  1. Yes. I did it awhile ago actually. It does make a difference. Installed a 10k potentiometer and run it at about 6k.
  2. Bought a Mack reman eecu and the dealer can't flash from my old eecu to the new one. They tried module to module and downloading from Mack. They have no idea as to why it won't program. So, I now have an $1100 useless metal brick. Any ideas as to why this is happening? An issue between the datalink, vecu, and the eecu?
  3. Thank you. I'll try the relay as well. And just say no to scotch lock. Lol
  4. Bummer. I'm still going to add the new ground to number 35 on the plug just to see but I won't be surprised if it doesn't work. Thank you!
  5. 2000 cx613 Not only do I have the common problem of losing all of my gauges; I also lose data to my J link. No rhyme or reason. Cold or hot. Sitting still. I've replaced the cluster and the power wiring harness to no avail. Any ideas? I've read the service bulletin about adding a new ground wire to the plug on the instrument cluster but will that also solve the data port problem as well?
  6. Would this problem also cause a loss of data on the j link? I lose all information on the dash and the data port.
  7. I know it's been a couple of years but I have the same problem on a 2000 E7-460. Runs perfect at startup but after warm up and driving it has a misfire at idle and pops smoke. No smoke when driving other than when grabbing gears. Cx613 last 8 of vin yw005685 if you wouldn't mind looking to see if it's been updated? Greatly appreciate it!
  8. The guy doing 612 is on a 427. I know it made mine a completely different truck. I've been told that the 427 program would make my 460 pull better.
  9. Anyone ever try fooling the IAT sensor with a resistor to trick the ecu into thinking it's really cold to increase fuel output from the eup's? Magnum Tuning claims 15%increase in power with their tuner and that's all that it does. It installs between the sensor and the ecu tricking it into thinking the intake air temperature is colder than what it is. I understand the theory of why that would increase fuel output but was wondering if anyone has tried it. 2000 cx613 460 w/ 096 nozzles and 171702 turbo. Currently at 464 rwhp

  11. So; i realize this is an old thread as well, but I have a 2000 460 that I had Antirm Diesel crank up. 096 tipped injectors and a 171702 turbo. She's putting 464 to the ground and that's anemic when compared to what others are getting out of their etech. I've seen 612 rwhp on their Dyno. Rochester Diesel claims there is a guy in NJ doing over 700. This all being said; it isn't cheap but you can definitely make your 98-01 E-7 bark.
  12. Yep. Thedieselstore.com for $265. I still get the 8-6 code from time to time with no difference in how the engine is running. My mack dealer told me it wasn't necessary to put the calibration codes into the computer unless I have an issue. I'm going to wait until I do the other 4 pumps and then have them put the codes in anyways. I am getting an ignition knock(not all of the time) at an idle.
  13. So, I changed 2 and 6. No problems! Yesterday, an 8-6 code started intermittently popping up. Before it was an 8-2, that's why I changed number 2 to see if that code would go away. Figured if it didn't, I had a wiring issue. I never got a 8-6 but I changed it because there was fuel leaking around that one. No change in engine performance when the code pops up. 20 year old wiring harness perhaps?
  14. Hopefully the eup's I ordered from thedieselstore.com are the right ones. As long as they send me what I ordered they should be. My local Mack dealer showed me a Mack website where you can download the manuals for free. Pretty handy! Thanks for all your help!!
  15. Ok. Thank you. I found online where you can download the manuals for free. I just needed the 5-106. Mutch appreciated!
  16. I have 1.7 million miles on my E7 with original eup's. Number 6 and 5 are starting to leak and I'm getting an intermittent number 2 flash code. I'm gonna go ahead and replace all 6 and am looking for the proper procedure. Can anyone help with that?
  17. www.thedieselstore.com has Bosch reman for $265. No up front core charge.
  18. I know this is 2 years later but I'm responding for others that might find this thread. Www.thedieselstore.com has the mack unit pumps for $265. Other sites and Mack want $450-500.
