  1. I have just recieved a digital camera and need to know how to post pictures. It seems that the posts with pictures have the most interest Thank You
  2. What is the best way to clean the paint off the aluminium radiator and headlight panels that some B-models have
  3. Check out JC taylor too.They specialize in Antiques wwwjctaylor.com 1 800 345 8290
  4. I drove many MH cabovers at UPS. The drivers pretty much loved them. You had a built in sleeper with that big doghouse. Tons more room than the F-models (referred to as hardbodies) The oldest ones were equipped with a hydraulic clutch. , no power steering, no cruise. The last of them were equipped with side fairings, cruise and power steering. and a dry type clutch. The power steering felt so loose after not having it that it was a little scary. We still have one in Lexington Ky. It is just used on ocassion to move trailers into the shop. Iwatched them go out on trailers a few years ago. It was the first time I ever saw them sell any of the equipment and not strip it and crush it.
  5. Where are you in Kentucky. Iam in lexington . I like the sound of turning one of those Cruiseliners into a motorhome. Thanks Bobby Covert
  6. I always knew Phantom 309 was a B-model. Now I have seen the sketches to prove it!
  7. If you had to tell someone that they werent original how bad could it be? I saw the originals at the Mack Museum in Macungie Pa. If Iam not mistaken they were made of Walnut.
  8. Do you know how to tell if a wine is good? You have to like the taste!
  9. Dont see many with that white steering wheel. looks good to me
  10. Oh i forgot to tell you this. There are some pictures of my dads mack after it was fixed on David Smiths trucks page The pics are titled Covert Mack. My mom sold it to my uncle after the wreck .Thanks Bobby
  11. She is looking good. Makes my heart beat just a little faster. If you were to keep her what would you do to her first? I cant believe how easy I found this in the gallery. Thanks Bobby
  12. The mack museum can tell you anything you want to know about your truck when it was built. Including who it was built for. They will most likely send you a build or line sheet if you ask them Good Luck. An R-700 was one of the largest R-models built
  13. I have seen one of those steel front R-models. It looked just like the DM-600 steel front only longer and it wasnt offset. It pulled a coal bucket.
  14. really nice interior Do you hate it when they paint them purple etc. inside I do.
  15. I know they have the records. I dont know if they can find it for you without the serial # though. Contact the Mack Museum.I got the line sheet from my Dads b model years later. It was quite a thrill for me to see his signature on the order for the truck as he had been gone for many years before. GOOD LUCK
  16. Dont forget to make her green on the inside. If the Mack turns out as well as the shop its parked in look out!
  17. Iam sorry that I didnt respond to you sooner. I take spells in getting on the internet. Anyway, the poster that iam speaking of has got to be your Mack. It is available from ART.COM it is a 16x20 poster and I think I gave about 25 for it I need to get it framed .Truck art is hard to come by so I jump on it whenever I see something I like
  18. Its a DM600 with a fiberglass front hood. As you you look at it from the front the cab should be offset to the right a couple of feet. It was a selling point of improved visibility for the driver. (similar to driving a cabover) They also made this model with a steel front. It had squared off fenders and a butterfly hood. It was considered for more severe service,The cab will still be offset on this model too. It is a nice looking unit.
  19. A few months ago I bought a poster off the internet and I think it is of your truck. That is really neat. I have looked at that poster before and hoped that the old truck gets some tlc
  20. Iam Bobby, and I live in Lexington Ky.Iam a driver for UPs here and have driven my share of Macks. My Dad had a B-61 when I was very small and was unfortunatly killed in an accident . He was leased to Direct Transport of Ky and hauled gasoline. The truck was fixed after the wreck and sold to my uncle who ran it a couple of years. It was then sold to hillcrest trucking in Frankfort Ky. (no longer in business) After that I dont know where to look. The serial no was B61t18131. If any of you guys out there that know of any B models that are parts trucks or junk check that serial no for me PLEASE .I last saw it when I was 4 in my uncles garage. Would love to have it or a piece of it. I have driven MH CH and CX Macks. I have a good collection of photos that I have taken over the years, books and literature. I also have a good sized collection of diecast trucks
  21. Congratulations to you, Wish I could say that I have one too, but not at this time. If you contact the Mack museum with that serial no they can probably tell you the year and who ordered the truck, or who it was built for. The paperwork that goes with it will be a lot of numbers preceded by a part or assembly name. Also look for the book of LJ LF and Lt model Macks published by ICONOGRAFIX . It will be about 25.00 us and it is full of pictures from the archives of Mack. See You Bumblebee090458@gmail.com
