  1. Running off choke! I didn't do it so I don't know what fixed it lol
  2. I didn't look at all 24 pages, not tonight anyhow. There is a family in Bradford ri that runs some nice autocars I'll make it a point to swing by and snap some pics
  3. From the album: RI

Leach refuse getter mounted on '47 mack. #westerlyri #ezwaste
  4. @j hancock Your so right about that garbage trucks generally get used to the point where they are beyond repair. Luckily we found this ol girl and 2 others in an old bone yard. We picked all three of them up and come up with this at the end. We actually just sold one to a trash museum in Sanford Florida last week. All in all I've seen about 10 of them(pictures only) on the internet.
  5. Thanks guys, the mack isn't finished yet but we got it to present well at the parade.
  6. In westerly ri the Columbus Day parade is a big deal so we thought it'd be cool to join with our oldest and newest trucks 1947 Mack EF with the Leach Refuse Getter 2014 Peterbilt 348 with PakMor RDG-120
  7. I haven't gotten my hands into this personally, I'll get some details tomorrow. Getting down to crunch time we really want to run in a local parade in a couple weeks. It'll run just gotta choke it. Feeling bad for whoever in behind us lol
  8. 1947 mack EF with an e290 flathead 6 gas engine. Freshly rebuilt carburetor but still can't run the truck with out full choke. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
  9. A guy who works for me is a volunteer firefighter, this weekend he went to some sort of tournament on Long Island. It was a "JOL tourney" I'm assuming jaws of life. Not sure if that' could be where the trucks were coming from?
  10. Speaking of bear hunting, a guy I know goes to Alaska every year to hunt grizzlys, elk, moose. He is lucky to be home for our deer season after being attacked by a grizzly... Legit got mauled by a bear, good thing there was 2 other guys with him that we're able to spook the bear by shooting into the air.
  11. RI bow season is sept 15-Jan 31
  12. Not sure of the laws in ga or the season, but if its too late to actually get your stuff together for hunting you should try photography. If I go into the woods without a weapon I'm carrying a camera. It may sound easy but try to spot a deer in the woods or have one walk by without getting noticed.
  13. With the ri archery season open its all I can think about. Anybody out there hunt? Got any good stories?
  14. Truck hits the scale @33,620 empty, works out perfect for the size of the body. Ill post some "finished" pics after we get some vinyl on it.
  15. I should have shared what I know... This truck was restored by the Schaaf truck and tractor museum in Frankfort ill. It was sold at auction in sept of 2007. The winning bid was $125,000! It's current whereabouts are unknown. The above info is from classicrefusetrucks.com
  16. Always liked this truck but the info about it seems to be top secret. Until last week I'd never thought to ask you guys, so speak up! Anybody know who owns it?
  17. There is a ton of crap under the hood, one good thing is the filters are accessible....
  18. It's a heavy unit empty, it's a split body so twice as many packer parts. This week we'll see what the weights are, and the kids are swinging off the back like we still do in RI. We're old school, still using carry barrels and going in backyards for the trash/recycling. It's got the paccar 350hp and yes the fronts are 315 80r22.5
  19. I've got an old L8000 that would look good on a ship, who can I contact to get in on the exporting? Rumor has it they pay good money, anybody know about this?
