  1. found a better page. it depends on manufacturer on whether you can shorten the wires. only one would allow slight adjustments. I'll do some more reading over Turkey day and report back.
  2. air pressure switches for brake lights and low air buzzer/light
  3. air pressure switches for brake lights and low air buzzer/light
  4. basically, my wires are to short and don't have enough resistance and it means my gauge is reading way high. so I need to find out how long the wire need to be to provide the correct readings.
  5. just did a search on calibration of pyros. found a interesting read on another forum. (don't know how to post a link) interesting as in I don't understand a word of it. seems you can calibrate with changing the leads from the gauge to the tc. I have to reread to understand it.
  6. I think he means more usable reverse gears.lol my 9LL drives me nuts trying to back up. of course I'm usually shifting gears backing up with my 6 speed. if the 6 speed just had a small overdrive it would be perfect.
  7. got rid of the ch. the RS in MY truck.... it gets a new cab and a cheater axle this winter. the shaker is for my full-time driver. the RS with the little 300 and 6 speed will out accelerate the shaker...
  8. broke down and sold my ch. replaced with this. 20000lb front 18000lb steerable 44000lb rears with full lockers single 3/8 frame ar 500 steel box cat C11 350hp 9LL transmission 380000 miles.
  9. still trying to find the air cylinder to engage the pto. might have to go with cables. the levers with solid rods are not liking the air ride cab addition.
  10. what do you hate about it? I've been considering getting one.
  11. how do you determine the length of the wires? I did trim them to hook up the new thermocoupler. they were in pretty bad shape so I took a 8 inches out.
  12. my thermocoupler is new. wiring is bad. maybe gauge? don't know how to isolate and diagnose.
  13. who makes good pyro gauges? my factory mack gauge is reading hotter than it really is. Ive seen lots of gauges from $80 up to $300. just want a good reliable gauge.
  14. good link. wish I would've seen that a month ago.
  15. Got the truck back from Mack today. Runs great. The bypass valve in the tip turbine had a massive failure! It was only found after completely disassembling the tip turbine. Also low on fuel pressure. At some time before I owned the truck, someone added a hose from the top of the fuel filter housing to the return line. No one knows why. They also figured my pyro gauge is between 100 and 200 degrees hotter than actual.
  16. at least they took thr Macks. they bought a few new internationals this year. they have been all Mack gor a long time. Casey's is a good company. they are always helping with disaster relief.
  17. I just sold my ch which was the same set up as the one your looking at. I owned it less than one year! the rd you have in the pics looks to have the lighter front axle also. pull the vin and have your local mack dealer run it for you. will save you a possible headache later. I upgraded the ch to a factory heavy spec truck and an so much happier.
  18. didn't think of that. always learning something new. pump is coming off today. thougbt I was seeing oil oming out off exhaust ports, but after thinking about it all night( can't sleep) I bet its fuel. thanks far all your help 84superdog. I'll keep you posted.
  19. Checked pyro, it is reading about 100degs hotter than it actually is. so I'm running at about 700 to 800 degs empty. looks like its back to.the pump shop.
  20. had the pump checked and the timing checked. both were perfect. checked the muffler... it was clear. checking fuel lines tonight. thinking they might be collapsed. just a hunch? my ch had that problem earlier this summer. been talking with somelocal ag mechanics that are having issues with the mandated bio diesel eating up all there fuel lines.
  21. update. got the inframe done. idles great. runs smooth. exhaust is clear..... no pwer below 1600rpm. still have high egts. 900 degrees running empty at 60mph. can't pull hills empty without downshifting.
  22. will take a look on Sunday when I see my truck.
  23. I think they are saying don't buy a new truck if you don't have a dedicated contract. it's hard to make the payment if you don't have the cash coming in steady. doesn't matter what brand it is.
  24. could you imagine coming up on the back of that kW trike on a foggy morning? I know I'd have to check my shorts!
