My brother and I are repainting a 1999 CH613 and we would like to freshen up the door jamb paint. Is the door jamb paint the same paint that you would use on the dash? If it is then can't you buy it in spray cans from Mack?
Thanks,
Scott

I have another question. Does Mack make the black textured vinyl in a roll, for the part of the dash with the gauges and swithches? And how much do the cans of spray paint cost from Mack for your dash? That doesn't make much sense that you can't get new interior parts for a R-model cab when they just stopped making them just a few years ago.

What is the height and the length of the plate?
Thanks,
Scott

I was wondering wheather Mack made a vinyl dye "simigloss paint" to refinish a R-model dash that the finish is worn through on. Or to paint an old tan dash to match the newer style Mack interior. Also I thought someone told me that you can't buy new interior parts for R-models is that true or not??
Thanks,
Scott

Where do you get your models from?

Whatever you do don't do the things your friend does! I just lost a friend last night from a car accident that was caused by drinking. And I lost another one last year because the person driving her was drunk and wreaked.

I e-mailed Goody's Truck Parts about two E9s they had and they e-mailed me back and said "Sorry to say a gentleman from out of the country was just in our facility and bought all the E9 motors we had." Mack needs to start making E9s again.

You have one good looking Superliner Does it have a V8 or 6 cylinder? We had problems finding an E9 about five years ago. However we found one that needed rebuilt and had to pay big bucks for it. I might need another one so if anyone knows where another one is you can tell me.

I got one picture of my superliner on my page if anyone is interested too.
Post some pictures of your truck. I'd like to see it.

My brother and I are painting one of my dad's CH Macks and we need to take the glass out. I've got the wing glass unbolted, the window track unbolted, glass unbolted from the track, and both door handles taken out. I can't figure out how the wing glass comes out. I think if it comes out the rest should slide out. We need it out pretty soon. Anybody know any tricks? Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks,

looks like it was a sweet truck before the corrosion got to it. That trunion looks like it would tear off the frame under a hard pull LOL. Does the truck have any story behind it that you know?
Yea I think the frame would break off behind the sleeper. The guy I bought the truck from said the people who had it before him got it reposesed because they owed a good bit of money for motor work. So he bought it and wanted to make it a over the road truck. Since the frame was corroded on his truck he bugged my father to buy my truck. So we almost sold my truck to him because he wanted to swap motors. Luckly he didnt come back to buy it. The motor must be destine for my truck. He also told me the previous owner used to haul 120,000 pounds with that single aluminum frame. I dont think I would have wanted that much weight on a single frame. I would love to see some pics of it when it was new. Thats all I know about it.

what are your plans for the sleeper, i may be interested, Thanx, Jon
I'm not attached to the sleeper so I could take some pictures of it if you want me to. Just tell me if you want me to. You don't want to put that sleeper on your nice looking truck do you?

I Just bought a 1975 RL700L on Monday. I can't wait to tear into it. It's got a nice sounding ENDT866 375 V8 in it. Its the first time I have heard one since I was about five years old. It has a single aluminum frame that is corroded really bad. So I bought it for parts. I'm gonna take the motor out and pull the pan and check it out. Then I'll put a bearing kit in it and replace the front and rear main seals. My plan is to put the motor in my 1977 RS700L. The parts truck has been sitting since 88' is their anything else I should do to the motor before I put it in my 77'? It doesnt look like its going to be too hard to swap motors. I know I'm going to mess somthing up in the wiring since it has positve ground.

When did they stop making the E9 in Australia? Did they ever make it an electronic engine or was it still a mechanical engine when they stopped making them?

Yeah Trents ol RS700 is pretty sweet, i seen it pull to, check out the pictures of my RS700 Trents seen it in person. Its alrite~Jon
Jon, you have one of the nicest RS700L's I have seen! I would have liked to see you and Trent pull those old R-models. What kind of motor does it have in it?
Scott

Nice pictures!
I live about an hour away from Waynesburg. I going to have to go to those pulls next year! A lot of nice Macks. My father also knows Lawrence McElroy, the guy with the blue West Virginia Moutaineer cab over Kenworth. He only lives about 15 minutes away.

Barry, that is a really nice RS700. I wish mine looked like that one. Do you know how much a rebuild kit for an ENDT866 375 V8 would cost me? How hard are they to get?
Thanks,
Scott
Also I was wondering what are the small aluminum boxes in front of the battery boxes? My truck has fiberglass 1/4 fenders there instead of those small boxes.

I recall one here in Nz back in the early 80's with a 8V71 jimmy, It may have come in as a glider kit. Like the V8 badges, can you still obtain them somewhere.
Nigel
Nigel, if you click on The B-Model Store link, then click on the b-model restoration parts link. The V8 badges are #205 towards the bottom of the page. $50.00 US each.

You have a real nice looking RS700L. What do you think of mine? My dad wasn't real good about taking pictures of our trucks, so those are the only ones I've got of it. I put a wheel and tire on the passenger side and was going to drag it out and do body work on it last October but we didn't finish getting it out of the weeds. Now I want to get the motor running first then do body work. I would love to hear the old girl run again.

for the past 2 years i have liked a b-42 mack tandem axel dump truck located in a junkyard near my home it needs the back window and the 3 of the door glasses replaced, half the seat, engine block is cracked, has minor surface rust on the fenders and the box needs to be repaired a bit. its going for 2,000 dollars and i want to know if i should buy this truck i dont plan on dumping a bunch of money into it beacuse for some weird reason i like the wore out look it has is it worth the sale price...and why is there no rust on it-rotted through- any where? lead paint maybee?
Your not from Ohio are you? I saw a black tandem axel b model dump at the West Point junkyard. I think they were wanting around $2,000 for it. The one your talking about sounds like it needs a lot of time and money invested into it. Truck parts get expensive real quick.

I have a 77' RS700L with a 375 V8 motor. My grandfather bought it new at the Louisville truck show and it has been in the family ever since then. I have had a lot of people tell me that was the wildest and fastest truck around in its day. My father worked the truck hauling coal untill the motor blew up in 94'. So he parked it and has been stealing parts here and there ever since then. I have another motor for it. I'm gonna take two and make one. I was wondering if any of you guys know about how much an over haul kit would be for a 375 V8? I looked at the valve cover tonight and it said it was an ???866. Does that sound right? I want to fix the motor and start restoring it.
I'm going to post some pictures of it in my gallery. It started out green and brown then went to white and marroon and is now blue and white
Thanks for any replies,
Scott

my father swapped his 350 for a500 back in 1997 he bought a v8 test engine for 6500 dollars it only had 5000 miles. but it ended up costing him 25000 all togeather because he had to change all the brackets and the radiator. he bought the truck brand new in 1989 he could of ordered it with the v8 for 10000 more but he didnt want to spend the money. he is happy that he swapped but he should have just spent the extra money when the truck was new. we still have the truck the v8 now has 325000 miles on it and about 20000 hours and still runs strong.last fall we had to change the radiator again because of overheating problems. our dealer said that that was the last radiator in the country. it cost 2000 dollars and was bigger than the one that was in the truck i dont think the one that was init was the right one because after he put the v8 in he had overheating problems every summer. he had to keep blowing the radiator out because it would get filled with dust.the truck is a89 rw 713 triaxle log truck with a log loader on the back. it has 3 tone paint like the one on the pamphlets in 88 or89 charcoalgray marroon and silver. supposedly it was the first truck that was really painted like that. ihave only seen 2 other trucks painted like that. does any one know how many were painted that color.
Where did he find a V8 test engine at? That sounds like a great find for the price. My father had three superliners all together. One was a 89' RW713 with a E9 500, triaxle equipment truck that he still has. It has a bad crank so its just sitting. He also had two 88's or 89's superliners with 350's. One was a marroon with silver stripping and the other was a darker marroon with charcoal stripping. Maybe one of them looked like your fathers truck. I'd like to see a picture of your fathers truck.
I posted some pics of the trucks. Check out my gallery.
