)532N is what mine is stamped
  6. I am no expert by no means. Do you have any pictures? I just did a power steering conversion on my 74' RL700. My gear box has 2 ports. 1 pressure and one return. I will try and help if you haven't gotten it yet.
  7. Awesome! Thank you for the chart. I will look at the axle for the marking to see what it is.
  8. I'm in search of part numbers or where to get tie rod ends for my dump truck. Does Mack have an updated part number? I have a moog part number ES431R, is this the correct time rod end? I have tried Watt's with no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! VIN # RL786LST24497
  9. I did a conversion to full power steering on my dump truck. I need the part numbers to the ball studs for the pitman arm and spindle. Could anyone help me out with this please? VIN RL786LST24497
  10. Yes that is exactly what it is. Do they still make those or do you recommend rebuilding the one I have?
  11. It's hydraulic. I bought the truck on auction so I'm not sure if this system is original or not. It has a power steering pump that is gear driven behind the air compressor on the passenger side of the truck. Four lines go to the cylinder that's connected to the pitman arm which is attached to the steering gear box. Two hoses from this cylinder go to the cylinder under the truck that runs parallel with the cross member. VIN is RL786LST24497
  12. It leaks like a son of a gun. Both do. I'm going to take them off today and see if I can get seals to rebuild them.
  13. Yes it is a hydraulic system using a cylinder off of the pitman arm with 4 hoses attached, then another cylinder underneath by cross member with 2 hoses attached. I will take some pictures in the morning. Thanks for the help!
  14. I am looking for a place to get new power steering cylinders for my 1974 Mack RL700L. Or does anyone know if they have an updated kit for the power steering?
  15. Thanks guys! I will continue to use 80-90 then.
  16. Hi everyone, I bought a 74 RL700L dump truck a few months ago on auction and am looking to get a little bit more info on it. I live in Colorado and use it daily to haul. It has the 10spd maxitorque transmission in it. I talked with the dealer they told me to put 80-90 gear oil in tranny. I am also putting the same weight oil in the differentials. Does the diffs require a thicker oil. I am hauling around 50k-55k gvw and changing about 4000ft in elevation. I've read on here some guys are using 85-140. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated. I am also looking to see where I can get a service manual for the truck. Thanks - Scott
  17. So check the pressure of the line that feeds the air to the selector?
  18. I took the selector apart and replaced an o ring because it was leaking air. After I did that is when I have the problem.
  19. I changed o rings and now air is coming out of exhaust port and hole in bottom of cylinder. What am I doing wrong?
  20. What weight oil should go in the transmission?
  21. Steve L could you do me a favor and explain or show me a picture of what the gear box shift cylinder is please? Thank you
  22. I forgot to mention the hose for the port On the front left wasn't connected to anything underneath on the tranny. Would that be the exhaust port? That is where all the air is consistantly coming out.
  23. Hi all, I'm new to this forum but I need some help. I just bought a 74 Western RL700l dump truck. It has a 10 speed maxitorque transmission with a PTO on the side. The side of the tranny has D107 on it. The selector has D, L, N, R. It is not moving out of N. The selector moves freely but the transmission is not coming out of N. The air hose to the top left blows a lot of air out all the time. Do you think something is stuck? I'm lost, replaced the O ring on the innards of the selector, the one that goes over the port holes. There are four ports on the back, one on the top right, and on the top left on the bottom not on the wall like the others. Any help would be appreciated!
