PAI makes a lower price aftermarket. Part #FSU-0485.

Try to find a fixed (vs. variable) displacement fan. Life is too short for high tech '92. It sits back 2 feet....better have a cowl.
-
Get your parts receipt and run the numbers on brg/engine kit. Too tight or loose on oil clearances and it may have like affects. Loose generally make an inspection hole in block. Mis-cut and never plastigauged??? Don't know what kind of stuff goes on at an African machining shop?
We just sent a truck down to Nigeria last summer. PLN, early 1998, Blue, Wet-kit, 427 horse, got hit and totaled on left drivers side......Shipped out of Manders Diesel Minnesota.

Don't have PLN break down. This is E-tech. It does stand to show that (it is assumed) all oil that goes into crank mains is shared to rod bearings via drilling. They don't even show the crank since it is part of main circuit.

Sorry to see it man. PAI is fine quality, one of the owners of PAI have rights to all MACK brand intellectual property. Forget about bearing coating being a factor...it's a non-issue. Only reason that coating wasn't working is because no oil was touching it. Gotta figure out how you lost oil pressure and did not realize it. If you did not lose oil pressure need to figure out how you got over size rod bearings on a standard size crank. They look std size? I'll get you some info ASAP.

can the AI engines be converted to Etech?
Yes, you have to use a CCRS camshaft from 03. Remove and replace the restrictor exhaust manifold with a 1999-2003 manifold. Replace turbo with 1999-2003 of like-horsepower. They also make a 50HP injector that can be installed. The attached bulletin shows which cam to use.....

LE wouldn't work well. The mixer chassis originally used a Fuller auto shift. Allison would not favor the application. Original set up was an Oshkosh Truck Chassis. They did not use mack diffs, top load is an issue. Full wheel drive would be a whole new issue.

If your counting on it for West-to-East coast take it in and have a Manometer test run on it. Then start checking oil for metal and coolant if it is a 400-460 horse. That can be your peace of mind. If it is a day cab truck test oil and forget the hour meter.

IMO...Too much internal fuel control business going on with the AC460 to take the liberty of adding more. AI460 is a playground.
-
Any or all the above.......Top up coolant, clean the radiator, swap out the thermostat, check viscous fan by spinning (engine off) to confirm it has resistance, or unplug the A/C high pressure switch to manually turn engine fan on and off (switch is on right side close to top bolt of radiator support member). Last effort, have a radiator shop "rod out" plugged core or replace radiator.

We did it often in our Dealership. You need to find a CCRS engine with the same HP rating. Get a chassis vin from 2003 that was pre-egr (and CCRS) then use that to parts search. Mack stopped selling the full camshaft kit. You can still get a good cam and full kit from PAI, it is equal quality of OEM and costs much less. Also take the high restriction ex manifold off and switch back to a 2003 pre-egr manifold. Take the turbo exhaust shell off and hog it to match the flow outlet. I have a contact for 50HP injectors. You'll gain 50HP with no modification beyond an injector swap out. About $75 per tip. AI can be a great engine but you need to throw a little $$ into it. Most of our guys left the cam alone and did a "breather" mod on it with injectors and manifold switch. If you take away exhaust restriction you can nullify the AI, injectors do the rest.
