And how about this -NO campaigning for their NEXT gig no sooner than-pick a number- 3 mos, 6 mos? from election in question. I think of it this way-what if I said to my boss-" Chief-I'm on the road for 3 days next week seeing if I can find a better job-If any bombs go off, please handle"!! My guess is I would have been told.."sure-but make it a full time search because you are done here" Absolute bullshit. We are paying them big bucks with life time benefits and what do we get? Inattention to the issues they were elected to address -TODAY!

Speaking of term limits...... Ruth Ginsburg has a shallow pulse and can’t navigate the day without falling and injuring herself. She’s had iron deficiency issues, vertigo issues, colon cancer, pancreatic cancer, lung cancer, heart stints, broken ribs from falling. She spent November working from home and January missing oral arguments. She is basically still operating on hospice painkillers.

every single congressman and assemblyman should be fired next voting session and replaced. and term limits of 2 terms should be enacted at the same time, just like is on the president.

If the first cutbacks in pay from the shutdown were the congressmen involved, The shut down would end immediately!!!!

one month should be more than enough time to campaign for reelection. either state your accomplishments, or let someone else do a better job than you did.

Mack did not make a turbo V8 in a B model from the factory that I know of. I did see a 864 twin turbo B model for sale in the Wheels of Time years ago, it was yellow, wonder what happened to it? Think they were asking about $20-25K for it. This is my 1965 B-755 that came with a normally aspirated 864. They were not good engines and forget about parts so when the truck was restored I put in a rebuilt 375HP 866 V8 single turbo that I could get parts for back then. So there are at least 2 B's with Turbo V8's around. I really wanted to put a E9-500 in but the Quadbox still in the truck would not have survived for long. Engine color is right for 1965 V8 but originally a Silver engine.

The Dems cut Senator Dan Crenshaw a new A hole no slack because he is refusing pay until the shut down ends. Seems the only honorable man in Congress.

Well, I actually got to go to sunny Florida this week! The N.B.Handy Co. has opened a branch in Davenport, Fl. They used to have a branch in Orlando and in Boca Raton too but they closed them. They said they're gonna supply the Davenport branch out of the Norcross, Ga. (Atlanta) branch, but they would have loads out of Lynchburg going there to get the warehouse fully supplied. I loaded on Thursday to deliver Monday, but of course I came home and fed the cat, cleaned the litter box, took a shower, and I was off. I got there Friday a little after noon, not expecting to get unloaded until Monday, but they unloaded me Friday. So I waited until the redhead got off from work, and she drove over from the other side of Orlando and picked me up.As I always do whenever i'm with her, I had a great time. I saw this serious looking bird on the way down. and a bird on a sign- I took a picture of this orange grove right across the road from N.B.Handy while I was waiting for her. I might have walked over and picked a few oranges too. Saturday we took a little drive over to Stuart, Fl. to see a BMT dignitary- Hatcity, a true legend. We went up rt. A1A when we left Stuart and stopped a few times to take pictures and look around. We saw some people on some horses. And a seagull on the beach. A big beach umbrella- A girl who stepped on a Lego- A couple walking on the beach- ...so, we stopped at another place and saw this little crab- and a big bird- Sunday morning we went for an airboat ride, saw lots of aminals... Then I had to leave, after having a great time, drinking great beer, eating great wings, and being with great people- ...and get back into the cold, the snow, the ice,..this is here, about an hour ago- bummer. I did see a big Mack truck or two yesterday though-

Nancy P Wins for the decade!! Democrat Floats Canceling Super Bowl: ‘Would Definitely Lead to the End of the Government Shutdown’ Democrats are floating canceling the Super Bowl in order to push to end what is now the longest government shutdown in history and punish Republicans, according to a report quoting several Democrat lawmakers. Fox News reports a Democrat lawmaker confirmed that during a meeting of the House Democrat Conference–of which Speaker Nancy Pelosi is the leader–on Thursday morning, discussion of the shutdown’s effects on the Super Bowl caused a ruckus. “A House Democratic Caucus meeting was roiled Thursday morning after one representative floated the possibility that the ongoing partial federal government shutdown might affect federal authorities’ ability to secure the upcoming Super Bowl,” Fox News’ Chad Pergram and Gregg Re reported. “That definitely got everyone’s attention,” a Democrat lawmaker told Fox News anonymously. Another Democrat lawmaker told Fox News anonymously that canceling the Super Bowl “would definitely lead to the end of the government shutdown.” While nobody in President Donald Trump’s administration–which oversees the collection of government agencies that come together to handle travel, logistics, security, and more for major events like the Super Bowl–is suggesting that the Super Bowl be canceled like Democrats on Capitol Hill are floating, there is definitely concern about the shutdown’s impact on this year’s big game. A report from NBC News details how not just air traffic controllers at Atlanta’s Hartfield-Jackson International Airport will be working without pay, but so will officials at many of the other agencies involved in helping secure the Super Bowl: If the shutdown — now in an unprecedented 27th day — continues, the federal employees charged with overseeing security at the event will also be working without pay. The Department of Homeland Security is heavily involved with keeping the event safe from terrorism and other threats, working with the NFL, FBI and local law enforcement agencies. That includes personnel from the Secret Service, Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. All of those agencies have been hit by the shutdown — as has the FBI. The Fox News report details just how intricately involved federal agencies are in protecting the Super Bowl: Super Bowls, including last year’s game in Minneapolis, typically are designated at Special Event Assessment Rating level 1 and involve tight coordination between federal, state, and local law enforcement. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) rates SEARs 1 through 5, with level 1 indicating the most risk. A DHS rating of SEAR 1 is just below that of a National Special Security Event, a designation for major national or international events that face the highest potential terr risks. At last year’s Super Bowl, roughly 30 federal agencies — including the FBI, Secret Service and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) — were on hand, as well as cybersecurity officials. That’s not all. According to CNBC, since the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is affected by the shutdown, apparently Super Bowl ads could be hampered too. CNBC’s Lucy Handley reports: Companies spend millions of dollars on ads at the Super Bowl, in the hope that the event’s vast audience will buy their new products and services. But the U.S. government shutdown may have an impact on product launches, because part of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website is offline and companies therefore can’t currently get new services approved and ready to advertise during the big game on February 3. The FCC regulates the TV and telecommunications industries and on January 3 posted on its website: “Due to the partial government shutdown, the FCC suspended most operations at midday Thursday 3 Jan, 2019.” Democrat threats to cancel the Super Bowl over the shutdown come in the wake of Pelosi canceling the State of the Union. She had originally, after being elected Speaker while the government was shut down, invited President Trump to the House chamber in the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 29 to deliver the annual presidential address to Congress and the nation, but then changed her mind and said that if the shutdown persists security concerns may preclude the Capitol from being ready to handle such a high-profile, high-risk event. The U.S. Secret Service and Department of Homeland Security fired back, saying Pelosi did not know what she was talking about and that they would be ready to handle the State of the Union address on Jan. 29 even if the shutdown continues. Then, on Thursday, as Democrats boarded a U.S. Air Force bus bound for a military plane to take them gallivanting around the world to Europe and Afghanistan, President Trump used his authority as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to cancel Pelosi’s jaunt. Trump said she could still fly commercial if she wanted to continue abandoning government funding negotiations, which she originally planned to do until Friday morning when her office announced those plans had fallen through, blaming Trump again for it. Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer refuse to provide the Democrat votes necessary to reopen the government because they are adamantly opposed to any kind of barrier along the U.S. border with Mexico. Pelosi has even called a wall, like the one President Trump wants to build, “immoral,” but she and Schumer are having difficulty holding Democrats together against a barrier on the border. Even Pelosi’s number two, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, says she is incorrect to say walls are “immoral,” while many other rank-and-file Democrats are openly seeking a deal with the White House and President Trump. The Super Bowl, assuming the Democrats do not succeed in canceling it, is scheduled to be played in Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday, Feb. 3, two weeks from Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET that day. The conference championship games, which will decide the participants in this year’s Super Bowl, take place on this coming Sunday. The Los Angeles Rams face off against the New Orleans Saints at 3:05 p.m. ET on Sunday in the National Football Conference championship, and the New England Patriots face the Kansas City Chiefs in the American Football Conference championship at 6:40 p.m. ET on Sunday.

What are these people you talk of? Whom do they work for? Where do they work? As far as I can see there in no House or Senate. Better off going to the local diner or BMT and putting them in office.

My grandfathers brother had an Auto repair/ gas station and Pontiac dealer in Centerport Long Island from the mid teens until his death in 1967. During the 20's and 30's most of his customers were from Eatons Neck and Centerport. The likes of the Vanderbilts, Morgans, Pratt and Manvilles so his wrecker wrecker fit his image for his clients. Biggest memory was climbing all over his 1928 Packard tow truck. when he died I was 14 and couldn't convince my dad to take it for his garage. so it was sold. The unit just came up for sale after sitting in the buyers garage since 1969. I contacted the seller and sent him a wire transfer deposit to buy it. Only 3 photos and needs most likely a ton of mechanical and the body was changed quite a bit. But 52 years later I'm going to own it. 1933 photo Center Shore Drive Centerport N.Y. On the subject of the MH Mack Cabover,I used to drive for a Ryder lease customer AC Delco batteries, and Ryder at the same time hauled those little Coleman pop up campers with an MH single axle and a double deck trailer. There was a single lane restriction in one of the tunnels on the Pa turnpike Allegheny Mountain I think. A KW Cabover with a load of 55 gallon drums of some product drifted into the MH drivers lane and they hit head on at about 35mph! The KW driver died at the scene, but the MH driver while seriously injured to the point of having to retire from driving recovered! I actually had a conversation with him at Ryders Pittsburgh terminal. The Mack engineers were so impressed that they traveled from Allentown to view the wreckage of the MH! They towed away the wrecked MH before I ever got to see it, but obviously the composite aluminum/ fiberglass construction of the MH must have been very strong! A couple years later I drove a single axle MH with an aluminum drop deck, It was the best riding Cabover I ever drove and it even was spring ride!

I was able to get a modern day set of tie rod ends made by meritor and a bar to match that fit the FA-522 spindles. Part numbers are as follows.... Meritor #R230024 left Meritor #R230025 right Meritor #A-3102-S-3451 tie bar King pin bushings are being machined at this point along with the nut to accept a thrust bearing. Just have to find a solid drag link now due to the owner wanting to do away with the air assist steering.

I’ve got a few build photos from and a few shots from when she was still in service. Her sister is the 1954 3 Door LS85 on that brochure. Last time anyone’s seen her was back in 2014 when she was for sale on GovDeals and all our searching for her has led us to being told she was scrapped. It’s a shame such a beautiful engine is gone, but atleast one of the duo still remains and will be roaring through the streets of Maryland again soon.

I've used Baldwin filters since I guess the early eighties. Always had good luck with them. After having problems with Mack branded oil filters crushing when trying to remove them (even when grabbing them all the way at the top by the clinch bead) The last straw was when I had two of them on the same truck have the shell start spinning without the top of it! Put the filter wrench on the first one up high and started to finesse it off, good, it broke loose, wrong the shell was just spinning, WTF! Second one did the same thing, WTF!!! Had to chisel both of them off! Never had that problem after I changed to the Baldwin filters. Only problem I had was with one of our employees named Jim who was many years my senior. First time I ordered the Baldwin filters Jim and I were opening the cases of fuel filters and when we got to the scondaries I saw the look of disgust on his face. I knew what the problem was but asked him anyway. "They're all red!" I said "that's why they have numbers on them, if it will make you feel better I'll get you a can of green spray paint!" Needless to say he wasn't very happy with me! Ron
