I think(???) that Holtzman Gulf Oil tanker had a complete topic of its build on here about 2-3 years ago??? Maybe some one is better at searching than I am..
Willie Dog is the one who did the project for Holzman Oil. This is the truck from the E-Bay listing before he got it.

Enjoy the truck, Garden Wolf. Thanks to everyone that helped answer all the questions. Drrkgreen, I'm sure Garden Wolf has your phone number programmed on speed dial. Special thanks to you for your help.

Don't thank me Justin. All I did was put it out there where the people who know the answer to your question would see it. They are the the ones who unselfishly share their knowledge and experience to help others on this site. All you need to do is ask.

Please give Watts Mack a call at 1-888-304-6225. They are the generous provider of the BMT website.
I was going to suggest that to Garden Wolf . He is monitoring this thread.

Thank you very much for your help.

It was built in 1956 so the first part number would apply. Any suggestions as to sourcing? Sounds like a common part if it fits that many different configurations.

I am posting the line sheet from the Mack Museum on my truck hoping that someone can answer Garden Wolf's question about obtaining tie rod ends and roughly what they will cost. I think I remember a discussion about the rebuild kits awhile back and I believe these are the ones that can be rebuilt. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks .

Justin, I have tried to answer your questions honestly and to the best of my ability. I am sure that someone will know about the cost and availability of tie rod ends for the B-42. There are many knowledgeable folks on this site who are more than willing to help you if they see your post.

If it was a gas truck then it has a deep rear ratio, any idea what the rear ratio is? terry
Terry,
Don't know the ratio. The speedometer was never recalibrated from the original drivetrain but I estimate it runs close to 55 mph in high gear.

I am the one who built this truck 25 years ago. It is everything Steve says it is and then some!
It started as a cab and chassis, I put the 711 and the quadraplex in it, a year later did an in frame rebuild including the heads. The box that is on it now I put on in 2005. The power steering box I replaced around 2009. I don't think Steve mentioned that he had a clutch put in it right after he bought it from me 6 years ago.
All the above being said, That is a great truck, mechanically sound,Well worth the money and I wish I could have it back. (Steve offered it to me but I just can't justify it.)
Rick,
Welcome to the forum. I've always thought you did a great job putting this truck together. I wanted something that was basically turn-key and once the clutch was installed that is exactly what it has been for 6 years. You should be very proud of your work. I get compliments on the truck by everyone who sees it. Thanks for your input on this thread.

Steve is a straight shooter real old time trucker
Joe,
Thanks for the kind words, although you could have left out the part about being "real old" 😄

Thanks to both of you for the comments. Wife and I have our house up for sale and cannot include the Mack in the next chapter of our lives. This is one of those choices that you do what you don't want to do in order to achieve what you have to do.

extra set of good fenders and many other extra parts included, as well as documentation from the Mack Museum
not museum quality but in very good condition (will need tie rod ends to pass inspection)
Have owned this truck for nearly 6 years and still enjoy driving it every chance I get but unfortunately I must let it go.

Shared that with my barber yesterday. Good thing he wasn't using the straight razor at the time.. he was laughing so hard I probably would have lost an ear.

Willie dog,
Don't know much about these things but check the shop manual I sent you...section 101-3 and section 302-2. Hope this helps.

Had a Superliner near me with a small bunk and E9 that burned in a shop fire. I took this picture of this blue B model at Louisville about 20+ years ago and I haven't seen it since.
I took this picture at the Love's truck stop in Richmond Hill, Ga on January 5, 2016. The owner was from Zebulon, NC and was hauling classic cars to Florida. Despite the black paint, it sure looks like the same truck.

Took him all of 1/2 a second to go from all smiles to this:
He still got the bath, though. Toughen up, buttercup. Gonna be a lot of things in this world you don't like, but ya gotta do 'em anyway.
Rowdy Rebel,
Have you and your son been watching Jeff Dunham videos together? He seems to be channeling Walter.

Tammy,
I have a 2015 Pinnacle that does the same thing. Look for a switch on the dash marked "disable". This will temporarily disable the grade-gripper feature on the M-Drive, allowing you to move the truck without the 2 or 3 second delay before the brakes are released. It does not have to be much of an incline to activate the grade-gripper and it can be kind of annoying. I use that override switch constantly. You can manually toggle the override back off or it will automatically do so once the truck accelerates to 5 or 10 mph. Hope this helps.

h67st,
Is your son a professional artist or does he do this because he enjoys it? He is obviously a talented individual....spoken by a guy with zero talent who could not draw a straight line with a ruler if my life depended on it.
