  1. I have been busy with other projects and working, traveling, and going to shows

this Mack also recieved three new air hoses, and two newer air cans

yesterday I turned it around in the yard so it could park in the line

it will still take a lot of work before it is on the road but now it can move around the yard under its own power, which was the immediate goal

  2. This project has been on hold for a few months

we had the wettest winter in Southern California I can remember in decades

So today we spent the day working on the truck. After new fuel filters and repriming we pulled the air cleaner and we were ready to give it some starting fluid but as soon as it turned over it started and ran at a smooth idle with 35 lbs oil pressure

so now I need to replace the air shutoff solenoid due to a large air leak. The fuel return hose is also leaking. The one leak that we can’t find the source is there is oil in the rear valley near where the slober tube is bolted on but we can’t see an obvious source

  3. I get the texts to verify a charge text back y or n

i have received several calls from the real fraud department. The caller asked me if the had the card in my possession and to call the number on the back. That is now my standard procedure.

be cautious and never give out your information to a caller unless you made the call

Also, I think it technically illegal by National Electric Code to use a standby generator without a transfer switch. Automatic or manual.

Even in California all you need to do is turn the main breaker off

  5. They make an interlock so that you have to turn the main breaker off to turn the generator breaker on.

I use a lockout device on the main breaker, so it is locked in the off position

at night I can tell when the power is back on by the street lights

  6. I am looking for the following parts for my 1972 and 1970 R models

the dash panel that contains the tach and speedometer, or a tracing of the panel

the riser/ sunshade that goes between the above dash panel and the dash, I need two of these

    a speedometer

    a ashtray

the cover that goes on the back of the cab between the floor and the air valves

I have been checking this regularly but have been really busy with work so I guess I missed the posts, can you point me in there direction

  8. I am resurrecting this thread because I have a similar problem on a E6 350.

it became hard starting and would lose prime ant the filters were partially empty. I replaced all suction and return lines from the injection pump to the tank and had the lift pump rebuilt. The problem persists and now the shutdown rack sticks and will not go back in without cranking the engine and it still loses prime. Could the rebuilt lift pump be pushing too much side pressure on the cam causing the rack to jamb?

So this thread has me thinking about adding an electric pump to prime the truck and or replace the lift pump.

Can I remove the lift pump and block off the hole and replace it with an electric pump or should I put the electric pump before the lift pump.

next what electric pump to use?

  9. Today was fun

we found the second injector on both sides were stuck. The drivers side one was easy to free up, the passenger side one required the removal of the rocker bolts to gain access.

Then we discovered the truck was actually positive ground.

then the starter solenoid was not behaving

We did get the truck to run but there is no fuel coming back from the lift pump.

now we need to change the filters and work on priming this thing
