The split was 186 Super-Liner II (RW 613) and 64 Ultra-Liner (MH 613). They were used as a special promotion to introduce the Super-Liner II, Family 10 E9 V8, and T2090 transmission. The entire production was sold out before the production run began. They were all model year 1985- ordered in late 1984 and early 1985 for delivery in 1985. (there were 26 made with the 1070B transmission for deleviery in Canada)
MackTucks4 - send me the last 4 of the VIN (PM) and your email and I can check the database for to see if it was built as a Magnum.
The white Magnum belongs to Chris Lee in Maryland. It was built as a Magnum. Chris chose to interpret his truck in his own way when he restored it.
I have an article written for Double Clutch magazine on the Magnum's schduled for publication late this summer.
i wish someone would do one for the libertys

Well if they are the same thing they sure do a good job of altering them. From what I have seen they do seem to look like different trucks to me. Anybody done a photo-shop 50/50 of a Mack and a Volvo to see if they truely are 100% the sam rigs ? Mike
if they say there the same its because they dont know they are not the same truck i work on both they are not the same.......

Wow, there are a bunch of youngins on BMT which is GREAT. Glad you are preserving the Mack tradition. Too bad more young people are not interested in preserving the past (not just Mack).

I bought a new thermocouple for the turbo, it has a short pigtail with two eye terminals...
I have about thirty pictures of E6 Engines and all of them have been "spliced" and taped directly into the wire that ruins to the gauge...
Does anyone have a photo of a factory setup with what it is supposed to tie too? It looks like it would run to a terminal block or something?!?
Thanks

True. But the debate is supposedly on a 60 second time delay....and here is a qoute from CNN's Candy Crowleys unbiased view of the debate.
"For the next four years, President Obama has laid out real and achievable goals, and a specific path to get there, restoring middle-class security and creating jobs and long-term economic growth," she wrote. "Mitt Romney comes to this debate in a different position. He doesn't have any specific plans to move us forward -- only tired repeats that will take us back. ... So, Romney can use tonight's debate to do what he does best,: attacking the president, distorting his own record, and avoiding all details on his plans for this country."
Good stance from an unbiased debate "moderator". Paul

we done it on a superliner we had to make our air to air pipes make throtle linckage...but when you say e7 427 they were vmac 2 it can still be done we used a 400I have did it and only thing i run into was the exhaust manifold was mounting the turbo in wrong place but we made it work. The E7 will have a 5 " exhaust. The clutch will be pull on both engines. The power steering pump may be located on the front instead the rear of the comp but that is ok to.
-
and you cant get parts for them anymoreThe stealth had an extra gate behind the turbo, it was a combination engine brake and exhaust brake to make up for the poor performance. It was only offered for a short while.

guess I'll have to dig up my old cofederate license plate and put on ole Super Mutt. Then let's see some PC bastard try and take it off me.

if uncle jessie was still alive and WAYLON DAM JENNINGS HED SAY I DONT KNOW ABOUT YALL BUT IM TIRED OF THIS SHIT"Responding to the continuing rumors, Ben Jones, the actor who portrayed Cooter in the television series, weighed in with a fiery press release. “Some unnamed genius at the company feels that the flag is ‘offensive to some’ and therefore it has no business on a classic TV comedy about a bunch of good ol’ boys and girls in the Southern mountains,”
Mr. Jones, a former two-term Democratic congressman from Georgia, wrote. “This is a new level of ‘P.C.’ idiocy. I don’t know about you, but I am tired of being insulted by morons.”
In the latest statement earlier this week, Mr. Jones, who organizes theme events around the franchise and sells related merchandise online and through his store, Cooter’s Place, in Nashville, said that there were “reliable and verifiable reports from the Warner Brothers car licensees with whom we do business that as of Jan. 1, 2013, the Confederate banner on top of the General Lee would be removed because some people ‘found it offensive.’ "

He had a 350 Mack engine and a Fuller trans. I saw him bobtailing on I-79 near Morgantown, WV last year. IIRC, he was from somewhere in the east or northeast part of PA. I'm thinking he might be hauling Frac sand.

One thing about what people want or like, it's what influences you every day. When I was a kid all that we saw on Long Island was Lizza, Zarra, Pratt, Bromen, Prefered and Colonial B models, R models and Autocars. Farm and municipal trucks were Macks, FWD, Internationals and GMC/Chevys. Oil and Coal companies had Macks, Fords or Whites, Local business and small contractors had Fords, Chevies or Dodges. But Mack and Autocar were what I saw the most of. I only saw other brand trucks on T.V. or movies. I pass another Mack now, its as rare as when I was a kid seeing a Pete, K.W. or other brand. Same I'm sure holds true now. I can't really say I always wanted a Mack, it just seemed natural to have one, it's what I grew up with. Paul

a e9 will fit in a 1973 rs r model a friend of mine has one i willtry to get pictures it was at hagerstown factory at powerday yesterdayunless there was some majic involved an E9 wont fit under the hood of an RD or RS only an RW Superliner it hangs over the frame on both sides Ive got one outside now. The early Mack v8's had bolts in the center of the valve covers, the E9 has 4 bolt covers with the bolts on the perimeter two up top and two on the bottom.the 865 has two in the center.
