  1. Hello, I am needing advice on replacing kingpin bushings on a '04 CH613 with a 12,000# spicer steer axle. Can you drive these bushings in or do you have to press them and if so, what kind of press do I need? I also need to replace shackle bushings. Just wondering what special tools may be needed. Also not sure how kingpin comes out. Looks like it may have a cap on top-couldn't really tell much from just looking at it. Thanks, Trey.
  2. rhasler, thanks for the info. I'll check monday to see if that kit is still available. Might be able to save some $$$.
  3. I have a '04 CH613 with an AC 427. I recently started having problems with the air compressor. It seems like the unloader valve(I think that is what it is called) started sticking. Usually it works fine but sometimes just won't start building air. I tried spraying WD-40 in the line coming from the governor and shot some air in trying to clean it up. This seemed to help for about a month but it started doing it again last night. Seems like I've seen on here where a certain air compressor around this year model had this problem and I was wondering if I have the same model and if there is a rebuild kit for it or if it just needs to be replaced. A new one from my Mack dealer was around $1400 and was cheaper than any I could find from an aftermarket dealer. I'm tired of worrying about it and was wondering if anyone on here could help or have any information. the vin# is 1M1AA18Y14N155523. Thanks in advance. Trey
  4. It's allready been mentioned, but I've seen a few on daycabs.com.
  5. Thanks Randy! After the day I've had I needed a good laugh. Funniest stuff I've heard in a while!
  6. This may sound stupid, but I had a bad motor mount and when I turned the steering wheel the fan would hit the radiator shroud. Didn't move much but just enough to make a noise.
  7. Another Pete trying to keep up with a Mack!
  8. I used to work for an implement company with a 3 axle. I was told on uneven off-roads with a crown the 3 axle tracked better because the 2 axle duals is so narrow just the inside duals carried the load a lot of the time and was a lot less stable.
  9. You know, I really don't like all this emissions on trucks these days, but it's here to stay. On the plus side these new engines are good for the environment and maybe will satisfy all the tree huggers. I look at it like the passenger cars in the late 70's and early 80's. They had vacuum hoses everywhere and were a nightmare to work on. It wasn't long before most of the crap didn't work or people would by-pass it. Unfortunately that's not an option on trucks now, nor would you want to face the consequences if you got caught. The emissions on passenger cars is not a concern anymore since they figured it all out which I think is how trucks will be a few years from now. They'll eventually get it straightened out and it won't be an issue anymore, although I wouldn't really want a new one now(even if I could afford one!).
  10. Just an idea, have you tried replacing the relay with a known good one? I'm wondering if the relay could be stuck.
  11. On pre-'07 Granites it is on the tank on firewall right in front of driver's seat. New Granites (MP-) engines it is on the tank above the radiator. It's the tank on both where you fill it up with coolant.
  12. I have never used this but have heard of it. A friend used it and was very impressed. Just have had trouble finding it.
  13. Relax guys, King Obama is gonna fix everything. He just needs time to bow down and kiss more ass.
  14. I love it! Hope we can survive 2 more years.
