Mack makes a great truck and this is the site for people who like them, I literally grew up in Mack trucks so I keep going back to them, my first Mack was a B61 with factory sleeper, 673 and triplex, single axle with tag, last new Mack was a Granite with a 460 from the Mack dealer in Montgomery NY, Great truck no power, would have to split a gear just to make it over small rise on the interstate, it did not stay around long, this is a great site for help with problems, also great place to be reminded why you don't want to buy a new truck, I like the pictures and the stories, as much as I like the my Macks I hate the transmissions, great little motors, really well built truck just bad trans, but that comes from our experience and some others do fine with them, that's great for them. Odds and ends is great because on this site the intelligence level might be a little higher than some other places, but if you don't like what you read don't read it, reminds me of the pastor who went and watched a certain porn movie and then went around telling people how bad it was, when you find people who do not speak or debate subjects you tend find people who cannot figure out how their 14 year old daughter got pregnant, those that want to do away with threads that do not match their thoughts are the ones who cannot debate their ideas because they know they are wrong but continue to live in their own dark little closet trying to convince themselves they are right. If positive comments about Trump bother someone they should not read it, fact still remains that Trump has done a great job for this country and Obama was the worst which makes Carter feel great. If you’re a man that's grown a vagina than maybe you should get a vaginaloptomy and grown some man stuff, you might see things in different light. BMT is great, I hope those that are missing are fine, some people have problems and like to keep to themselves, some need support from others. MAPA- Make America Poor Again, Vote Democrat

Never plan on being a stoner, don't smoke, seldom drink and it fascinates me...…………….Stoner dude sits at home smoking state-approved weed & eat'in Cheetos, Democratic politicians boast whimsically about how many drugs they did in college, the companies CEO has a chrome box for his nose candy and Mr.BlueCollar is told "stay sober, clean, and your going to piss in a cup if you wanna get paid (or score a job)".

Hey guys/gals! It’s been a while since I have posted in BMT. Not since shortly after our CL753 build. I hope all is well with you all. I am back to share another build I am beginning. If you guys remember, my father and I restored a green Superliner about 5yrs who, and then a yellow CL About 3 yrs ago. Any way I have a new project, something bigger and wilder than I have ever done before. Finally got the RD854 my dad always wanted . It’s unfortunate he isn’t here to help me on this, but my uncle and I plan on doing this one in honor of him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Folks, we need to give Barry Holden a big hand!! If you notice on the home page, he has dedicated a tab at the top of page to the B Model Registry. Once you click on it, you can get to the registry plus a lot more info that I dug out of sales literature. There is still more to send to him, so keep checking from time to time. The old web site that all this info was on was discontinued for some reason. I'm grateful to Barry for posting all this again so everybody can learn more about their ride. Sent a personal note to Barry and thank him for this addition. I have noticed the times on messages he has sent here and I'm starting to think he lives at Watt's Mack. Not often you have a employee willing to put in that much time! Over & out from Ignorant Ridge, Tom

The piece of crap that was in the White House last said you would never seen unemployment down where it is today, also said that those manufacturing jobs were gone for EVER, EVER he said, really what happened, we have a President that grabs a little Volvo, better than grabbing a Weiner, calls out Rocket Man, tries to find out who really screwed up the election (Clinton) brings back oil, has really lowered unemployment, is really trying to fix the southern border problem (less warren/sanders voters) if the guy pooped out gold bricks and cured cancer the America hating left would still find something to impeach him, how about we impeach THEM, how about we declare the Democrat party a Terrorist group, they really hate America and really try to harm us, all the left talks about is about everyone else in the world and what they think, who cares what they(any other country ) thinks, how about we the working people of this country think, do you live by what others think or what is right for you ??? Impeach the Democrats and declare the them Terrorists.(not the NRA).

I am old enough (68) to think sometimes that the young men today do not have the backbone the men of the "greatess generation" had. But then I meet a few young men that are or have served the country, and I am struck by the patriotism and courage of these young men today. All is not lost........yet!

Hi all, just thought I'd share a horn button repair I made to our Type 45 using some 3D printed parts. As you can see in the photo, one of the rubber blocks that retains the horn button had broken. I'm not really sure if these parts are available, but making one essentially for free is always better than buying if you're like me - more budget constrained than bound to strict originality. I drilled out the rivets holding the original rubbers, and had a friend of mine print up some replacements which are designed to accept a small flat head screw in place of the rivet. Blue would not have been my first choice but its what he had in a semi-flexible materials on hand and it doesn't show when the button is installed.

Because of your post I took one of the warranty calls today, the gentleman hung up on me after I corrected my address. I asked him to verify my current address, he rattled off my NYS address, I said it wrong , here is my current address: NYS Home For The Criminally Insane, Building C, Cell #245 Central Islip N.Y. . I can't imagine why the nice man hung up, I even called back and asked him why he hung up. . .he hung up again..

I found this and the pics on the Fecesbook-inter-web-o-gram where some lucky guy found an original Waylon Jennings Mack. Such an important music icon and part of Western American culture and history that it deserves to be restored, displayed and enjoyed by future generations. AMAZINGLY COOL BADASS FIND!!!

Yes. A work ethic, self reliance, tolerance, sense of family and community, patriotism, common sense, practical education, knowing right from wrong, religion of some sort, the ability to see both sides of an issue and last the sense not to believe everything they hear or read.

The winch cable pulled the trailer suspension forward. This action made the dump body raise up. Release the winch and the body would lower. Steering wheel holders need not apply.

I'll let you know. He may be the last resort. I really want one of two things to happen. The Veterans groups and media cuts them no slack with the burden of public outcry waking the head of zoning and gaining some sensibility or my NYC property lawyers bankrupt them in court and I buy the village.

Seeing as my F350 dump is disappearing before my eyes and since I don't want to replace all the sheetmetal on a truck with 190k on it, time for Craigslist. Found a 2000 k3500 6.5 diesel with 49k original on it for $2600, just needs a transmission (no reverse) and a bulldog hood ornament. A guy who lives down the street from my shop stopped by and said he thinks he has a good tranny for it so that might work out pretty good. Very clean almost rust free 20 year old truck, don't find that in New England often. Brought it home this morning, managed to put the front wheel thru the trailer deck while loading. I think I'll paint it to match my old 94 3500 HD that I sold because plowing driveways in 2 wheel drive sucks.

In my short experience I've learned they accuse others of their own crimes. Case and point, Hilary managing to get waste of time investigation into Trump when she's the one who pandered to Russia. https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/429292-the-case-for-russia-collusion-against-the-democrats Trump may not be a morally perfect guy, but he's no socialist pig. And for those who are angry that he hasn't gotten a wall built yet, stop sending he swamp dwellers to work with in Congress. He's not a king for 4 years, he can only do what the Constitution allows him to do. Congress and the Courts have to do their part.

TS- No thank you-above my paygrade or skills. When I did drive, it was 7600 gallons on five axles. Of course that goes back in days when we had spokes, and tanks had two meters, two direct lines, two 4" hoses and in a 3" Blackmer pump on some tractors. My region was not in the "weight savings at any cost" mindset. In fact I remember one of the old fleet maintenance supervisors who had a saying..."aluminum is only good for teakettles". Later in my career I was the regional staff guy responsible for fleet and we were still not that weight conscious. Rest of the country was into Alcoas and we were still on spokes! Big change came here I think when an R-700 pulling a Fruehauf bath tub dump, probably grossing over 100,000 lost control on a road under spans leading to Tobin Bridge. Knocked bridge pier out and this major span over Boston harbor was shut down. As a result of that Mass started big crack down on overweight trucks but also passed legislation raising 5 axle limit to 99,000 lbs while eliminating requirement to comply with Fed bridge formula. Picture is what we then used- 11,800 gallons, no bridge formula, trailer tandems were 50,000 pds and the LT 9000's had 40 rears and 12 fronts. But the first time you drove one of these you knew center of gravity was VERY different. Later on rest of New England followed suit but required triaxle tanks. All that is except Conn. They are still at 80,000-and bridge formula. Maybe my imagination but I think this may have led the push to bigger trailers-and with more axles vs. combinations as used in Michigan.

After finishing up the mock-up and marking everything for disassembly, I was trying to figure out how to get at the front pillars to get at some rust. Well, I guess I wasn't done taking it apart. So, I removed the cowl completely.. I can definitely get at them this way.
