i assume V-Mac II.  cruise is attached to the clutch switch just like the engine brake, I guess I am assuming engine brake here..  how is the condition of the wire harness at the injection pump, on the engine side of the harness?  loose pins and of course frayed wires can cause this.. if the duetch connector is not secured in its yoke, it will shake and loosen up.  Pictures always help when we try to guide someone to the repair..   jojo

Yes it has an engine brake.  We did the complete wiring harness about 5 or 6 years ago but you know that doesn't mean anything.  Would a bad accelerator pedal cause the cruise to not work?  I'm about convinced that where the stumble is coming from.  If you are on the pedal 100% it won't do it.  Only falls out when your in the middle somewhere.

  2. I have a 1997 E7454 that just had the injection pump,  injectors and econovance rebuilt. At any rpm while driving it will stumble like the engine had been switched off. Doesn't seem to do it when you're 100% on the accelerator pedal. Also, the cruise control will not work while driving.  It will let you idle it up while sitting still.  Where should I start looking?

  3. How many sensors are there on a 2016 MP8 that can make a request for the engine fan to come on?  Mine runs all the time.  I have replace the a/c pressure switch, the intake boost/temp sensor and the fan drive itself. No success.

The fan used to start engaging between 205 and 210 degrees with full lock up happening around 210.  Now it comes on between 195 and 200 degrees and won't cut off.

  4. Would anyone have a part number on this hose?  It came out of my old inventory,  so it had to come off a R, RW or MH as those were the only models we ran other than CH's.  It is currently on a CH that we upgraded with a bigger turbo.  It does not have a part # on it.  The dimensions are 13.5 inches long with a 3.5 inch diameter.   Any help would be appreciated.

  5. I have bought a product called Killem made by FPPF but haven't tried it yet.  I pick my truck up Monday from the Mack dealer.  Had low power and a check engine light.  Light was an egr sensor but the low power was algae and dirty filters.  Filters only had about 7500 miles on them.  I will give the power service product a try as well.

  6. My 2016 CHU has algae in the fuel.  My 1990 RW had sumps on the tanks and I would drain them a few times a year to keep the water and algae out.  The CHU does not have sumps.  Looking for recommendations on where to buy some so that I can weld them on.  Thanks.

  7. keg1 as for now the Superliner isn't going anywhere.

nwfs600 the door tag say 19200.  It has twin 142 gal tanks.  The weight is a concern for me because my 90 Superliner, 265 wheelbase double frame, V8, headache rack, tool boxes, moose bumper, chains, binder, straps ect. ect. ect. full of fuel weighs 22,000.

  8. I'm about to pull the trigger on a new ride.  CHU613, 505E, T313, 150/151 carriers w/3:79 ratio on 24.5 rubber.  Am I screwing up?  Been driving R's all my life, Superliners specifically for the last 26 years.  I'm looking for a change and some creature comfort.

  9. 2004 Vision with an AC 460 came into my shop about a week ago with a broken rocker arm on the #5 exhaust valve.  Replaced rocker and adjusted valve because the whole top end was out of adjustment.

Now it's with another broken rocker.  I'm betting #5 exhaust.  This truck is equipped with a Jacobs engine brake.  It is also not the original engine.  Original engine threw a rod on #5.  After discussion with my Mack dealer we think this engine was equipped with a Power Leash instead of Jacobs.

We are trying to cross reference some numbers.  Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

  10. Just got through rebuilding my oil cooler. Did the same thing. Pulled oil pan and pressure checked. No coolant. Next place to look is the oil cooler. Big o ring was dried out. If your getting coolant in the pan during climate changes most likely an o ring somewhere.

  11. Longview is where I call home. Too bad you didn't have room on your trailer to haul this superliner I have for sale back east.

. I would have liked to see your Superliner. I was working at the corner of Coal Creek rd and hwy 4 where those lagoons are. Stayed at the super8 in Kelso for 3 days.
  12. Power divider is a good suspect.

When you got new tires, did you put them on the same axle, or move them around?

Front drive is turning different speed from rear drive=power divider.

BUT, check U-joints, carrier bearings, pinion.

    Hell, pull the axles too

Thanks hatcity. When I put the new tires on I put all 8, same brand name and everthing. I'm going to drop the drive shaft today and run it just to eliminate the transmission as a suspect. We rebuilt the tranny back in April so I don't think that is the problem. It shifts really good and does not bind up in any gears. We replaced the two carrier bearings on the drive shaft a few weeks ago and that made no difference. I wish something would just explode so I would know what to fix, but NO I gotta chase ghosts!!!

  13. Well the big CL has a spun bearing on #8. #4 looks like it has 10 million miles on it but #3 looks brand new. Engine only has 375k since major overhaul with a new crankshaft. Looks like the rear journal was not getting enough oil. Anyone else seen this happen?
