    First I must say that mack historical services does an incredible job! I just received a box from ups with everything about my 69 R -685T 9700 ... it was special ordered by Blue Arrow Express Inc. It was ordered then reorder with changes. I received pages of hand written sheets with part number changes. It is beautifully put together and personalized to my name and VIN. I recommend that everyone make a nice donation to them. Not only did they give me all the information on my truck, they gave me a complete service manual,owners manual, mack history booklets and a personalized thank you letter. Has anyone ever heard of Blue Arrow Express inc?

    I have 2 MR Macks with the Hendrickson haul max suspension. .. the trucks ride better and they last longer than the camelback and are cheaper to rebuild. The rears don't walk they have dual transverse rods and shocks. I also had one with ridewell suspension that works just as good if not better I never replaced anything on it and had it for 10 years and it was used when I got it. . But it had disc brakes they stopped on a dime but very troublesome. .. changed the rear to drums

    Did anyone go to the museum ... I did and gave myself a treat. . I ventured around the building and had another show. .. besides seeing all the new trucks there for the track road test and repair before delivery there were about 6 classic Macks waiting restoration and Macks own all wheel drive R model with a sander ... There was also a bay with 2 old Macks under restoration I know one was a B model couldn't make out the other ... There was pallets of new chrome bumpers and mud flaps and assorted new parts on racks outside. .. I laughed and said if it was new york by Monday morning all the bumpers would be stolen hahaha

    What broke in your transmission. .. I asked another driver that drove it a week ago and he said every once and a while when you come out of 4th pre selected you can hear it grind coming out but went into 5th fine with no noises

    I have to ask the driver. The claims that it was Ok when he parked it on Friday and Saturday as soon as he pulled out it didn't work. Sounds odd to me

    I have a 1995 RD with a E7 350 with a Mack 13 speed ... the problem is with Hi range. When you flip the splitter you hear it clack like it's supposed to but it goes into neutral low range is fine .. no noises from trans. Any suggestions?

    To check if it's a turbo take the pipe off from the turbo to the air charge cooler and see if it has oil in it ... it kinda sounds like valve seals to me

    I was told to just reverse the wires on the gauges

    Thanks that's what I remember doing but it's been since the 80 ' s ... no cb yet it has a radio with a converter but the converter blew ... only reason I want to go negative ground is I'm putting ac satellite radio and other creature comforts

    Thanks. .. I did a search and found that post. .. I'm getting conflicting information. .. change gauge, switch wires on the buss bars and so on ... I did this conversation many years ago on the 71 DM in the picture you see in my signature. I only remember changing the alt. And the amp and temp gauge but I think I can just reverse the wires on the gauge

    Can anyone tell me how to convert my 69 R -685T to negative ground? I keep getting different answers from mechanics I know.

    You can put a E-6 2 valve in her with a 5 speed ... might have to change the rear ratio depending on what you have
