  1. Yea but the problem is our International draws a lot of attention and I'm pretty sure I would end up in the Juvenile Detention Center for driving it without a CDL Compared to MN, we have a lot less crops and a lot more cops Ben
  2. You are absolutely right. It was really easy for me to learn because the first manual I ever drove was the RT909 in the International. All of the manuals I've ever driven have been non-synchro so I don't have any bad habits to break. Ben

  5. So I am a member of the Westmoreland County Travel All Exchange 4-H Club. This is an exchange club where 4-H kids from another state come and stay in PA for like 10 days and then us club members go and stay wherever they came from. This time it was Roseau County Minnesota. Last summer, about 15 kids from MN came and stayed here in PA. Two guys from there stayed at my house. This summer, 12 of us PA 4-H'ers went to MN and stayed for 10 days. The place was as rural as it gets. It was completely flat throughout the whole county(much unlike here in PA). The roads were dead straight running North-South and East-West, forming a grid of one mile by one mile squares. These squares were fields filled with crops except for a few that had houses. The roads were two lane and 80 percent of them were gravel. It was amazing to me. I stayed with a family that had 4 boys, ages 8 to 20. They owned 640 acres and had about 50 cattle. They happened to be baling hay while I was there and of course I got to help. The field they were baling was four miles down the road from their farm. We baled about 150 acres of hay. They were 5x5 foot round bales. To get them from the field to the farm, we used two rigs, an '06 Duramax with a 38 foot gooseneck and an International Road Tractor with an alumanum 53 foot flatbed trailer. And guess who was driving the cornbinder all by himself...... Me. 15 year old Ben Jumper, truck enthusiast. I was out on the open road, in a pretty big truck, justa haulin' some hay. I hauled five loads of 20 round bales each. It was awesome That's me and my MN friend, Brandon. He was driving the Duramax and I was driving the IH. Ben
  6. Okay guys, listen. I tried to explain to my dad how to drive it but he is just so used to doing it his way that he can't grasp the concept of doing it the CORRECT way. I told him to split the upshifts so it didn't lug the heck out of it and he was like "naaaaahh". I tried to explain to him how to downshift using double clutching but he wouldn't listen. He doesn't understand the fact that you have to rev it up to downshift it. He keeps trying to just jam it in without using any pedals at all. His problem is he is used to his 1 ton Chevy with the 4 speed and 350 small block which isn't even in the world as the triplex. But I have faith in him. I think once he drives it a couple times, he will get the hang of it. ONE THING YOU ALL SHOULD TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION: The dashboard is not right in that truck. The tach cable is hooked up to the speedometer so we have no idea what RPM it's it. For example, when the motor is at like 1500(roughly) it reads like 35 MILES PER HOUR. So we need to switch the cables back. Then it will be much better. But again, that was the first time he has ever driven it. So give him some slack. Ben
  7. Well after having it sitting in the shop collecting dust for about 8 months, we finally got the old B Model wrecker on the road again.   9. News Flash! We may have the B61 in roadworthy condition by Saturday! I'm working 12 to 14 hours a day to meet the deadline at my hotel project, but have enlisted a friend to help. New 30-30 cans and brackets (thanks Watt's!) are mounted and plumbed, have to loop heater hoses around junk heater core, check filters and fluids, ect.and take for a short ( to Export Fuel) test drive. Hopefully we'll have it at the show! Tim
  10. I picked the 1950 -1969. This is because that includes the best of all of the Mack models. The R model, U model, and of course the great B model were all part of those years. It doesn't get any better than that Ben
  11. I'm really starting to have some concerns for the disdain in which Charles Kettering's finest invention is being referred. For instance, I refer you (or y'all ) to this months Wheels of Time Detroit Diesel article. The article clearly states "Detroit Diesels are no louder than regular diesels". I will have no more of your blasphemy to the purest form of diesel power. Tim

  14. The car cruise is at the Norwin Town Centre which is like 15 minutes from the grounds where the truck show will be. I personally think it would be EXTREMELY awesome to have a whole bunch of us come parading into the car cruise in our big trucks and just watch the jaws drop Ben
  15. That's if we don't break it the day before that because if everything goes as planned, we will be participating in the truck pull at the Westmoreland County Fair on Friday Ben
  16. Ben and I will be there as usual for the past several years. Westmoreland county fair is going on as well, so if you out of town guys are looking for something to do after the show, there's that. Or the car cruise at Norwin that gets at least 400 cars and like 2 big trucks (if Dave McNaughton and I show up!). I'll probably take the 13 letter $hit spreader again, maybe the Rat Rod Caddy too. Unless I have a stroke of good luck and I find about six extra hours a day until then and can get the B61 wrecker roadworthy by then. See y'all there! Tim.

  21. I think that we are all missing the point here; Chinese trailer tires. I will about guarantee that the one that popped was a china popper. Why were there two different tires on the same side? I'll bet that a newish trailer like that didn't wear the tires out on one axle faster than the other, I'll bet it failed too. I've lost 2 Chinese tires this year on a 2013 trailer with less than 2000 miles on them. Everyone that I talk to with a trailer says they have had problems with the china joe tires. Sorry, pissed about the Chinese products ruining America. What if someone gets killed by a trailer tire failure? Who are you going to sue, china? Tim
