  1. How was the seating/clamping area made? I want to use the stock rear hubs on my truck.
  2. Does anyone know of a reputable shop that has the capability to make one "13 wide 22.5 Dayton wheel that will take the place of a set of rear dual 22.5's. I want to run Super Singles on the rear of my old B20 project but retain the Daytons. I know it can be done, just need to find a shop with a big enough lathe to cut up the stock 22.5's so they can be sectioned. Any ideas?
  3. I may be up your way (Altoona) in the next week or so. Any chances of a heat wave?
  4. We set a record of 83 today, didn't hurt my feelings a bit. It was 19 and icy just a few days ago. They are forecasting large hail and possible tornadoes late tonight. There is an old saying in Texas "If you don't like the weather just wait a few minutes"
  5. Thanks, it was actually about 79 degrees when that was taken earlier today, but the wind was blowing 30+ mph. My wife took the video, she really likes the old truck.
  6. I got the old EN291 unstuck after sitting for many years. Surprisingly after a little tweaking the little flathead six runs really good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=at0U_nRm_d8
  7. We did extensive testing before we switched to B20 in August of '06. The HFRR lubricity testing we did showed substantially better lubricity than LSD and ULSD. I have the actual test results filed in my office at work . Another thing we noticed was the stacks were noticeably cleaner under load, sometimes you couldn't even tell it was a diesel the stacks burned so clean. The only reason we are now using ULSD diesel now is because our division ended up being part of a previously purchased fuel hedge. I don't have enough data yet to verify, but we seem to using more fuel since switching to ULSD this past October. We normally average 87K gallons a month, this past Oct. and Nov. were both a little over 90K usage.
  8. My vote is for the late great Bettie Page
  9. We ran B20 in our locomotives for a year and a half with no problems, we were very pleased with it. You have to be careful where it is coming from though as some suppliers do not keep their tanks clean. We recently were forced to switch to ULSD to which we add a lubricity enhancer.
  10. I kinda like the original look myself, gives them character. That museum package is great isn't it. I received the pack for my truck last week, well worth a decent donation to the museum.
  11. Thanks for the link Freightrain. I really like that truck, similar to what I have planned for mine.
  12. Looks great, I wish you were closer I'd try and talk you out of those running boards and rear fenders.
  13. Sometimes you can find the culprit by putting a little air pressure on the fuel tank. If it's an external line or grommet it will usually show up pretty quickly. Just don't go overboard with the pressure, 10 to 20 psi should be plenty. This new ULSD is very dry and is causing a lot of hose and seal issues, especially on older equipment.
