  1. Yepper. Got the rolling "meat locker" out of storage. Was headed down to the river as the fish aint a bitin due to the cool weather, so a fisherman had to dynamite them, and got more than he bargained for. The state hi-way that runs alongside the bank was covered with fish chunks so I get called to clean it up. After grabbin my new aluminum scoop shovel, truck and drivin down there, I was able to scrape up much needed fish parts for a new batter that I been workin on. There was so many fish parts that I spent great effort of about 1/2 hour scraping them up. I just hate when things go to waste.

It only got to about 80 degrees today so pretty sure nothing spoiled in the back of the truck. Plan to unload today and I'll let you know how the batter turns out.

    thanks-I can hardly wait.

  2. I spotted this truck near Peoria, Illinois Sunday. I was driving along minding my own binness when it pulled off the shoulder in front of me. Two guys jumped out and picked up a dead animal carcass, threw it in the back, and sped off. It even had a lift gate to make loading large animals easier. Had a swarm of flies chasing after it. I don't know what they were up to, they must work for the state cleaning up road kill.

  3. Looks like you were over the max upload quota. You must be a picture posting mad man! 71gb!!

The Pedigreed Bulldog group is now rewarded with unlimited uploads, but you really should clear out some old attachments or start using Photobucket to help save disc space by hotlinking images. Also, resizing photos to 600x800 helps a lot! Resizing is easy, just goto Windows Powertoys and download the Image Resizer. Then you can right click on a photo and select medium for an instant copy at 600x800! Nuttin' to it!

If you want to clean out some old attachments, goto your drop down bar at the top right of the screen and select "My Settings." Then you will see "Manage Attachments" on the left nav bar...select that and remove any images you can to save space.

ok, thanks Barry-i'm gonna clean house!

  4. Indeed, that's a great looking truck. That's not one you see everyday either. 220 Cummins-sound great! Congratulations on a great find and a tremendous deal, good luck with it. More pictures would be nice too, maybe pics of the other trucks too? Sounds a lot like the place NoClueJoe and I went to a while back and looked at some old trucks- like finding a gold mine, except he didn't give us one. (in my gallery,"Old Trucks in Cumberland")

I'll bet that pup would make a loyal friend for life. If you can put up with their yapping, Beagles are very good companions.

I had one once upon a time. Captain Billy Whizbang was his name. Good dog that seldom made a peep, and he was full blooded.

Otherdog do you now have another good ol dog at your house?

no, I asked her what happened to the dog and she said he probably ran off. I would have brought the dog home, and faced the consequences later.I just got "Other Dog" here.

  6. I'd be in the retrieval stage for whoever put the dog in the dumpster, and the county officer who said "push the button".

Then I'd take the worthless, pieces of shit human garbage and have them "drawn and quartered", before I got mad.

But then; I like beagles fried, baked, broiled, (open face of course), and BBQ'd.

    Rob

I'm just assuming it was the county, but it might be some company contracted to the county. Jo said the man told her his boss said to push the button, whoever his boss is.I think that's his main job,to push the button periodically. But at least he got the dog out.

  7. hate to tell this, long time ago, had fancy trash compactor in garage, would probably turn 6 bags of trash into one lil bale, opened it one day to put trash in, lil mouse sitting on top looking at me, slowly closed door and,,,"sob" dont hate me,,,I PUSHED THE BUTTON,,, there,,its out. I will never, ever forget that high pitched lil scream,,,sniffle,,,oh the pain! I thought i had all that behind me,,,thas mean bout dog though,,later,,randy

yeah, a rat's one thing-but a beagle? that IS mean.

  8. Stopped by the dumpster a while ago to throw away a bag of trash. There was a man walking near the dumpster and Jo mentioned that she saw him last week at the dumpster. He tried to get her to take a young beagle that someone had thrown INTO the dumpster. He climbed in and got the dog out. This dumpster has a button you can press to compact the trash, and the man said he called the county office and told them about the dog and they told him from now on to "just push the button, don't get into the dumpster anymore."

He did the right thing to save the dog, and whoever put the little dog in there ought to be in jail. Or if I were King and found out who did it i'd sentence them to spend a weekend in that dumpster-"go ahead, throw that garbage in there. Just ignore that person in there-just pretend they're not even there...yeah, of course you can throw that old TV in! By the way, you wouldn't happen to have an old piano at home you want to dispose of would you?". Would serve 'em right.

  9. I just finished mowing the yard and hear a big rig coming down my street. I live in a dead end allotment so this is not normal. I saw that Mack and knew who it was.

It would be pretty normal if it had been me, as I tend to get lost a lot. As in "d@^^ it, how the %* am I supposed to get out of here?!!"

  10. I see this is back on TV-I've been watching it some, since the truck's been in the shop and work's been slow. Saw 2 of the big RD's, one with a knuckle boom mounted on it, and one of the Pelletier brothers drove one and hauled a load of wood with it, grossing 220,000 lbs. Another of the brothers just got a brand new truck, but he didn't get a Titan. He got another Western Star, a triaxle with a 625 Cat. He liked the power but didn't like how it steered on the slick road with the triaxle.

  11. Hello all. I have been a Mack fan for years and have my second Mack and thought I would join some fellow fans. My first Mack was a 91 superliner self loader log truck (sold it) I now have a 79 RW flat deck tractor. I'm hoping I can find info about the engine and general stuff about drive train. Thanks for having me

    :WELCOME:

  12. I don't get no Chitlins around the house no more. They give me gas. That in itself is not all that bad, but Momma would always get pissed off at me before the night would be over. Especially when I give her a late night "Dutch Oven".

She really DOES NOT like that.

    Rob

I remember my grandfather cleaning and cooking chitterlings when I was a kid. They smelled so bad cooking I didn't want any parts of them. I've heard a lot of people say they're delicious-LOTS of people- but i'll agree with my late best friend David Elder, who always said "there's too much good meat on a hog to be eating the guts and the brain".

  13. Rob. love that part of WI. been up at the race track 3 times this year already.. not sure what way you go back home but you will be passing near my place. Im 20 miles west of I94, 10 miles south of the IL WI line. Rt 12 and 120 if you look at a map. I might have friday off of work so feel free to call me if I can buy you lunch.

    Trent

I took a load of kyanite to a place on rt. 12 many years ago. Don't remember the name of the place, but it was just south of the Wisconsin line. Close enough to throw a rock into Wisconsin I think. And close enough to throw a rock to the weigh station that I didn't know was there. They nabbed me before I delivered. The weight limit was still 73,280 in Illinois then.
