  5. No. Been watching. Call me a jerk, but I did an obituary “wellness check” today.....hey 🤷🏿‍♂️ it’s the age of internet, gotta make sure. He is alive. If the great one ever died I want to know so I can pour a Moxie into the earth. My only guess is they caught him making his famous township board long pork and he’s in jail. He’s been getting hammered on by those fools.

  8. Thank you for the Magirus information. From your article, I gather the Magirus quickly lost its potential market share to the Mack Midliner. I only remember seeing a handful of the Magirus cabovers (with the Club of Four cabs), two straight trucks at a local rental center around 1981, and a fire department rescue squad with the same cab and chassis. I'm trying to get more information on that fire truck and I think an estimated build date on the cab and chassis would help. If the Magirus cabovers entered the North American market around 1980, how many years were they offered over here

  9. How about the poor bustards that went to work in all the coal mines you lived in company homes had to buy from the company store and had wages taken out for all kinds of things you needed to dig out their coal. You got killed under ground they threw your body on the porch and told the widow to move. When i was young Pittston was full of guys dying of black lung lost a lot of relatives to that crap. The ancestors in my area were nothing more than slaves. Maybe the welfareite's in the city's are better off than us workers? Free trade my ass I and a lot of my fellow business owners lost accou

  10. I think the taxpayers came out fine just in income tax revenue from all the 1,000's of GM employees, suppliers, and dealers that didn't lose their jobs. The ones that got screwed were the GM stock and bond holders. True GM didn't react to the banking crisis fast enough like Ford did, but if you wnat to blame someone start with Barney Frank and Lehman Bros. and go from there.

  11. Yep and those of in business for ourselves practice the same thing on smaller scale, we make money off the people who work for us if I didn't there would be no reason to put up with crap you deal with having employees, I never employed anyone just for the aggravation of having them around, bigger companies make money on having me around, I even asked the management at SHAW how they could afford to have my crews just sitting around sometimes and they told me they made off every day we were on job, good for them and good for me, but how our you going to control the gangs and losers without a po

  12. Think about this for a moment. Have not the powerful and wealthy always been in control? From day one? Do you not think they're still in control now? Almost everything happens for a reason........so as to steer the majority of the masses. "They" put money into the hands of the masses, and then profit from how the masses spend that money. They have it down to a science. We, who think and question, are a minority and thus no threat to their agendas.

  13. So the Mayor of NYC wants to defund the Police and is going to offer programs to give the criminals something better to do than crime, are you sh ttin me, something better than crime, what more welfare is this guy out to lunch and this is what the left is proposing no police, liberals have gone off the deep end, their minds have been eaten by the Trump bug and are now mindless zombies being led by really degenerate scum out to destroy America, really no police, does that mean that I can now defend my property as I see fit, you'll see bodies piled on the side of the road, you liberals are out

  20. I don't think "layers of management" create oppressive culture. Too many layers just makes everything slower to "trickle down"-but eventually it gets to the lower levels. Do you think the black chief in Minneapolis was "oppressive"? Seemed like a well spoken guy to me but he obviously did not get the message to his troops. Or he was totally intimidated by the union. This dumb ass cop had almost 20 yrs and his share of complaints filed against him- and he survived. No doubt, what you could get away with 20 years ago is one thing, but in this age of dash cams, everyone in the public

  22. If I were a police chief, and my department's budget was cut by the mayor & city council, the cuts would as focused as possible. 1) reduced or eliminated patrols in the mayor's & council member's neighborhoods. 2) prioritizing calls to any/every OTHER section of town ahead of those in the mayor's/council members' neighborhoods. 3) extended response times for any callscoming from the mayor's/city council member's neighborhoods due to #1 & #2. I sure as hell wouldn't make cuts elsewhere until protective services for those making the cuts had been pretty much eliminated. Want pol

  26. I was reading Bulldog magazines from 1998 -2001 and I get the impression that every thing was looking up for Mack's future at that time. Mack CL and RD dominated construction. The Mack CH had a redesigned interior and was selling well in highway applications. The Vision was off to a good start. The CL had the big power Cummins option and was competitive in heavy haul. Mack had a good presence in class in class 6 & 7 with the MS and CS. Mack MR and LE were dominant in the refuse industry. Then in June of 2001 bam Volvo bought Renault. Mack executives gave no hint of the trouble ahead (Vic

  28. That’s already happening with truckers. Legal, English speaking people (doesn’t matter race, religion etc) myself included don’t want to have a cdl due to all of the Bs that comes along with it. So illegals who many unfortunately are cutting corners and rules making the situation even worse are the only ones willing to put up with all the stipulations it takes to have and keep up a cdl to be able to work for a decent employer. If I could find something with comparable pay and benefits that I liked doing that wasn’t a 3 month a year seasonal job I’d leave trucking immediately. I don’t mind the

  32. I talked with my cousin on Sunday who is a GM/UAW employee. He's ready to go back to work to start getting a paycheck again. "900.00 a week" is a pay cut. Also, in Indiana, the state income tax is not taken from unemployment insurance so you have to remember to bank extra to make up for that come April of 2021. The one thing that he is really enjoying right now is NOT working 6 days a week which was mandated at the 1st of the year for his plant. My company, locally, has furloughed 12 people so far and the only one who is doing better on unemployment than working is a part-time office c
