  1. It's the 401. It has the dual belts and an oil cooler in the filter housing. It has a provision for coolant to pass around the housing. I like to add the details to make it look like I've actually done something. 😁
  2. Thanks. I know I'm over doing it, the factory never never never polished the brass fittings and copper lines but I can't help myself. 😁
  3. Got the engine and transmission assembled, painted and detailed. Now they are together and finally in their home. Still have a LONG WAY to go before it's first maiden voyage.
  4. Nah. I'm just anal when it comes to paint. My jobs never suit me, I see every flaw in them.
  5. An inexpensive HVLP gravity feed from Harbor freight actually. As long as you don't want to use one everyday, they work just fine.
  6. Hhmm. I'll have to give that a try....nothing wrong with saving a buck.
  7. Finally got all the colors on over the weekend. Still have some buffing and polishing to do but pretty much done with the painting. Good thing I filled up the one tank compartment with compound and polish beforehand! 😉 The orange looks brighter in the pictures I noticed.
  8. I already have. $334 for a gallon of single stage! 🤤😲
  9. Yes, my god that stuff is expensive. The Nason brand of paint and clear is fairly reasonably priced. Still, a little at a time...time....a gallon of something this month, another gallon next month.......
  10. I filled up the tank compartments with the appropriate colors and just siphoned off what I need.
  11. Started shooting colors this week. I have to do it in sections because of it's sheer size. The weld joints make a perfect place to break it up. I'll be moving down to the tops of the doors and the front and back panels with the blue and doing from the body seam down, including the box doors in the orange. Looks like I'll be laboring over Labor Day weekend. No time for hot dogs and beer for me!
  12. And I thought I was the only one who used the kitchen for more than dinner.....a flex plate in the freezer and a ring gear in the oven. She came home sooner than I thought and, BUSTED!
  13. Even if the shortcomings are created by having a "DUH" moment. Whoremembers this.....? The reason I couldn't get the rear wheel to fit all the way on.
  14. A big thank you to BMT member B42 for hooking me up with a part. That's why I like this group so much. Everyone helping each other with advice, knowledge or just plain support. Thanks to everyone.
  15. Do you think $50 is good for a used cover? I don't want to cheat the seller. He doesn't know what to ask andI'm not sure what to offer.
  16. What is a fair price for buyer and seller of a b model battery box cover? I have no idea what to offer and the seller isn't sure what it's worth. As far as I know it is in good condition and is just the cover.
  17. Yes you are correct. I can't recall his name either. Nice old truck. He said the grill and original fiberglass fenders were from an old firetruck.
  18. The International was in pretty good shape with an older restoration. I removed the lettering from the doors and pinstripes from the rest of it...overhauled the carburetor and rebuilt the sloppy accelerator linkage.
