yesterday today that was just after imron base coat before clear, i forgot to take a picture after i shot the clear it was getting pretty late when i finished up. ill post up a picture tomorrow of it all un wrapped with the clear coat on it. i recorded some video on the whole process so that will be in the works as well. but my old peeling fading pant on the mack has been replaced with nice shiny new paint. its had some clear coat issues as long as iv owned it but it has really started showing its age up close over the last couple years, the whole drivers side was starting to peel bad and the passenger side was starting to peel and there was absolutely no clear coat left on the roof, not to mention the hood had been re painted previously by someone else and the color didn't exactly match they painted over stickers and it was separating in spots. as the original paint was failing underneath the repaint on the hood.

Never plan on being a stoner, don't smoke, seldom drink and it fascinates me...…………….Stoner dude sits at home smoking state-approved weed & eat'in Cheetos, Democratic politicians boast whimsically about how many drugs they did in college, the companies CEO has a chrome box for his nose candy and Mr.BlueCollar is told "stay sober, clean, and your going to piss in a cup if you wanna get paid (or score a job)".

This is how I recall the 50's and 60's when I used to ride with my uncle when he worked for Walton P Davis in Locust Valley N.Y. Only time I ever road in a Sightliner. Scary and cool for a 12 year old.

Hey guys/gals! It’s been a while since I have posted in BMT. Not since shortly after our CL753 build. I hope all is well with you all. I am back to share another build I am beginning. If you guys remember, my father and I restored a green Superliner about 5yrs who, and then a yellow CL About 3 yrs ago. Any way I have a new project, something bigger and wilder than I have ever done before. Finally got the RD854 my dad always wanted . It’s unfortunate he isn’t here to help me on this, but my uncle and I plan on doing this one in honor of him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

the imron was defiantly not cheap was over $1500 in paint . normally i would use nasson or croma base on cars. i have not sprayed many single stages not on a allover paint job anyway, iv done like some trailer fenders or things like that in single stage paints. i drive a lot of gravel roads so that was part of my reason for going with the imron should be more chip and scratch resistant. its not been very long sense i sprayed it but i wet sanded and buffed out a small spot and it was almost like buffing stainless steel..lol its defiantly some tough stuff. mostly all back together now got the exhaust stack back on and the grab handle on the back of the cab after i took those pictures mostly just have to put the interior door panels back on and interior trim around sleeper windows and a couple broken bolts i still need to deal with on the drivers side front 1/4 fender and put my lettering back on the truck. id like to re-polish all my alluminum before i put it back on the road as well. but its almost done. oh and here is the visor after i fixed my screw up and re-sprayed it and a close up picture of the color

Folks, we need to give Barry Holden a big hand!! If you notice on the home page, he has dedicated a tab at the top of page to the B Model Registry. Once you click on it, you can get to the registry plus a lot more info that I dug out of sales literature. There is still more to send to him, so keep checking from time to time. The old web site that all this info was on was discontinued for some reason. I'm grateful to Barry for posting all this again so everybody can learn more about their ride. Sent a personal note to Barry and thank him for this addition. I have noticed the times on messages he has sent here and I'm starting to think he lives at Watt's Mack. Not often you have a employee willing to put in that much time! Over & out from Ignorant Ridge, Tom

I’m all Mack. I don’t look at anything newer than 2003. When we can’t keep them running time to close the doors. They haul the same loads time and again. I know it’s not an option for everyone, but for my operation it’s the best way to maximize our money. I feel for everyone running newer equipment that is unreliable.

Mack did not make a turbo V8 in a B model from the factory that I know of. I did see a 864 twin turbo B model for sale in the Wheels of Time years ago, it was yellow, wonder what happened to it? Think they were asking about $20-25K for it. This is my 1965 B-755 that came with a normally aspirated 864. They were not good engines and forget about parts so when the truck was restored I put in a rebuilt 375HP 866 V8 single turbo that I could get parts for back then. So there are at least 2 B's with Turbo V8's around. I really wanted to put a E9-500 in but the Quadbox still in the truck would not have survived for long. Engine color is right for 1965 V8 but originally a Silver engine.

Seems like it will all fit together. Finished all the modifications to the right sill/jamb, then test fit it all together along with the new rear floor panels. Lots of assembly/disassembly, test fitting, fitting the old parts back in, seeing if it will all line up. Still a ways to go, but it's getting there.

Hi all, just thought I'd share a horn button repair I made to our Type 45 using some 3D printed parts. As you can see in the photo, one of the rubber blocks that retains the horn button had broken. I'm not really sure if these parts are available, but making one essentially for free is always better than buying if you're like me - more budget constrained than bound to strict originality. I drilled out the rivets holding the original rubbers, and had a friend of mine print up some replacements which are designed to accept a small flat head screw in place of the rivet. Blue would not have been my first choice but its what he had in a semi-flexible materials on hand and it doesn't show when the button is installed.

"Dear Volvo administrator, I'm writing in regards to the primitive, but semi-reliable, Volvo fuel priming system on our D13. Would it be cost feasible, in the 21st century, for you to install an electric lift pump which will prime the filters and lessen the chance some ill-advised person is going to fill the filters with a dirty fill can to avoid the 5 minutes of pumping it requires. All our domestic models have upgraded to electric and we have benefited greatly." "Dear valued customer, We have upgraded our newest model D13 with a fully reliable Bosch fuel primer and repositioned the primer in a strategic location to accent our new coolant/fuel heater exchanger head. A specialty tool, available locally at any hardware store, will assure improved access to the hand pump."

As I look out my window this morning, I probably should have bought this RM off Craigslist a couple years ago. Oh well, time to fire up the Massey.
