  1. I am trying to get my 1986 Mack MH 613 with a 300 Mack engine ready for a show this weekend and it has four 6 volt battries. Well come to find out 2 of them are dead and 2 of them are good but don't have the money to buy 2 new ones was wondering if I could put 2 12 volt battries for it to run instead of 4 6 volt battries. Don't know is it a 12 volt system with dal paths or a 24 volt starting system. Needing some help on this guys would really appreciate it plus needing it quick. Thanks for anyi nfo in advance.

  2. I recently bought a 1979 Superliner (RWS768LST) with a Cummins KT-450, Eaton Fuller 15 speed with OD, With 55's on Camelbacks. She has pulled lowboys her whole life, with third axle, diamond plate headache rack with light bar, and full diamond plate fenders. I am the third owner and had the local dealer run the vin and it looks like drivetrain is original. She needs some TLC been neglected last few years by previous owner who replaced her with new truck. She hasent been licensed in about 5 years. I havent pulled anything with her yet but bobtail she seems pretty stout. I am planning to restore to new condition in near future and run her. They dont make em like that anymore. I will try to post some pics soon.

That sounds awesome will have to bring her down to some aths truck shows in Tn and show her off.

  3. Hey guys just wondering how rare are mack superliners and ultraliners with factory cummins engines in them. My friend in Ga has a 1985 mack ultraliner with a 400 cummins and 15 speed deep reduction in it from the factory . His is a MH633 instead of a MH613 he said the first 3 means it has a cummins in it. Also found a superliner tanker fire truck in the town I live in with a factory 400 cummins and 13 speed . Believe it is a 79 model. What was the rarity of these and was they special ordered or just built on the line and sent out to dealers?post-2363-0-46394900-1294612576_thumb.jp

  4. The bolts are encased, or moulded within the lamp housing itself. They are actually square headed. If they are spinning there really is little you can do except break the housing off of the truck, (use a hacksaw to weaken the housing) then grab the bolt heads with vice grip pliers and spin the nuts off the threads. The lamps themselves are common and can be had from Grote, Truck-Lite, etc.

it aint the bolts on the light itself but the little screws in the fiberglass of the cab. They are up under the light kinda its the cab that where the light mounts is busted. Thanks.

  5. On my 1986 mack ultraliner my passenger side blinker the fiberglass housing that holds the blinker on the truck is busted where the two bolt holes are. The screwws that hold the housing on are stripped. I tryed using a hex head but that did'ntt work. I was told that you need a special tool from Mack to remove these and also I willneed two new ones to replace these when removed.Has anyone else had this problem and where do I get the tools and screws to replace. Thanks so much for any help on this matter.

    Thanks,

  9. Hey Guys I am Corey Price From Sparta, TN. I have always loved Mack Trucks and been around trucking all my life but have never drove a truck for a living. I have been president of the Music City Chapter ATHS since 2004. Every year at all the truck shows the members would ask me when I was goona get me a truck. I would always say gotta buy the family a house first then would just go on. Well one day a few people got together and decided their president needed a truck and knowing I was a Mack man they knew it had to be a Mack. So on April 18th, 2008 at Smokey Mtn. Chapter ATHS first annual truck show in Clinton,Tn. they presented me with my 1986 Mack Ultraliner. I was so excited I just kept walking circles around the truck. Tracy Howard in Knoxville gave the truck it was a extra one setting around his shop that had been a mobile home toter. On friday they all got together and cleaned on it and put some alumnium wheels on it. It has a mack 300 that has been turned up to a 350. It has a eaton 9 speed double overdrive . It had been a tandem axle but converted to a single axle. I hope to make it back to a tandem axle someday. So to all the guys who helped Thanks so much guys.

  11. Sounds like your ok with the drive train. It's a good spec for light duty. We had one with wedge brake and you had to depend on the trailer brakes to get it stopped. Check the steps. They usually break and are hard to find. Most have been repaired. At age 25 the chrome is coming off the plastic grill and those pieces are also getting scarce. We have parted out some MH's and may have what you need.

I have a 1986 mack mh613 and am looking for a grill plus some other odd and end parts. Please email me a price and condition of it. Thanks,

    Corey B. Price
