  1. My only post to this. Websites are privately owned and governed as such.
  2. I removed it back in September/October. Here is about the same thread I posted on my main forum I vist. https://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/threads/mack-phase-two.75422/
  3. FBGNO-Thanks for the interest-the hoods are in the paint shop-but the body guy had a family issue with his new born grandson which was born way premature. Which far out weighs anything else, my work can wait. Looks like around Jan 1st before I get them back. The thread is a couple pages back called {Near the End} Thanks Freightrain!
  4. Spicer discontinued almost every part if not all for the 83 series auxiliary gear boxes, right along with that 70-8-56 part number. I do have a source and he is looking to see if he might {I say might have one}. If any of you guys run on to any 8341's you might want to snag it if the price is right--just for this reason.

  7. Probably just have to match something up at a hardware store that has a big assortment of springs.
  8. Very nice work, I can understand the the organizing of parts and when needed to be able keep moving straight ahead.
  9. The 289 in this photo of a custom CJ3B I built in the 80's was a prime example of a completely crusted engine inside. It had 85,000 miles on it, came out of a 66 4dr Fairlane. The bore stroke on a 289 is 4"x 2 3/4" and will taper bad with a bunch of ridge, this one barely cleaned up at .040 over on it's first bore, it still had a few smileys in the bore but were not in the ring travel area. But 289's and 302's were good engines.
  10. All of that said-what kind of white/gray teflon goo was in the bottom of the oil pan? I would be willing to bet if the intake was removed you would find a layer or brick of carbon/sludge under there. I worked auto machine years ago-machined tons of ford blocks and heads of all types along with every other engine type. The oils in those days were full of teflon and it separated out real quick especially with short distance driving and aided in a crust forming in areas of low oil flow. I have removed valve covers and intakes from engines that had what would be another valve cover underneath that was solid crust same in the lifter galley. The bad thing is {I would bet} the cam and lifters are getting tired {probably can't even remove lifters without vise gripes and a case of carb clean}. Now that rear main leak-small block fords with manual transmissions/clutch have a tendency to wear the main shaft thrust bearings when oil is really filthy, and a many engines back then suffered from that problem. So you will want to check the crank real good, Plus the valve stem umbrella seals are probably cracked or broken to bits. 1965 has a good idea.
  11. I came back to post the end results of my work on the B75 I've been thrashing on. Mainly because some on here really wanted to see the finished product.
  12. That doesn't look like the hood was extended as much as a repair to the ends of the hood where the welting wore through the metal.
  13. And some more trivia-the house in the back ground beyond the horse, the barn and portable loading shute is Chet Taylors. I know your saying who the hell is Chet Taylor. Chet Taylor father of Mickey Taylor the owner of the Seattle Slew. I know- so what.
  14. That's not a 1960 Pete, those were built from 1952 to 1956. And pretty rare, I don't remember the model IIRC it's a 280. That was a west coast truck and originally built for a freight company in the bay area. I knew the ornery old fart that owned the one below a 1955, owned by Bob Shore-he was SDA ornery as hell-wore bibs with a chain drive hat. The one photo with a load of hay is when Bob owned it after he died it was sold and is pictured below at a Brooks Or show.

  19. Walla Walla, paint is getting tired and interior needs some work but not bad condition, 220 and 10sp. With the possibility of it being for sale.
  20. I think I still have the lower section and manual box from my B75 if any one is interested or could possibly use it. Free.
  21. Scatter shield or horse blanket keeps your feet from looking like the guy who drove the Swamp Rat.
