Hit a big one on the Western Ky. Parkway one night. Took out the bumper and fog lights on a CH. When I was able to find him the next night someone had cut his head off with a chain saw.

Isn't that how The R-models Roadway used were built?

The first run of Mack ch's did not have the bulldog. They all started with the number 240... All numbered after that had the bulldog. The newest tractors all start with 273...

Tell Papa it does my and probably everybody else on this site a world of good to see him working on that Mack with and for you. The world needs more men like that as they seem to be rather scarce

I never saw an R-model wear the brown. I have seen pictures of the "Baby Mack", a conventional made around the same time as the Mid liner. I have seen a cabover H model on Hanks Truck pictures too. We had one W series cabover Ford. It used to bounce back and forth between Lexington and Louisville hubs. I asked why just one and was told Ford gave it to them to try and sell some. There are currently 2 or 3 MH's behind the shop in Lexington. They won'y even discuss selling one to you.

The back of the cab reminds me of a C model!

On one of the tv Channels in Lexington reported that the reason that it was so serious is because they removed the intestines in the kitchen of that place. The place closed then and supposedly re-opened after a scrub down day. The news showed a couple of Asian dudes with a deers legs sticking out of a black plastic garbage bag. They probably took it home and cut it up and have already fed it to someone stupid enough to eat there again.

Mu Shu Deer is a specialty there.

Reminds me of some trucks Kroger used to run out of Louisville.

I unloaded and loaded trailers at UPS for about 71/2 years and another 73/4 years of driving a delivery truck. My Dad was killed in a truck wreck when I was 2. So I made my own way..The first thing I ever backed was a 28 foot pup. It was a nightmare for a while . I learned though and it has been almost 20 years ago now.I learned a lot by keeping my mouth shut and listening to drivers who were old enough to be my Dad. They took care of me and made me a survivor. Although I did not realize it at the time. The people who work in transportation have the biggest hearts.

I have seen four round headlights on an R model. Just like the four round on an F model. Both are rare.

I had a 71 Plymouth Cuda once. I couldn't afford one now. Whats up with that???

You had best get to sanding. Looks like you are getting behind on your "homework"!!
-
You are one lucky young man to have a Papa like that. Don't you ever forget that. When you get it back together don't ever get rid of that truck, no matter how good looking SHE is!
