  1. Apparently the Kenworth had a blow out on the steer. Both drivers are safe which is the main thing.
Wouldn’t wanna be out there changing all them tyres though! It’s a horrible stretch of road due to all these trucks.

    nice find TimB

it may have been imported by the yanks and used @ the Exmouth base .... then sold off

as recently as 1963 that a naval town serving the US Naval Communication Station, Harold E. Holt, and the Learmonth RAAF Base, was established.

Your probably right there Swishy, I remember seeing the same truck for sale up at geraldton which isn’t too far from exmouth in the scale of things.

Did it have a bend in chassis behind the cab, or at the back of the cab ?

Western Traders had a 6x6 Flinstone many years ago that wasnt ex army

Came out with some oil drilling mob is what they told me

Had a drop in the chassis rails at the back of the cab

The chassis was pretty strange. Almost certainly was bent in some way, from the angle I looked it seemed as though it was deeper at the front and tapered down to a more usual size at the rear.

  4. The plot thickens, turns out they are actually AC breakers. Had 2 mates confirm that for me.
Yeah mine came out with 34’s and short wheelbase and single rail. All of that has been changed in the 36 years it’s been alive.
it also has an emergency shut off button, which activates the engine brakes to kill the engine. As well as the shell colours under the door rubbers.

    Thanks Paul.
Someone hypothesised that this type might have been used in fuel trucks.
Im not sure, but the spare ones I found were out of an old shell truck, and mine was a shell truck also. Something to ponder anyway.

  6. Hi everybody, hope all is well.
I’m replacing the dash in my old Mack. Doing a clean up of wiring and replacing a few other things while there.
I am after some circuit breakers to suit an Aussie R model, perhaps they were the same as the US ones? Alternatively have any of you changed to a different type?

    Any help is appreciated. 066FF356-1894-472D-A4E2-551BD15BD0A7.jpeg.73fb2c361a3b8a892fbe44d66f033c73.jpeg
