  1. Did you bleed system before starting engine? I have heard bad tales about bleeding while running, so I always left engine off till all the air was gone. A vacuum pump is right handy for this job.
  2. BVH truck show will be this Saturday May 4 at Super Duty Truck Parts located on north end of Newark, Ohio. Everybody welcome even if you just have a hand truck. Starts when first truck gets there and ends when last truck leaves. I plan on taking the integral sleeper B61 with Holmes wrecker (red, white and rust). Look me up if you are connected with this forum - H67 this is close for you. We need to talk about your rears cause it is about dry enough to get wrecker back to truck I need to move. Over & out from Ignorant Ridge Tom
  3. Larry, this one is for you if I can get it posted
  4. Larry, did you really have to post AOC on here? I realize you might not know it but I have PTSD - Pretty Tired of Stupid Democrats !!!!!!!!!! God that woman makes me insane plus a bunch of others. Paul, your land problem isn't limited to that area of VA. My first 20 years were in Southwest VA - heavy farming area, bunch of old hardheaded farmers, extreme conservative. As the kids grew up and moved to other corners of the earth, the farms went up for sale, then subdivided AND. Here come the liberals from VPI and Radford College and all their bs ideas. My last visit last summer made me sick - the attitude is so bad you can smell it. Good luck with your problem but I'm afraid the DC swamp has oozed enough to cover most of what was a conservative state 50 years ago.
  5. Still too wet to get wrecker around back to pull first truck out of way. Concrete and rock are a rare commodity out here on Ignorant Ridge. But mud - now that's a different story!!! Keep us posted on what you find at local shop.
  6. My info claims Road Kings were built 1939-40. That bed had seen a lot of business before it landed on the Dodge!
  7. Is that a Holmes 525 on the Dodge Bros.?
  8. Front axle is setting upside down on the truck frame. There is a truck on either side and behind. Need to tow back truck out to get loader in to front axle to set upright. Has been raining here for last 11 months so moving any thing around here is impossible right now.
  9. All of these trucks were in the B Model Registry early on. Think they even sent a calendar with all the trucks on it
  10. I looked at rears today. SWDL56, 4.50 ratio, long power divider (not air lock), 18 bolt, aluminum brake chamber mounts for pan cake type chambers not roto chambers (but, one mount is broken). They are complete from one end to other less brake chambers.
  11. Sorry, I clear forgot to look at rears. Had such a joyful day burning brush piles!! Will try to look tomorrow. No idea on condition - they were included in a disassembled truck I bought
  12. I think there may be a set of 4.50, 10 bolt here but not with long power divider
  13. Folks, we need to give Barry Holden a big hand!! If you notice on the home page, he has dedicated a tab at the top of page to the B Model Registry. Once you click on it, you can get to the registry plus a lot more info that I dug out of sales literature. There is still more to send to him, so keep checking from time to time. The old web site that all this info was on was discontinued for some reason. I'm grateful to Barry for posting all this again so everybody can learn more about their ride. Sent a personal note to Barry and thank him for this addition. I have noticed the times on messages he has sent here and I'm starting to think he lives at Watt's Mack. Not often you have a employee willing to put in that much time! Over & out from Ignorant Ridge, Tom
  14. My B615 had that switch and found a brand new one years ago to replace old. If I think of it, i'll look tomorrow to see if name on it.
  15. Thanks Barry. I am just about ready to start sending all the other files for posting. Makes me feel better having all this back out where everybody can find it again!
  16. You guys must live in a sour part of the country. Down here we rag each other all time during grain season. Then it starts all over when its time to haul fertilizer
  17. I have sent the updated 2018 B Model Registry to Barry and he has set it up for this site. I have not been able to find a direct link to it but type in "bigmacktrucks.com/registry/2018.pdf" and it should show up. As before, any corrections or additions will have to be sent to me for insertion. Please send to 2gannaways@mynewera.net. We hope to get all the other info from old site listed on this site. This has been a long time coming so we hope you enjoy it. Any mistakes you find, please send corrections to me. Over & out from Ignorant Ridge (home of toxic masculinity) Tom
  18. I put 4 ozs. of ISO 32 hydraulic in 5 gallons of ag fuel this morning. It seems to be a little slicker. Also put 1/2 oz. of 405-C conditioner in 5 gallon and didn't feel much difference BUT application rate for that stuff is 1 gallon per 3000 gallons fuel. So I didn't expect to tell such difference.
  19. How often you have to clean crap out of boxes with that many dogs? How you doing man? Long time no hear!
  20. Thanks for all the replies!! Has anyone pulled a sample of their fuel after mixing Power Service to see if you can feel any lubricity to the mixture. I need to do this test myself after adding hydraulic oil. Back in my pup days, if you got fuel on hands, you couldn't get it off - just spread it around more. Now you can wash hands in fuel and wipe it off ( I don't think rags are any better now). If I remember in morning, I'll try adding oil to see if it feels any different. Then, in the words of Willie Cunningham (Cincinnati radio joker} - "I'll give you a full report"
  21. Interesting topic since I suffered a problem other day. The old B model boom truck decided it wasn't going to fire up one morning. Little investigating - rack in pump was stuck. No problem - little pecking and prying and it should come loose, right? Nope, required more investigating (ripping off right fender) and got good look at pump with side cover off. Number 5 plunger was stuck up. To shorten the story, my pump man allows that a plunger stuck in up position can bind up the rack. First time I ever had a plunger stuck, most likely due to DDF (damn dry fuel). So all these expensive additives you guys are talking about, what about 1 quart of cheap Rural King hydraulic oil per 50 gallons of fuel? Too much or too little? Yep it might add a little more carbon but a couple hours at 70 mph ought to blow most of it out. There is quite a few old diesels with in line pumps around this place so I need to add something to fuel. Everybody jump in and give me your opinions, please! Over & out from Ignorant Ridge
  22. I used a B 53 Sheppard ps box on the old wide body. Took a bit of doing - redrill the frame, make spacers, make new steer column and fab up a drag link. Was worth the effort cause the old gal was next to impossible to make a right turn in town
  23. Fine looking ride!! Where did you get the Pertsman style mirror arms?
  24. Drag your brake valve down to local truck parts joint. They should be able to match as near as possible with what is currently in production - if they got an old book. Did this on the old wide body B wrecker and got one fairly close - little plumbing rearrangement and we can almost stop again.
  25. HugeHugh, Now that you are getting air leaks all stopped up and system pressure is coming up where it should be - just sit around and wait for the wiper valve to start leaking (don't mean to rain on your parade). Mine pulled that trick and with wiper motor mounted on inside of firewall, it is a challenge to get out. With trifocals and stiff neck and gear sticks in way, I had to stop several times to invent new language suitable for the task at hand. But after the second disassembly, I got all the leak stopped so there is hope. Although I still have one nerve still pinched in my neck, it was worth it.
