  1. Can 110 octane lead racing fuel be used in a 707B engine? This is the only non ethanol gasoline available in my area.
  2. Plz email me the info to: m_anello@cox.net Thanks!
  3. I've got a 1958 707B that's pushing a bit of oil from the breathers that gets the valve covers moist after running it for a couple of miles. .The breathers have been cleaned and I don't believe I have an overfill scenario (oil on stick is below upper mark but stick is kind of bowed), The engine runs good and strong with and occasional backfire pop on decel. There is a small crack in the rear head casting on drivers side at the #4 just above and next to the capped spark plug hole. This is a single ignition and the crack is on the iron casting and shows a very light oil seep after running it. Any thoughts from those who have dealt with these types of issues on those old 707 gasoline engines?
  4. I assume pump guages and pump levers are gone?
  5. After F.D.N.Y. was done with it in 1975, Rural Metro FD bought it and assigned it to Green Valley, AZ after painting it lime yellow! It went to private collectors afterwards and the man before me tried to get it back to an F.D.N.Y. appearance. However, the red is too dark and I will have to reinstall many items that are missing...but all in all, it's fairly complete. 2-3 years of work ahead including a complete repaint...
  6. Thanks! At this point just need 1 complete lever and knob.......I contacted the Ross company and perhaps can get some parts to reassemble the dump valve so it at least 'looks' complete....Let me know who I need to contact !
  7. That's the plan....trying to get one that is missing however...
  8. Thanks guys...See the picture below.....also, any help in trying to find the Ross dump valve is appreciated...I have a feeling it's going to be tough.
  9. The 'After C' satellite conversions were horrid. But the C cabs were literally destroyed and rotted out by time they were sent out. But, what a sin is right!
  10. Buy one brand new at EmbleMagic.com Takes a while..I've ordered one, should be finished this fall... http://emblemagic.com/myimages/emblempics/onesys/60MackFT.jpg
  11. Might be interested in the rear head assembly(I have a 707B engine with single dist) ....do you have Hale discharge levers(handles with knobs) ?
  12. The black knob is round about 3" diameter and has about a 12" long rod that's grooved at the end that pushes into top of the valve. It's the type you twist to lock....
  13. I'm in the need of a discharge knob/handle lever for a Hale 750 pump that's on my 1958 Mack C85...also need the adjuster handle assembly that would fit onto what was know as an intake 'dump valve' that was commonly used on FDNY rigs from the late 50's thru the late 70's. That valve is located on the lower rt side of the pump panel, many were mounted under the right side of the pump panel running step. All I have is the 2 1/2 fine threaded pipe that the handle assembly screwed onto.
  14. After seeing that FDNY R model hulk I don't feel quite so bad about my FDNY C85F any more!!!
  15. That looks like aluminum on your side steps (I can tell by the sharp edged diamonds in the pattern) and steel (smooth edged squared off diamonds) under the jump seats....aluminum can be buffed (will be hard on the buffing pad) and the steel needs silver paint. We used to mask off the red and apply the paint with a rag .....sponge brush might work as well..
