well another week has come & gone the next 1 will be a challenge. jimmy will be gone so hopefully things will go okay but i guess we will see .. just stoping by to cheak out otherdogs blog he went to a truck show today so he's got lots to talk about.

yeah that was a little old i think i was in 3rd grade the first time i heard that. { otherdog they had beepers & dinosaurs when you wher little??????}

well here we are another week has come and gone not much happend this week had a driver quit because he said he couldent drive 72 mph. found the rightfull owner of roxy turns out she belongs to bebo litchford she was a good dog i'll miss her. broke out i the hives yesterday took six shots to calm me down felt like a chimp the way i was scratching but thats about it for this week untill the next

MUTT?!! ...Hey,how about I bring him over and he could breed your rock chasing dog-all he chases is cars,but he's very choosy about which cars he chases. No telling what the puppies might chase. THEY PROBLY CHASE DUMP TRUCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well another week has come and gone. and the trucks have been busy! means the shop has been slow. the fedreal d.o.t man came by said we were satsfactory { another word for other dog}out of 350 logbooks only 4 where wrong!! but on a better note. the weather has been going my way i've picked up another 20'000lbs of scrap this week and the lot looks a lot less like a landfill. but i still have a long way to go but things are getting better! not much in the way of truck news. one of our star drivers cut a tire & busted a axle gasket.[nobody is perfect i guess] however much they seem to think they are. one of the family trucking companies was sold last month [H.H. Moore trucking] to PGT the first time i saw the name on the trucks i felt like there had been a new death in the family!! that company had been in the family since 1946. it took my father his father & his father to build it and countless others. i guess the world is changing more and more each day. doesnt mean that it doesnt hurt to see it happen till next time keep um between the ditches and rollin on

not much happend this week so for my cleaning efforts were thworted [hope i spelled that right ] by the rain. now if it will just dry up a little i can create so space we need desprately. got around to takeing a few pictures of my truck. oh roxy!! monday morning i whent to work. there was this mean looking dog sitting on the porch around the office. at first i was a little weary of her. but a couple off sausage biscuts later we were the best of friends. she loves rocks !! i mean loves she'll find just the right one drop it at your feet then watch it till you throw it for her! she's a great dog1 i hope nobody claims her . as it is were ever i go she follows an allways want's to play but other than that this was the slowest week in the shop in a while!!

well hello out there guys just thought i would take a minute to introduce my self. i'm 26 years old and i konw that sounds young but i've been in on and around trucks my whole life it's all i know. its the family biz so i guess its part of the family. right now we run about 70 trucks and that seems like to few or to many depending on what day it is. where either to busy or not busy at all. but we still seem to find a way to make things work. its allways an adventure. there some thing that allways seem to need doing. recently i started cleaning & expanding the backlot where we drop trailers. its been qutie a task so far . i belive that i've hauled about 125.000lbs of scrap from up there now its starting to look like a trucking company instead of a landfill but i've still got a long way to go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was long,but a pretty easy run. We only had to drive the dolly getting out of the old Carolina Steel plant in Abingdon then again when we got to the jobsite. The rest of the way was all interstate and we would pull the steer axle of the dolly up on 2 big blocks and chain it to the beam so it was up off the ground. My daddy and my grandfather put a body on that truck for the owner when I was a wee lad-that's going back a ways. He later took the truck as partial payment for some work because I wanted it-the owner had parked it by then. It would barely run,but I drove that truck home. I was intending to fix it,because I thought it was such a neat looking old truck,but you know how it goes when you're 17 or 18 years old. Daddy had the head done,it had several burnt valves,so that's why it wouldn't half run, and I put a new voltage regulator on it, but I soon lost interest in it because something else came along. Back then-about '75 or '76 I guess- it would have been pretty easy to restore,but it's pretty far gone now. Somebody even shot all the glass out of it with a BB gun. When I left Jeffrey it was kind of funny. Even jeff and Teresa thought so. But Bonnie ( at H.H.Moores) was not amused at all,especially by what I said about him catching a ride. She acted like it was my fault and I left him on purpose. She had NO sense of humor, NONE. hey you wanna fix that truck!!!

It wasn't funny siting at a rest stop for half an hour but it is a funny story now. besides they made it up to me with a trip to hooters later that night. only thing that realy bothered me about that trip was the hydrulic steering on the dollies

The adventure of the week had to be unloadibg a ford flatbed truck.{ It was made sometime in the 60's not sure when} From a step deck trailer without the assistance of a loading dock. the tools required for this operation are common to a shop. however seldom used in this abstract.The adventure started at about 6:00 am & took some serous thought. before we came up with a good idea. to make a long story short we took a forklift & a low boy trailer detached the low boy from the gooseneck picked up the low boy. then backed the step deck under the low boy. & drove the truck on to the low boy after that we lifted the low boy and pulled the step deck out from under the low boy from there it was a simple matter of drive'n the truck of the low boy! adventure complete

what ever happend to screws seems everything today is held together with little plastic clips. who made up there mind that srews & bolts were so bad. for instance i had to repair a headlight to day. the hole thing was plastic there wasn't a srew or bolt on the hole assembly. what gives was the old four headlight syestem so bad does everything have to be made of plastic. i think the old iron way worked well for a long time. they were easy to work on .they looked good & got the job done!!

seen a new sight to day couple of ladies showed up today to pick up a couple western stars we sold it was the first time i had ever seen 2 class 8 trucks with a dodge pick up in the middle of the 2 pretty cool i thought wish i had a picture 2 show ! maybe next time till then!!

Hello all. I'm kinda new to all this. but my buddy other dog turned me on to this site. So i figure that i would give it a try. i'm a young buck of 26 years . i've spent most all of them around trucks. hauled a few things here and there. {mostly oversized steel in my teens}i've worked ontrucks most of my life they just seem to be a part of the family now i guess it's become a way of life for me. i work now for my father & uncle at there shop in concord va we maintane and operate about 70 class eight trucks . its become an adventure just takeing care of the equment so this will be my story my adventure these are the adventure,s from the shop.
