  1. Styling change! You mean the new bowtie, dog bone grill and inferior interior to the Rawhide option. As stated a new longer hood, big bore and bigger cooling system- now thats a change. Come on Corporate Mack-get some (Zern Hanson balls) and get tough with the Swven overlords. Design a new Mack conventional on your own and sell it to Volvo. Real Mack change would add to the Volvo bottom line. Volvo is really clueless when it comes to designing an American conventional aka KW, Pete, Star, Freightliner and IH/Volkswagon. And maybee Acar in the future. Take the Volvo 880 for example. Talk about disappearing with its tail between its legs.
  2. Paccar has it down pat. New Superliner would qualify.
  3. F model was just an N model growed taller. I feel the Bud cab influenced the F model. Look at the window area. Kind of like the Diamond-T Emeryville similarities.
  4. Its funny- after market mechinics can figure out how to put a big bore engine in a CH but Volvo/Mack can't ( more likely won't). Loosing out on heavy haul, lowboy and trailer dump markets.
  5. Mack needs an American company to step up and take this great name away from Volvo. Cat Deere (must be loaded with cash as stock price is over 400 dollars) Oskosh etc.
  6. Lets see. Uglier than an Anthem. Anthems can look sharp if done up right. Mack needs a competetive big bore Pinnacle.
  7. Still trying to figure out what Coca Cola LJ Mack colors has to do with this popular thread. This thread has gone far afield. But thats ok
  8. Yes VCO was the inspiration for Emeryville
  9. While watching Jacks Chrome shop on You Tube, I learned that Diamond-T was the designer of the IH Emmeryville COE. I guess Mack being owned by Chrysler wouldn't have turned out so well either. John Deere Oskosh or Cat might have been a good fit. Cat owns a giant diesel manufacturer from Germany called MAK
  10. I guess the origin of the 921 and 931 were Diamond T designs. Who designed the Diamond Reo cab over(Royal I believe) when White was at the helm?
  11. Is this a Diamond-T design and build in house
  12. Seems like V**&&%/Mack should have solved the injector cup Issues by now. Is it so?
  13. To bad Deere doesn't own DDC. Penske sold them down the river to Diamler
  14. Looks like Diamond-T and Sterling may have used the same cab in this era
  15. While looking at the ATHS website under the Mack pictures section I saw something odd. It was a U model mack for yellow transportation. Must have been one of a kind.🙂
  16. I see the term high hood R models from time to time. Are these west coast models, heavy front spring models or perhaps old style hood RD's (such as 1989-1990)🙂
  17. Mechaholic: If I remember right all of the Tilcon DMM's were tri axle. They had these after the DM 800's. See ex Tilcon Macks from time to time
  18. Does Volvo have the rights to Brockway trucks? 🙂I wonder if they would sell?
  19. I was trying to find out where the Mack cab overs were fabricated. In house, Orville Sheller Globe etc.
