Dammit Man !!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, they sold it in 16 oz. cans over at the store in Gladys- cheapest beer in the store. If you're going to Colfax this fall I'll bring you some.

Put your photo chop skills to work!!!!!
The photo cutting program that I used to use has expired, I'll renew it again whenever we get good internet here. Firefly is supposed to be coming, "this summer" is what they told us. My son said "when you see a big black cable rolled up and hanging from a power pole, it won't be long then". There's been a big roll of cable hanging from a power pole since we've been here, but no high speed internet yet. We have something from T Mobile now I think 🤔, or maybe it's US Cellular, so Zina can work, but we only get so much data, so I'm afraid to get on my PC much.

Overnite was never a union company either, they always voted against unionizing. And two good friends of mine that I've known since my teens worked for Overnite. One is the one who drove the B model to Roanoke, the other is his first cousin. I've seen where people called them a scab company on Facebook pages before, not for crossing anybody's picket line but because they were never a union company to start with. And I've never heard anybody that ever worked for Overnite have anything but good to say about them because Mr. Cochrane took care of his people, they didn't need to go union.

Is that the one that's in the Transportation Museum in Roanoke? A friend of mine drove it up there from Richmond if it is. He worked for Overnite for a long time, mostly in the shop. He was the only one that could even drive the B model, so he took it to Roanoke.

Tom, You can add mine to that picture also! And the long list of other "Fallen Flags" that are gone. .....Hippy
Yep, that's a good picture, if there was an Overnite truck in there with them it would be a great picture!

You would be surprised bud with the prices these days. Good luck hell I forgot all about that Chevy. Lol
JT formula, he's the car guy on here, had the GMC General, said the average retail was $12,250. My car guy here who was going to sell it for me said he was going to put $10,900 on it, and JT said that would be a good price. We were going to put the money towards the Nissan, but we still put 20 down and they gave her 24 for the CR-V, so we did ok. I know I'll take a beating on the F150 but there's no reason to keep it and keep paying for insurance and taxes on it.

All gone.
That's not my picture, I saw it on Facebook.

I am Tom congratulations on the move up another thing about the new Broncos were wondering why there’s so many of them being turned in with low mileage and where the prices are so high on secondhand????????? Bob
Thanks Bob. I decided to keep my car. I washed it and blackened the tires and said "that's a damn good looking car. I really like that car. I should keep that car". And it makes way more sense than keeping the Ford, when we got finished moving we won't need it anymore because we have a new truck. But it'll be good to have a nice car too, for just running around town. Like I've said, I'd get in it right now and take off to anywhere with confidence.
I know I'll never get near as much for the Ford as I've put in it, but there's no sense in keeping it really. That 300 runs really good too, smooth as a clock.

I might not get to drive it myself anymore, I'll just have to drive the old F150 with the new starter. I drove it for a test drive, Zina didn't want to because it's so big. The hood did look longer than a Kenworth hood, even to me. Way bigger looking than her Honda CR-V. So I left the lot driving it home, but I pulled over on 460 at Moore's Country Store and asked her if she wanted to drive the rest of the way, 460 is 4 lane, open highway, and she said yes.
Then we found a $3,000 mistake they had made and we went right back to Lynchburg to get that straight, $3,000 is $3,000, and she drove it up there and back.

Apparently it doesn't work here anymore either, it was the dealership page with that particular truck on it, had lots of pictures. They probably took it down because they sold it. Anyway, it looks like this- I left that plastic bowl in the yard, Zina threw it off the front porch at a squirrel 🤣

Tom and Zina,
Looks like you got a great deal!! Maybe a few too many electrical gadgets!!!! In 2014 When I bought Ram 3500 I was able to pay for it by combining both our 401 required distributions and paid it off direct deposit.
My daughter in Cheshire Conn had her VW SUV stolen right out of the attached garage, at 10 AM in the morning, because the keys laying on the kitchen counter were close enough to the sensor so the kids could start it and drive away.. All of it caught on video security camera.. Cops found it and another stolen car, that was in the driveway video, about 25-30 miles away.. Interiors trashed, radio stolen, overhead console tore up, and other misc stuff.
Told son in law to put a manual cutout switch in either the starter solenoid circuit or the electric fuel pump circuit and hide the switch under the dash where it is convenient to operate..
Yeah, I don't even know what it's got or how to work anything. I'll read the manual a bit and see what I can learn. The owners manual has never even been opened, still wrapped in plastic. The one that came with Zina's Honda was over 600 pages!
I asked the salesman why it was even traded in the first place with so few miles, and he said the guy got a new one every year.

A Nissan what ?
Work ute is a Nissan Navara, looks very similar, goes okay but has coil sprung back end so it is perfect for most things except it rides a little different with a ton in the back than leaf spring back end, but honestly how many times do we ever do that
Doesn't do a bad job though, hope it all works out okay for you as Im sure it will

Zina has today off and I'll use some of the PTO that I've built up to go to Lynchburg to look at pickups today. As much as I hate to, because it's such a great car, I'm going to sell my 2016 Impala and we're going to trade her Honda in. It's a 2022 with only 28,000 miles on it. Figured we might get the best deal on it at the Honda place, and they have several used 4 door pickups. A couple of Dodges, an F150, and a couple of Colorados. I really like the Silverado 1500s myself, but if the Colorado has a big enough back seat it might be OK. Anybody have any thoughts, suggestions?

Nope a few years old than that, not that it matters, once your body decides enough is enough, it doesn't care about the calendar
I didn't plan on stopping this early but sometimes you have to go with the flow.
I talked to a man today who said his wife was going to get the arthritis "scraped from her hands" because she couldn't open her hands completely. I didn't even know they could do that, but mine are the opposite - I don't have any problem opening my hands, but I can't close either one into a fist, not even close. That's why I've dropped so many cameras.

Well, I spent hours filing every tooth on that flywheel. Maybe twice, I think I might have missed the mark I put on it when I started. I didn't put a spot of paint, but I did what I thought was just as good- I scratched a smiley face around a hole in the flywheel. But it started right up, twice, no issues after I put the starter on. Hopefully it'll be good for a while.

Yes....... i have a triangle file that cuts great..
I have a flat file, but It's a big one. Probably too big to fit between the teeth. I'll see if they have a small flat file at NAPA when I get the starter. Or Tractor Supply. Better to spend some time doing that than having to pull the transmission. I'd have to pay someone to do that, I couldn't handle that by myself on the ground. I'd pull the transmission out of my Nova and put a clutch in it in an afternoon, by myself. Did it several times, but that was almost 50 years ago!

Forgive me for not knowing, but do Blue Ovals require shimming the starter like Bow Ties do?
There was no shims on this one. I was happy to find just 2 bolts. When it wouldn't move I was afraid there was a third bolt back there by the engine block that I couldn't see, but nope, just those 2.
