  1. This is one the trailers the this Mack used to pull. It is now in storage at a friends house. This is also the first time the little ford has pulled a trailer since changing the rear from 4.88 to 3.90 and it did fine now I am looking for some 6 lug 15” wheels
  2. Is the rubber around the vent widow available? if it is what is the source and part number
  3. The black powder was on the dirty side of the air cleaner. The place that this truck came from supplied the foundary industry and that back dust is all over the site. the clean side of the air filter element looked new. The pipe was also clean inside
  4. I have been working on this truck slowly due to other commitments. yesterday it got new batteries today I took apart the air filter and air intake and did not find any surprises. I dumped out lots of fine black powder from the air cleaner element which supports it being used in the yard since 1993. In the Farr air cleaner do you clean the outer screen? I also checked the emergency stop and it works fine and now I see how to reset it, pictures are a little dark but in one it is open and in the other it is closed I also got to use my long 1/2 inch snapon flex ratchet to bar the motor over two turns
  5. The issue with changing the gears is not the rear axles, it’s the front axle. In order to remove the differential you have to disassemble the entire axle and the current ratio is the fastest ratio that that carrier can use. So I would need a complete center assembly and I could only go from 4.92 to 4.25. if I really decide to do it the current best solution is to replace the Allison with a 13 speed
  6. Thanks the green truck gets a lot of attention everyplace we go. At the UTI show the teachers were more interested than the students probably because they saw how much work went into getting the truck to this point and I still have a lot to do. right now the truck cruises at 58mph at 2500 rpm. I would like to drop the rpm and increase the cruise speed but with only 210 hp 7.8 ford I don’t have the power I want. Every option I have come up with costs a lot of money and quite frankly I get there, just slowly. So I may just insulate the cab better and turn up the fuel a little and call it good the wife wants stairs, more water capacity. I want to delete the spare tire, or modify the mount to carry a BBQ and close the gap between the bottom of the camper and the bed
  7. Not yet working on getting the parts to replace the passenger side glass i charged a spare set of batteries for it and will soon try to start it washed it on Tuesday, as well as two other trucks. I took the green truck to a car show at Universal Technical Institute today and this red truck showed up making lots of smoke here in Southern California 75 miles in LA traffic is so much fun but the green truck has an Allison so it was bearable
  8. This is the reply that I got from the Mack museum about this truck @The number you provided is a Glider Kit. We have no information on this unit. The Mack Trucks Historical Museum has very little information on Glider Kits.” it is not helpful I would have expected they could have told me what was in the glider and who it was delivered to
  9. I can’t locate the turbo i also can’t find the spark plugs to oil the cylinders
  10. Same here, fine this morning and now at lunch I have to deal with this. I think I need to start drinking early because of this
  11. Another grumpy old man here and I am only in my mid 50’s
  12. Deflate the bumper and send her to the chiropractor to fix the curved spine and poor posture
  13. I think I will start by getting the glass replaced and then finish cleaning the rat crap from the blue Mack and then pressure wash both of them
  14. How do you make the hand primer? what is the best way to bar one of these over
  15. I need the visor or what ever you call the part that goes between the dash and the instrument panel for both R700’s and for this truck I need the speedometer and dash panel, or a good tracing so I can mak my own panel that will only hold the tach, speedometer, air pressure gauge and a warning light
  16. Yes, and there are more, but my wife says it’s unhealthy as she rolls her eyes and asks me what jewelry I am going to buy her i offered to get her a bulldog tattoo as I got her more wine
  17. As with all old trucks it has a few issues. The passenger side widows are smashed and need to be replaced, is r model glass readily available? The plastic dash panel with the tach is busted. I was thinking about putting in a standard speedometer and removing the tachograph.
  18. It is a 13 speed with a relocating shift tower they cleaned the cab so it looks better now
  19. The cable is not connected to the flip lever, it looks like it was just bent over the lever. That seems like a weak way to attach it, how much force would be in the flip lever? The lever moves freely, do I need to check it further? how many batteries should I put in the truck? Here in Southern California i have only run 2 batteries in my other trucks. Will 2 work or do I need 4?
  20. Last registered in 1993, used as a yard mule until 8 years ago. No brakes on the front axle and only spring brakes on the rear most axle, the disconnected air can probably leaks much worse than the one that is still connected. once it is running I will replace, or rebuild, all the air cans and see if that starts to correct the air loss issue tell me more about checking the rack and injector plungers
  21. Can anyone identify this 4 spring suspension? it is on a 1972 RS700 that I believe is a glider
