  1. So I did some figures and it looks like the 2070 has a final drive of .60 and 41'' tire with 2100rpms off the engine and 5:73 final drive ratio gives it a top speed of 74.53 mph so I guess I need to go drive it. The salesman told me it would go 58 on the flat according to his gps. I am going to go look at it friday afternoon I will report back, Anybody have a rough idea what its worth? Its very solid the bed is beat up no major oil leaks unknown mileage decent tires but getting ready for brakes.

  2. I’m looking at a 88 R-690 tri axle dump it has a em6-300L with a 2070 trans and 5:73 gears. Everything about the truck is perfect for wat I want except the top speed of 59mph. I have another 89 Mack that has 4:42 gears if I put those carriers in would it sacrifice too much power? I don’t mind being under powered but I don’t want it to struggle to go. Or is there another route I could go? I really need it to go 65mph. Could I get away with 24 talls and turning it up to 2400rpm? Thank you all for your help in advance! I know this ? Has been brought up mor than once in here.  Pick for reference.

  3. Hey guys I went to replace the air compressor on a friends truck. 95 dm with a e7 350. Any way the new compressor he supplied has side to side play on the inlet. Like a lot, about 3/16 side to side. He wanted me to put it on but I said something isn’t right. The old worn out one has no side to side play. I suggested taking the new compressor back it came from fleet pride. Am I right or am I worried about nothing? As always thank you for any answers ahead of time.

  4. We had a bad season with accidents this year but luckily nobody was injured. 3 trucks wrecked with zero of our drivers at fault. Our quad had a car cross the centerline and hit it head on. Our tri axle had a car run a red light and t bone it and a pick up had a semi rear end it and puts it into another semi. I fixed the quad and the tri axle there was no hope for the pickup. Will get pics having trouble uploading them.

  5. Sent a text out. I hope he gets better soon my dad just had a single bypass and a valve replacement. It was scary enough and we caught it before a heart attack. I could not imagine finding out the way his family did. Prayers sent to another brother of the road.

Well here's some progress. I got the rears sand blasted, painted, and in the truck. Also I got the air tanks installed, moved the tool box, and cut the hood out for the out side air cleaner. I was kind of nervus about cuting the hood out but it turned out really nice. My Brother and I got the truck moved inside the other day out of the weather. Dad and I went and got the dump body I bought for it the other day before this snow hit. It needs some work done to it but it has alot of potential. Actually it's the same year as the truck. Here's some more pics

    Thanks, Josh:MackLogo:

Don't know if this is the right forum, I need a front engine cross member  for a 87 RW753 Superliner with a cat 3406B motor Part #10QL4296, local Mack dealer says not available anymore. Could also use the lower motor mount that bolts to the cross member and the upper mount that bolts to the engine.

quite often the secondary is a dual tank, the wet section is inboard.... or not..!!! giveaway is two drains underneath..

follow the hoses from the compressor, through the dryer if you have one, and see which tank it enters.

if you don't have a wet tank, and no dryer, then yes put one in.... most diagrams are somewhat generic so your truck doesn't always look like the drawing

I suspect you do have one

Ok that makes sense the passanger tank has two drains. Thank you for the great information. I am slowly learning.

  9. So I am working on the air system on my superliner. Looking at generic air diagrams. All of them are showing a "wet tank" and a primary and secondary tank. So three air tanks total. Mine only seems to have the primary and secondary. No wet tank. So my question is, is my truck just pre these diagrams? Should I put a wet tank in it to try and keep water out of the system? It's a 1989.
