  1. We appreciate the invite, but are unavailable to come up. If I didn't have to work Fri. & Sat. I would come and visit, Have to drive though

I would hate to know how much plane tickets would cost

you can fly into Gladys International cheap, they have the discount airline service.Bring your own peanuts, and I hope you don't mind being delayed while they dust a few crops on the way

  2. Actually there's a joke with it, but i can't remember how it fully goes. Everyone at work has been jokin about gettin their camels instead of their "Economic Stimulus Checks" or whatever....inside joke someone started i guess, kinda funny.

Whenever Obama was elected wonder if someone said "Damn we're in a tight spot"....lol

i'm gonna make camel stew with mine. might let it set for a couple of weeks, then make the stew before it starts to turn on me.

If you ever come up here to visit, you've got to meet Jeff. I think he can recite the entire movie.

  3. Happy Thanksgiving to You and the Family Paul, I wouldn't worry about the economy though Obama's new plan is instead of Stimulus checks is giving out camel's...lol Just messin with ya bud, but I gotta go feed mine 1 for me and Amber, and a baby one for the boys....... :D , Have a safe one Paul

 "that don't make no sense Everette"...Pete

  4. Chef-boy-R-Tom, Sounds like u made it the rest of the way in after I talked to ya. Me, Amber and the boys are coming in on the midnight flight lol....I've been tryin to watch my figure, but with all that food i don't think i could contain myself.

come on over, i'll pick you up at Gladys International Airport. My pies contain no fat, sugar, or calories

  5. A white christmas would be nice for once, but hopefully there won't be too much snow on whenever you get the b-67 out. Kinda wish I had a big enough shop for racks and such. I'm gonna get me a storage shed for the 4 wheeler, lawnmower, etc. I have one open side then half of another, but need the room for my detroit motor for the swap into the ford. Have a good one bud....

I had a good size shed I built at the old house, complete with a "cook shed" on one end of it where I kept my grill and smoker oven. Had a freezer plus all my tools and equipment in the shed, now it's all stuffed in this little metal shed out back, so full I can't get in it, and can't find anything because something's on top of it,no matter what i'm looking for.

Wish I could find a picture of the old cook shed to scan, but alas , my scanner still won't work. It was nice though, used it in all kinds of weather.

  6. The chicken looks good!

Not so sure about putting the squirrels on a can

for dinner - but, it might be worth a try.

it was good, this method usually works well. I burned it on the bottom a little, because the oven has the partition in the bottom between the oven and the fire and the grill doesn't, that's why I put some foil under it. I'll just stick a squirrel on a stick and roast it.

  7. I agree - charcoal is better, and the flavor can be

"adjusted" with different wood chips, either wet or dry.

There is nothing like de-strapped ribs slow cooked over

charcoal with a lot of carmelized "customized" barbeque sauce.

And beer. Can't forget the essentials.

I've been experimenting, and the best method I've tried yet is

    layering the racks of ribs on top of each other, two or three high;

turn the bottom one to the top often, and rotate the sides facing down

for a really slow, even cook. Brown each side up real good before adding

any sauce. Then keep on cooking with the sauce just getting nice and dark.

    Mmm -mm.

Gotta go - I'm heading out now to get charcoal. Made myself hungry.

...and you were asking ME about cooking ribs? I could take a few lessons from you! But I usually only do one rack at a time, since there's just the two of us.

  8. It's getting toward turkey cooking season.

Time to start passing around those lies ....

    I mean recipes.

Got a few new ideas to try. And hoping to put

a couple of wild birds in the freezer this fall.

    I like them a lot.

And I still think that mixer would make the absolute best portable

pit BBQ cooker in the world!!

If not a cooker, then we could use it to dispense the sauce!!

Johnsonville Brats owns the best cooking grille I've ever seen.

They took a 45' or so stainless tank trailer - split it horizontally,

hinged one side, added a catwalk on the other side, put the proper

hardware & grille racks in for gas burners, and it is about as cool as you can get.

It gets pulled from site to site with a nice looking tractor. Not nearly as cool as as

an antique hot rod Mack, but not too bad none the less.

    Something to think about ---

    Paul VS

I do all my cooking with charcoal and wood-tastes great, more flavor. Just ask Peggy or Bobby Hill-they had to sneak off to cook with charcoal, because they couldn't bear to tell Hank charcoal's better than gas! :D

    :Mixer1:

  9. Did you ever think about just faxing us all a sammich. Dang it boy, recipe's don't taste all that good.

the way this computers been acting up I probably can't even e-mail you a sammich. something seems to have quit working every time I use it, so pretty soon I don't expect anything to work.

    :(

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer, but it wouldn't reinstall at all. Everything worked but the scanner at first, but now I can't print, scan or copy!

  10. So let's get right to the important stuff -

    How was the pork loin?

    PVS

delicious, as usual :D I coated it with the rub and wrapped it in plastic while I went to the store, then cooked it when I got back. When it was done I wrapped it in wreynolds wrap and covered it with bbq sauce and left it on the grill for a while. Sliced a good part of it to take with me for sammiches. I should send you a sample of the rub, just thought of that.

It's made of common seasonings, herbs, and spices, plus some secret ingredients. It's secret because I don't even remember what's in it exactly-the FBI crime lab could probably tell though.

  11. YEAH ITS A W900 I HAVE THE KITCHEN TABLE FOR A HOOD!!! LOL!! BUT I DID HAVE SOMETHING INERESTING HAPPEN TODAY!! A BUNCH OF 16 YR OLD KIDS DECIDED TO PULL OUT IN FRONT OF ME ON A SLICK ROAD IN MY PICK UP TRUCK!!! I HAD ALL OF 5 FT TO TRY AND STOP....... NOT SO EASY TO DO IN THE RAIN.

I drove a W900L before the pete- it was my all time favorite truck.

  12. Man, there is nothing like a computer to make you feel

totally helpless. At least at my level of expertise.

But it's even worse, I'd say, if someone is doing damage

    to his friend's equipment.

And - he's probably laughing about it too!

Sound like we ought to put out a warning - that we

could be marching on Tennessee real soon!

    PVS

I don't know about the warning part- he's probably filling sand bags like mad and piling them around his house now!

Probably can't find any pork and beans, bottled water, or ammo anywhere in Lafollette now, so he can withstand a long siege.

  13. I talked to Old Bill this morning on windows live messenger. Well, not really talked, we typed back and forth. The audio still works on skype (as far as I know) but he said his big unit (pc) blew up and it was at the computer doctor. He was on a linux unit he has and live messenger was the only windows program he could get on at all. Anyway, he told me to try a program called Reg Cure. It had a free download, and it's supposed to fix pretty near any problem you might have with your pc, and make it way faster-bigger,better, stronger I guess. So I downloaded the free version and it found 1,167 errors on my pc. The free version fixed 2 of them. The not-free version to fix the rest of the issues was $29.95. I went ahead and installed it, and uninstalled and installed the quickcam again, but it still doesn't work. Bill said it sounded like a DLL problem-I don't know what a DLL is, and didn't know I had one. Now I just hope the camera starts working again on it's own, like by magic or something. But that's not likely to happen.

  14. What are you going to do Now?

you know, Daddyslilgurl is another one that's been missing for some time now. Hope she didn't get sent to her room again.

NO I HAVENT BEEN SENT TO MY ROOM!!!!! IVE BEEN DRIVIN A KENWORTH TRIAXLE SCINCE I GOT MY CDL..... I DONT HAVE MY OWN COMPUTER SO I HAVE TO CON MY LIL BROTHER IN TO LETTING ME IN HIS ROOM........ OR SNEAK IN WHEN HES NOT HOME. SO I GET ON WHEN IM ABLE TO.. I TRY BUT IT DOESNT HAPPEN TOO OFTEN :P

hey, you've got seniority on him! you're supposed to tell him what you're gonna do. I've got 2 brothers and a sister myself.

    Kenworth triaxle?..cool!

  15. We've had several hard frosts already, so we had to get

in our garden stuff a couple of weeks ago.

Hoping to gather a bunch of different hot peppers on

Saturday at the farmer's market - then it's off to the lab

    for experimentation.

    I'll keep you posted.

Ugly pumpkin - by the way.

    Have a good week.

    PVS

cain't help it about that ugly punkin'- I took a picture of myself, blew it up to full screen size, printed it and taped it on the pumpkin. Then I just carved it by tracing the picture...

  16. 3000 miles makes for a pretty good week!

And - that tire didn't look like it just went flat.

    What's up with that?

    PVS

I ran over an unknown object right before that exit ramp i'm on near Ellerbe,N.C. and by the time I got on the ramp and pulled over the tire was destroyed. There was a hole right in the center of the tread almost big enough to stick your finger through. Or maybe it was a sniper attack...
