    Canadian built E6 350 4v 8LL with 4.42 rears
  2. I would like to share my own super trucker experience. I had hundreds of hours of experience driving sanders and being a wingman for others. Then in the early 90's I got my own plow contract. Everyone told me I had to be careful, because it was hard to drive a plow with a wing on it. I was going to show them I was the best ! So only 20 minutes into my first storm with my first plow, I was 3 inches closer to a bridge than I should have been, going WAY too fast. I bent both wing arms (very hard to do) and it spun the truck around breaking off the plow. We limped home, put some spare wing arms on, and welded the plow back up. An hour later we were back plowing again. I was lucky it wasn't a lot worse. The bridge was ok. I learned it is experience that gives you skill…….. Important lesson! Funniest part of the story is afterward my wingman told me he was watching how close I was coming to things a said to himself, this guy is really good or really lucky. I turned out it was luck, and I ran out of it. Happy Easter everyone! Keith
  3. Sounds like an interesting truck. Post pics and specs when you get a chance. Someone on here may want to save it. (Maybe me ) It would be nice to see another one saved! Again, welcome aboard. Keith
  4. I was hoping you were a mechanic in Barrie. London is a little far to drive. In another post you mentioned a 72 R model. You wouldn't have any pics? We all love pics on here.
  5. Great to have a fellow canuck aboard MM15. What part of Ontario are you from ?
  6. Pawel , I took a pic for you. You should make sure this will be accurate for your model. The pic is from a 1986 RD688 with an E6 350 hooked to an 8LL transmission. My impression is you are making an RW model. I think (but not sure) the importance is what motor and trans is in it. If it has an E9 with a 12 speed say, I don't think it will be the same. But I honestly have no idea. Maybe someone that knows more can help you. I don't want to steer you wrong. Its probably the small details that make the model. The Pic is from the ground behind the fuel tank, looking forward. Keith
  7. Welcome Patrick, I'm a newbie myself. I found it interesting that you said we were lucky to be able to drive old classic Macks. I never thought of myself being lucky. Some people say I'm simple because I won't buy a newer truck. Thanks, I feel special today! I wanted to share a pic with you. I was in Halifax last year………………………………………………Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada I wonder where the name came from
  8. Your right, it seems that any replacement valves don't last nearly as long as original. I think the secret is to try to get new over reman, but I'm not sure. Might just be just how lucky you are. Let us know how you make out. Keith
  9. Pawel, the item you are asking about is not the speedo, it is the clutch cable, it goes to the clutch linkage on the left side of the bell housing. Hope this helps. Keith
  10. 84 superdog , what a cool thread ….. and f;'#ig amazing music videos. I love both songs, and both videos. And the truck looks perfect. Really nice work. I hope it is ok, I added a link to the Black lilies song, I couldn't find it in the thread (not the one with your truck).I might have missed it. I would suggest to any newbies (like me) to read this thread http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LevTHf9k9jM
  11. To go along with the under water theme from a few post ago. I wanted to share a couple of pics from a strange job I was called to in 2007. A local farmer was clearing the ice with his david brown and went through . He called me to pull it out. On the phone he told me it wasn't that bad. We got it dragged out and took it to a heated shop for him. He drained and changed everything, and still uses today. Guess the water didn't affect the computer. LOL
  12. Thanks for sharing your pics and info gearhead. I bet you get pissed when someone complains about the price of a quart of cherries .If they only knew the time and money you had invested. This is what we have here today, an hour north of Toronto, Canada . Almost 3 inches of snow. Mother nature is letting us know who is boss.
  13. This one is for you Superdog. I found it on line, I'm not sure if it is your new one,but I think it is the same company. It looks like it might say 17 on the right front corner.
  14. Thanks for the proper info mower man. That accident was on our news north of the border also. It doesn't surprise me that they blame the truck. It really bothers me that when there is an accident they blame the trucker. We have had people up here listening to there i-pod walk into the side of a moving truck. Of course they blame the truck. Want side guards on all trucks, even strait trucks. And the part that bothers me most is they never mention how the incident affects the truck driver. Can you imagine how you would feel, after an accident that injured or killed someone. I know I would probably hang up my keys. I wish they would give us a little more credit. Sorry for my rant, it seems like it is happening more now; blaming trucks for everything. Its a sore spot with me. Keith
  15. A pic of my dozer. It had its 10th birthday a couple months ago.
  16. Its finally spring………plow is off and buds are out……..
  17. Hope you guys have fun. Don't forget pics if you can. I have heard there is a tri-axle Titan float tractor owned by Randy Jenkins . Randy is a true pro. I have known him for a little over 20 years. And there is a granite snowplow owned by a local aggregate company. They say the Mack booth was impressive.
  18. I would like to go, but with the weather finally changing, I have LOTS to do. BADDOG, my plow came from RJ's in 1998. I always watch what they have. There was a nice rawhide there, that would have been good for sneakers. I was going to post it for you, but its gone. Maybe this one might interest him.
  19. Nice looking trucks!!!! Look forward to seeing more pics of them.
  20. It looks like the guys on the dock are saying" I'm not telling him its in the water, you tell him"
  21. Gearhead is right , tractor protection valve.
  22. I can imagine the site foreman was not impressed. Did the 88 have to save the day?
  23. That was a good one blackdog. It must of been pretty cozy in that cab with 3 girls and the driver.
