This is me driving my B81 to its new owner the day I sold it. I'm not nearly as good at shifting the Quad as my father is.

This is my dad driving my B61 in 2014. He used to drive Macks back in the '60s through the '80s.

I had a '64 B81SX dump that I sold a few years ago. It was in just as good of shape as your new one. The guy that bought it had a garage and I didn't, so it has that going for it now.

I am trying to get a 25 year old Kenworth single axle truck registered with a "Classic" license plate in CT. The last time I did this (with my 1964 Mack B61SX dump truck) I didn't have to first get the truck inspected, now the young man behind the DMV counter is saying if the GVWR of the truck is over 26,000lbs, I have to have it inspected first before they will issue the Classic/Antique plates.

Is he just blowing smoke like many tellers do at the DMV, or is this now a thing?

The state DOT has already granted me an exception to register the truck as a non-commercial vehicle without DOT numbers and I have insurance ready to go.

Yep. I made my own three years ago.

Our 2003 Explorer was getting long in the tooth and finally gave up the ghost around Thanksgiving. We had previously done research and testing on comparable new mid-size 7 passenger replacement vehicles. We did not like the current Explorers in almost any respect and ended up going with a new '18 Dodge Durango, which was the closest in design and feel to our '03 Explorer.

If the newly redesigned Explorers were out, we'd have looked at Ford again, but they weren't. Either way, we are very pleased so far with this new Durango.

I don't think I'm complaining (then again, maybe I am), but pickups are getting ridiculous.

I went with 4" which was standard for the time.

I am putting an '84 237 into my B61 and the injector pump is giving fits. I am assuming this pump would be an exact fit and work?

Yep. My dad drove both back in the '60s and '70s. The B-81s had 673s and 673Ts and the Autocar had a 230 Cummins with a 13spd Road Ranger. He the Autocar was a good truck, but the Mack held the load better and had better gearing with the Quadbox.

The 127 came from a friend, needed some loving.  Runs well, just needed some front end work and new tires.

Around here, I see more Vulvas than anything, followed by Macks and then Kenworths. Petes and Internationals after that.

I read an article about a testing firm that said the Extra Guard Frams were bad, but the next step up, the "Tough Guard" Frams were decent filters.

I've been running the Tough Guard Frams in our Explorer ever since reading that article about a dozen years ago.

Absolutely true. My '03 F-350 XLT has three climate control knobs: fan, temp, and position. Simple, efficient, and you don't even have to look at them to know where they are or what they're doing.

By contrast, my parents' 2015 Fusion has 12 different small buttons for climate control. Twelve!

END711 for sale out of a 1964 B61SX. 

Engine does not run due to faulty injector that burned up a piston. It did run clean and strong until then. 

Package includes: engine, six NOS Mack 711 pistons, new ringset (6), new head gaskets (2), oil pan gasket, two 711 oil filters, fuel filters, and fan belts. There might be a few other things kicking around the garage for the 711 and I'll throw them in, too. The NOS parts alone are worth quite a bit of money.

All that is needed to get this engine back on the road is a 711 sleeve.

$4,000.00 OBRO if you pick it all up.

I'm swapping this 711 out for a 237.
