  1. Here is a picture I took back in the early '80s. It's a scan of an old Polaroid. Taken at the Crazy Eddie Diesel Truckin' Nationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park. Bob McLain from Buttzville, NJ was the owner at the time. Wheels of Time cover added for your enjoyment.
  2. Great shot of the DM lowboy. You even got the old "Hydro-Pruf" building in the background. Fans of "The Sopranos" saw that same building in the opening credits.
  3. Paul, that Payhauler is a pretty stout unit. I'm guessing that it got the job done. Here's a equally big wrecker that the picture owner states had worked on the Alaskan Highway. Big Sicard with NJTP authority to boot. Found on Hank's Truck Pictures, Chris Sissick and Mark B. Simiele respectively.
  4. I forgot about the High Point DM wrecker..............that thing is a beast!!! Great pics guys!
  5. Early R-model wrecker found on the web.
  6. This one has the factory "speed holes". Pic found on the web of a truck belonging to Don Robertson.
  7. They are from the Ron Carey collection. Very nice trucks that are restored to the same high standards as the Mahan Collection trucks.
  8. That stretch-nose on the '51-53 integral sleeper cab would suggest an big L-Head straight six under the hood. Dodge trucks wouldn't get the Hemi V8 until '54 when they switched to the "trapezoid" grille. I had to check in Dodge Trucks by Don Bunn book to verify. It's a shame it was scrapped as not many exist.
  9. They belong to a M-B car dealer (Contemporary Motor Cars) in Little Silver, NJ.
  10. First time I've ever seen these 3 sweethearts. All three were immaculate.
  11. Medium-size show on all concrete surface. I'm gonna say about about 50 trucks. Weather was threatening all day but just a passing drizzle. They had the potential to get a lot more trucks because it was heavily promoted.
  12. Spotted today at the 2014 White Bash in South Brunswick, NJ. Campbell Freightliner hosted this year's show with a nice selection of White Motor Company trucks. The Stainless Steel Edgcomb truck was neat to see in person.
  13. I figured I would resurrect an old thread. Caught these fine specimens at the 2014 White Bash in South Brunswick, NJ just this morning. It was a nice little White-theme show with a few other brands sprinkled in. Enjoy! '66 U609T on the hook and an '85 DM with worn out Bristol-Donald body. Plus two local firetrucks.
  14. I love those old A64F Autocars. I remember as a kid a local fuel oil company had a black day cab tandem that was always clean. That wrecker has a massive Donaldson air cleaner on it.
  15. You have to see this truck in person to get a good sense of its size. Taken at Macungie in '06. 1951 950.
  16. The Diamond T pickups were in a class all by themselves!
  17. 2 beauties taken at Springfield ATHS Show 2012.
  18. Captured this long hood at Macungie this year.
  19. Found this one on the net. Overdrive Magazine March 1970.
  20. Good stuff Mark! It's great that a moment in your family's history was captured for future generations to see. Having worked on a farm myself as a young lad I can appreciate the dedication and hard work involved with farming and getting the goods to market. It was a rough life but it made me appreciate the little things a lot more.
  21. Caught this old beauty at a local car show today in Bordentown, NJ. They still use it for parades. Only info said it was a '47.
  22. When I saw that parked in the row I was drawn to it like a magnet! Excellent example of a "survivor". Leave it that way, IMO. Don't get me wrong, I like shiny trucks just like everyone else, but I like trucks with character too.
  23. Well, there you go! I always referred to them as Autocar "Lite".
  24. That's gotta be at the top of the list of awesome things that a truck restorer/owner can hope to achieve. As others have posted before me, well done and a heck of an accomplishment.
