  1. Most cam issues for a mp8 are most likely from either poor maintenance (no valve adjustment) or improper valve adjustment. Mack/Volvo had some issues with the rocker arms but by your year model that should have been fixed. Seen some issues with the reman injectors, hopefully Mack is on their ass about improving the quality. I'm currently overhauling a 1996 e7 engine (level 3 overhaul) in a R model (cotton module hauler). Everyone in the shop was saying the truck wasn't worth it and the owner was crazy to spend that kind of money. The truck is in awesome shape, they take great care of the

  4. Need more truck owners like him, and less shop monkey's like your Co workers! Glad there is someone taking care of their "older" stuff! Make sure you tell the truck owner not to let anyone from Molvo convince him to trade in.

Fear Not thou !We have had a rash of EGR cooler Failures as of late ,they must have found a new Dollar store to shop at for these!😥 And You will always have work doing injector cups as well !😂

  9. Doubt it calcs to MPG. Did a lifetime check on one of our Cat C9 (9.3 Liter) interim 4 engines. Just before trade-in. Had burned about 1,600 gallons out the 7th injector.

  10. I bought an old 74 f model Mack last year and am trying to get a few last things tied up for it's DOT inspection and I need a driver's side windshield, I have not had any luck finding one anywhere. Does anyone have any leads or contacts? Thanks in advance!

  11. Thank you! I've always been a vocational truck fan. A long nose Peterbilt with a lots of chrome does nothing for me.

  13. No can do on this engine, no puff limiter and boost is less than 12 psi max on the twin turbo set-up. Clear no smoke exhaust, Pump needs turned up plus turbo boost is low. Injectors may be fine but that old spider pump need to put out more fuel. Then worry about turbos and boost psi. For hobby I would not worry about low power unless you plan on pulling 32 tons to a show. Check pump timing as it can be off wit not enough advance.

  15. Outside air cleaners were an option. Mine has an E-9 with air cleaner under the hood, fits with no problem. I wish mine had outside cleaners. Under hood cleaners are ducted to the grill opening for fresh air.

  16. Some more pics I have. I was told the Superliners with the aircleaner's mount to sides had to do with bigger motors and no room under the hood,,,that was I was told probably wrong. I really like the other pic posted hereby others, already added them to my pics.
