Glad to hear you got your problem solved. I am also happy your son is getting his hands dirty working on your R.
On a different note, I noticed your air cleaner has been redone, I am sure it met the same fate as a lot of Canadian R model air cleaners, Rotted out behind the lower
strap.
Is the air cleaner new, or did you rebuild it? And the air cleaner bracket, is it chrome plated ?

Very nice B, and very cool story.

Something else to check Vlad, I have had the plunger at the top of the treadle valve hang up a bit. If you take the pedal off, take the plunger out and clean & lubricate it. I have had that trouble myself in the snowplow, now its part of my regular maintenance . Just a thought.

Your truck looked a lot better when you got it out of the woods. Happy to see it saved.
I wouldn't mind a good story either.

About 1947 or so. To do this now you'd need a dozen permits, security barriers to protect the children from puppet fumes, rest rooms, "Gender Neutral" puppets, no six guns, signed authorization to use "Native American puppets" and and a disclaimer to show that no puppet animals were harmed in the show.
That is so true. North of the border also!

Thanks Vlad for sharing your adventure with us. I agree with superdog, that is true Mack dedication to go to those lengths.
I wish you the very best with the DMM……I guess you will have the only one around your neighbourhood.

I think gearhead has you pointed in the right direction. If the alternator has a SAE J-180 mount, two bottom legs and one top bolt. It is important there is movement in the bottom bushing (bottom leg farthest from fan).
When installing or adjusting always tighten it last.
Pics would help though, in case you have something different.

Hey! I just found this, label looks familiar, even though it's more than twenty years ago now...
Thats a Mack 6 speed . Or a TRXL 107/1071. The TRXL 1071 has low low or a creeper gear.
I don't know of an air switch on the dash though.

In the wiki there is an R model wiring diagram. It might help point in the right direction.

Unfortunately my education is similar to yours , from youtube. My education of Australian road trains is from the same place, youtube.
Hopefully one day I can see both, Notre Dame rodeo, and go to the other side of the world to see some cool road trains!

Last weekend was the Notre Dame truck rodeo in Quebec.
This has on youtube….. not Macks, but pretty cool in my opinion.
From what I can figure, they are pulling 145,000 pounds…….The trucks are going faster than my 237 would go empty.

Don't be afraid to show off your truck. We love em all. From ones with trees growing out of the hood to shined up show trucks.
