      Hi Bob,

I do not recall Brad but I may have talked to him, memory is not what it used to be. I did hear of someone casting the rear cab mount, was that Brad? It was pricy and not machined, just raw casting.

Really could use a front engine mount. I made a steel strap that wraps under the aluminum mount to stop the engine decent if it cracks though again.

  7. My mistake on name . it's Al Nelson from California.
  8. LTL sheet metal on a newer chassis . Neilson from California who also has a LTH in same colors and has had it at numerous shows.

  10. now I see where Clark got there 91000lb hub idea from which they did'nt remodel till the 70's. Mack's were a much stronger planetary rear end set up than the Clark's. (needle bearings for pinion gears and "O" rings for sealing) instead of PERMATEX which went hard under heat and leaked worse than the green leakers that were powering them.
  11. 1710 wasn't out yet but they did have the V-12 1486s Cummins
  12. the first batch of MACK CL350s were powered by 12V71@456 power (N65) injecters 6 speed 5960 allison trans and Mack planetary rears.some still at work hauling logs.

  16. I was told that the Kenworth that had the V-12 was hauling butane tanker out of LA and when they got out of site they hooked the truck fuel system to the tanker. No one will say if they ever got caught.

  20. there are two bends to that style. The ones off a L model MACK and the ones off a B model Mack. The L model is a lot flatter than the B model.
  21. I find oven cleaner from the wifes cupboard then wash off with garden hose.Takes the grease off the rear ends and trans.with no problem. just let it soak for a few minutes after spraying on. Practice makes perfect.
