  1. The air start should make a few people shed their skin at the race track,......I always liked to get our pilot car drivers to jump when I would lite off a 16v71 with an air starter
  2. what is the high idle spec. for the 300? I haven't been around them, but most of the other 6 cyl. would turn around 2100. the tag on the valve cover should say . If the eng wont free rev to that speed, adjust the linkage till it does then test drive.
  3. your brake light wire need to run thru the turn signal sw. (you may need a newer style sw. to do this) if you want to run a 2 light system. (brake turn tail all in one light) if you go with a 4 light system the out side lights would be turn/clearance the inside would be brake or brake and tail. if you are running a 7 wire pig tail the latter is easer, it can be done with a 2 light system but you need a junction box ahead of the turn signal sw. in order for things to work right in the wire. If the 7 wire would always be pulling a 2 light style trailer you could junction off the rear of the truck and have a spare circuit.
  4. a few pully's and some cable should get er done, the blade push bars should extend rear ward and attach about where the drawbar is from the ones I've seen. or under the rear axle housings with drop brackets. Thinking about it a little more I might allow it to pivot under the rear half of the tractor and have thepush beams extend out the rear of the tractor, that way you could add some counter weight to help with traction and lessen the load on the lift cable for the front of the blade. just a thought ! good luck.
  5. I miss the Kelowna plant being operational, I used to see a few loads of cabs roll thru town every week on their way to the plant, then see some new piggy backs headed south ! was about the only time you would see a new truck in Okanogan county
  6. one of our local guys last year took a deer to the cab of a w900l north bound car hit the deer and threw it sky ward then Lloyd caught it in the windshield head first, it wound up head down on the passenger floor board and it ass end towards Lloyd its dying reflexes kicked the crap out of Lloyd causing a broken jaw and eye socket....all of this commotion resulted in a wrecked truck as he laid it over on its side, thankfully not hitting anyone else as he crossed the north bound lane on his way to the ditch.
  7. what truck does it need to fit ?
  8. the no smoke issue on a e-6 sounds like a fuel issue for sure, or perhaps the air cleaner in upside down, but I would think you would still have smoke, but it would make for a lazy engine response.
  9. the state of wa. finally made it legal last summer to collect your own road kill, so the crows and eagles are on a diet this winter only getting the massacred corpses, prior to that it was easy wild life viewing around here in the winter deer carcasses looked like 1/10 mile markers and the birds and youties had a road side buffet. sure smells better on a warm day in the neighbor hood that's for sure.
  10. wish I had use for a track tractor ! that ol'e girl looks great, only short coming I see is the 4 roller frame.
  11. empty that super 15 should still poke 15-17 pounds on a hard acceleration even empty . same style as the one my wife used to drive her's was a e7 400 with a 12 sp.
  12. I like how you get to see deer on a hill side..........I get to see them in the middle of the damn road....usually when its too slick to get stopped
  13. I don't think an 80k one ton is within my budget! and I'm with Rowdy on the steering issue, I want the same response every time at all speeds. hopefully the lower grades xl, xlt and such don't have this as a stock item.
  14. check your charge air cooler and all related piping and connections. you may need to pressure test the charge air cooler (they are prone to fail in the cores or weld seams) 5psi would be ok for a turbo charged Briggs & Stratton's but very low for any thing else unless you never pulled any hills and are very soft on the throttle. a 350 or 400 should make at least 25 psi
  15. does the driver hate the performance in lower gears? or is it just in high gear? if you unplug the speed sensor does the truck perform ok? if not does the engine reach full rpm (free revving )? does the truck have proper manifold pressure under load ?
  16. can you not get a "mechanics" style seal for that axle ? as Underdog said a stemco style seal will eliminate the worry of having a lip seal, seal on a worn surface a cr scott seal or mechanics seal would also fix the issue as long as the seal surface is still smooth, a wear strip in the middle should not affect them as they are multi ribbed on the inner bore. and should be able to bridge the area of concern
  17. I would like to haul apples with it every so often as well, nothing worse than an e9 transplant with no under hood pictures
  18. that would be a great deal ! nice clean machine, with great looking u/c.
  19. well in the orchard its ok, but moving thru dry grass between blocks or mowing the boarders could create some "field crisp" in a hurry. I ate enough field crisp in 2014 and 2015 to last me for a while. That was one of the main reasons I bought a new tractor last spring it was going to be one of the last tier 3 tractors Kubota was going to have in the U.S., later I found out that they got an extension on their contract.
  20. maybe I will be able to get an orchard tractor without a 4k exhaust system that raises the hood height 8 inches and produces a 1400 degree temp 12 inches from the ground !
  21. that's gonna cost the rail co. no working signal lights !
  22. I got 4k for mine 5 years ago u/c was worn out ! and was low # 4 digit machine with a holt angle blade and no belly pan, cooler was still good, pony was weak but ran, main was good, and so was the clutches, only swinging drawbar on rear. good seat and tool box. sure miss the fuel economy of that machine !
  23. gonna need some beer curls to recondition the elbow after that much block sanding
  24. boy if our local log truckers had to run e-logs they would only be home every other day ! a lot of 14 to 16 hr. round trips this time of year.
  25. Haven't been into the c-15 myself. Is it a steel spacer plate or alum ? On the older 3406, as long as the plate wasn't worn, I always reused them without problems. Did you have the head rebuilt or just replace the gasket? If I remember right, they have copper sleeves around the injector body that if they are damaged can cause a pressurized coolant system. Also, if the o-rings are bad, they will put coolant into the fuel system.
