    In it's day the FDNY super pumper was another feat of engineering. yrs back i spent a week in Allentown (Mack) FD training course. the super pumper was part of a "set". along with the super pumper was it's mate a super tender. don't remember specs (along with much more) today. heard yrs back of a separation, don't know if it was the pumper separated or the pumper and tender separated.

    7 pin wire connection I would assume you are referring to a light plug socket. ? is it mounted or tied behind crossmember ? reason asking is to determine how far factory trailer set up you have. are there capped off air lines or an air valve near light plug or along frame ? ? don't think on that new a truck they even use a trolly valve any more . can you access behind the dash to see the red knob checking for capped line . seeing /knowing what you have is a strong determinization of how it is connected. tractor/ trailer protection valve needed?? glad hands or quick connectors for trailer air there or needed ??

    guess it would depend on the vehicle they are being installed on. back then ==days of the dayton wheel ; the outer rim was many times painted color of the unit. inner flat usually painted gray/ silver. first picture a split ring on alum ?? that's a setup needing excellent maintenance. steel against alum.

    and greatly appreciated from this end is the fact you came back to let the BMT forum know the solution ; which not many do.

    had to look twice !! not just a different paint job. R-700 turned into a superliner !! real nice job. as a work truck looks doubtful as a rat rod or an R-600 having a dog house in cab .???? don't have all specs on a 3406 = 6 vs 8 have any positives ?? weight/ HP / size ??3406 more then likely to long ?

    it had TWO dead batteries and you replaced ONE, this indicate you charged one didn't replace ?? with one new and one "used" battery;; is it spinning fast enough for a proper start? fire equipment usually had ? have dual start systems . only two batteries in this unit ??

    are you talking a show truck or this plan for a work truck or as you say ;; it's all about the learning conversation.

    time allows, I have to find the box of truck pictures taken with a CAMERA from Englishtown NJ truck races back in the '80's. there were some coach buses having automatic transmissions that were racing == staying on topic. I know there are a few pictures of Gerosa M series Macks; some one on here while back was asking about.

    being on the outside looking in ; a large number of questions would be asked :: 1- is this a work truck or show truck? 2- what items are currently available for change over ?? 3- how far does the $$$$bank account support such a venture. ??? and few more questions of similar nature. an R-700 would be truck of choice; air bag assist under front axle/ frame or heavier axle would help weight concerns. what's a couple more bucks ! one heck of a fabricating/ body shop would help also. those who can make a B model "rat rod" could surely plant a V-8 cat in an R-600!!!

    looking at that gray plastic = which looks like junk vs the shown replacement , answers my question regarding removal of push in relacing with threaded fitting (shown in white replacement) .

    this CT construction topic has brain cells activated ,remembered another one today ; now I'm drawing a blank on his last name. a light blue single axle U-600 (685 or 611) tractor converted to light dump. Suburban construction ?? . Al ??? he was a retired State Trooper ' nice person. then there was ALLAN Beard with the fancy Black DM's .

    yrs back had a friend (also a Mack A-40owner) who worked at shiavonie, never knew what was going to be dropped off at my garage -10ton floor jack =rebuild kit some paint == it looked/ worked brand new.. hd torch cart ' complete 4ft propane cutting torch kit so much more. the good fun days. arute things did go to scrap yard and Yaworski saved stuff ??

    glad you wrote cyl locks in up mode;; I almost went to far space with a suggestion of putting cyl on up side down which I never heard of== but. basically you covered any practical solution. it's not a complicated system or it shouldn't be.,,

    Richards hyd canvas ?? any real benefit to the hyd rear gate?? bet that's the next one for company red/white paint job

    getting to topic; hopefully Connecticut construction trucks will get some new added pictures of days gone by. I frequently go back to page one and start over. so many positive memories. who would have known you should have carried a camera . possibly the only time I would have used a cell phone . the long list of trucks that ran these CT roads never getting their picture taken.

    are you saying the manifold isn't just an alum block with multi threaded ports having removable fittings/lines any more ??one goes bad ; cut the line close remove fitting / install new fitting then push in plastic line ??

    well in a world of technicality ;; you DID NOT specify the fact the brake handle was disconnected and only there to fill the hole in floor!! Gee what's this world coming toooo .LOL and wrong again ::only ONE of the tubs was a Mack; other two off brand. had to have one reliable craft to support other two.

    NOW there are some sick puppies on here;; AND I'M GLAD . I make sure to write entire word transmission so as NOT to write normally trans and confuse some of the "demented " minds here (myself included )LOL . now added to the list of complete communications is DETROIT DEISEL not DD which I'm all in favor of also LMAO.

    Boy don't I know ;; before mid'60's = by then I was closing in on teen yrs, mother got my attention == was called wooden hangers over my back. today that's called child abuse. to get kids attention today ; they are bought a new cell phone.
