  1. Mack Firetruck Fans- I am a volunteer FireFighter from Radnor Fire Company we have a 1954 Mack B75F Pumper (see attached picture). We are having our 100th anniversary Parade, May 6th in Wayne Pa. (Near Valley Forge-and King Of Prussia about 25 miles west of Phila). We are having awards for best appearing Mack Fire Truck and best appearing B Model Mack Firetruck as well as lots of food and refreshments! Harvey Eckart will be attending and judging the antiques. If you can make it we would love to have a great showing of all Macks! PS We also have E1 and Seagraves so if you have modern firetrucks trucks we would love to have them also! Email with any questions and I can provide more details and the invitation and award categories Firemack
  2. Mike, Nice Trucks, Whats in the Jimmy 8v71? I have always wanted to get one with the v12. I saw one a Macungie last year. I am also a Volunteer FF we have 3 E1's 2 Seagraves, 1 1954 B75 Mack, 2 ambulances and 2 chiefs trucks. I guess I should post them so we can swap stories. I am near Valley Forge, Pa if you get up this way let me know. Firemack
  3. I have the 464 little brother to the 510. The oil pressure line does connect at the governor. There is no pressure sending unit as it uses the mechanical Oil Pressure gauge. Firemack
  4. I have a brand new 12' roof ladder, my ladder supply company ordered a 12' instead of the 14' I needed and I ended up having to buy it. Let me know if you are interested. Firemack
  5. Rick, Nice job detailing all of the little items, anyone who has done one knows it takes a lot of time and perserverance to get these done nicely, Keep up the good work and hope to see it at Lititiz next year, Firemack
  6. You can have both the fuel pump and master cylinder rebuilt. White Post Restorations does a great job rebuilding the master cylinder. I think he did my B75 Master cylinder for about $100 http://www.whitepost.com/ Kanter can rebuild the fuel pump for about $80. http://www.kanter.com/ You can also have the mechanical fuel pump be the primary and add a valve and switch to add an elctric fuel pump as backup, but once it's rebuilt you won't have any problems and can keep it original. Fred, I would like to keep it original, I did find one 1951 464 in Charlotte, so I can use the crank and pistons from that as donor to my block and may have the right parts, I can't tell until i get confirmation on the info from the owner. Thanks for the help! Firemack

Fred, Was this guy Richard Wilbur, He had an old B75 Firetruck and replaced his 464 with a 673 Diesel. I lost his contact info if you have it that would be great. Firemack

Hi Fred, My 464 spun #2 rod and the crank needs to be turned down to .30 and mains to .10-.20, recondition all of the rods and to top that off, I have .25 runout on the cylinder walls so need to bore it out sleeve and replace the pistons, adding up all that work and parts it makes more sense to look for a replacement block or parts block to get 1 good engine, since I can't find a new set of pistons. Since your truck has the pump panel it may have the same same chrome panel , mine has 2 gauages and the tach on the chrome pump panel. it is about 12" X 18" so if yours is standard it should be the same one, if yours had the optional gauges it won't work, but I may use some of the gauages as replacement parts. Does your truck still have the booster reels and any other chrome hardware left? I will try to take a digital picture and post it for you. Where are you located? Thanks, Firemack

Hi Fred, I am looking for the chrome rails and some of the pump panel parts are they in good shape? Thanks, Firemack 1954 B75 Fire truck at Radnor Fire Co. See it on the old board as i haven't had time to move them to the new one yet!
  11. We have a 1954 B75F Pumper with a 464 which we restored and need a new shortblock as our crank and cylinders/pistons are tired and need replacement. Anyone have a 464 shortblock or complete engine in decent shape for sale around the PA area? Thanks Firemack!
  12. Hi My name is John Statts and I have been a truck nut since my dad took me out in a 1946 Autocar Oil Truck around 1960!. I have restored a 1954 B75 Semi Open Cab Pumper (B75F1011) for the Radnor Fire Company. I have been restoring cars and trucks since about 1970 and used my experience with Corvette restorations on the B75. Trying to keep everything as close to original as possible which has really made it fun to take to fire company events and parades. Probably the most challenging facet of the entire project is the funding for a restoration of an antique truck by an active fire company. I have researched a lot of information on B75 Firetrucks (from the Museum and in person) and have found 2 other B75's still in service in our area. I would love to have Harvey Eckart have another All Mack Firetruck get together so we could invite all of the Mack Fire Trucks to one location! I have enjoyed the website and reading the messages and pictures from truck all over and really like the new format. GREAT JOB BARRY! Also Barry and the Watts mack team has helped out with the restoration for the past few years and so my thanks to all of the Watts Mack team!
