  4. We never did figure out what that flat exhaust tip is for on the yellow West Chester fire truck from October 9th.
  5. I don't have any ideas, but those tumble blasters look like a super-handy tool.
  6. Been a couple months shy of 10 years since I broke the brake system down on my B-673 and am now going back together with it. I've found these two types of fasteners and cannot remember or figure out where they were originally installed. The rusty hardware has a center roller, or spacer, and the blasted hardware with flats does not have any eccentric shape. Both styles of fasteners were in the bucket where hardware for this truck was kept. All the brake hardware is crusty but my tumble blasters help out with that. Any ideas? Thanks,
  7. I'll pm you price when I figure it out...later this week. Thanks
  8. Matt Cole, Commercial Carrier Journal (CCJ) / October 21, 2019 Just over a week into a strike by United Auto Workers members at five Mack Trucks facilities, Volvo Trucks says it is halting U.S. truck production at its New River Valley plant in Virginia as a result. John Mies, senior vice president of corporate communications for Volvo Trucks, says the company advised employees at the Dublin, Virginia, plant that it would stop production until the strike is resolved. As a result, approximately 3,000 employees are temporarily laid off, effective Monday, Oct. 21. “We don’t know how long the layoff will last, but we’re taking steps to keep our employees updated as we move forward,” Mies says. Even though the strike only affects Mack workers, Volvo powertrains are built at Mack’s Hagerstown, Maryland, facility. The strike began Oct. 12 when more than 3,500 UAW-represented workers employed at Mack Trucks plants in Allentown, Pennsylvania; Middletown, Pennsylvania; Hagerstown, Maryland; Baltimore, Maryland; and Jacksonville, Florida. UAW says the workers are striking for a number of issues, including pay, benefits, work schedules and more. Both Mies and UAW say negotiations between the parties restarted Oct. 21.
  9. "The company still beat its own 10% margin target during the third quarter with a return of 11%"
  10. Bloomberg / October 18, 2019 Volvo Group is preparing for more output cuts after forecasting a slump in truck deliveries next year in North America and Europe on weaker demand. The shares declined as much as 5%, the most in a year. Orders for heavy trucks slumped 45% from a year earlier, more than analysts had expected, and deepening a drop from the second quarter. For next year, Volvo expects the North American market to decline by 29% and Europe by 14%, after above-average demand in both regions. “The correction that we have anticipated is coming in our main markets,” CEO Martin Lundstedt said in Stockholm. “What we see for these markets is that they are coming down to a replacement level.” Truckmakers are preparing for leaner times as the truck cycle turns. Last week, the IMF made a fifth-straight reduction to its 2019 global economic forecast, citing trade tensions for its weakest view since 2009. As a result, Volvo’s customers are holding back on investments, Lundstedt said, foreshadowing “action” to maintain “good” profitability. "Volvo looks set for a sharp deterioration in 2020 profitability, in our view, following its weakest truck order intake since the 2009 recession in 3Q, predicting European and U.S. markets will fall by 15-30% next year,” said Johnson Imode, BI Industrials analyst. Production levels are being adjusted, but inherent operating leverage — with profit doubling in the 2016-19 cycle — demonstrates the challenge faced." The company still beat its own 10% margin target during the third quarter with a return of 11%, as Volvo factories clear significant backlog following a surge in orders over the last couple of years. This will help the CEO’s quest to defend profitability even as conditions weaken. Third-quarter adjusted operating profit rose to 10.9 billion Swedish kronor ($1.1 billion), beating analyst expectations.

  12. If nobody takes it, my SO absolutely adores it just from the one picture you’ve sent... might take a little bit to get the money together for it though... she’s never been this excited about a truck before, not to say she isn’t into the ‘hobby’ but this one just especially caught her eye this time I guess... it’d be fun to paint it a nice blue after we’ve sorted it out mechanically, luckily it seems like funding for our firetruck repairs are generally taken care of, so that would leave a project like this to fill that gap... we’ll see how far that goes I guess!
  13. Thank you Vlad That is exactly what I am chasing Paul
  14. No. It needs one left front tire, one right front tire, one outside front right tire on the tandems, one ... it does only need one headlight bulb.
  15. The fairings on the Pinnacle flair outward where yours are straight I believe so I don't think they will line up

  22. Sorry everyone, I stand corrected. I just assumed that in the condition shown it would be much more. After all if it only needs an alternator that's not much to repair.
  23. I have a 2000 Mack Vision with the 80" sleeper, was curious if anyone knew if the roof fairings made for the Pinnacle that add fuel efficiency would match up with mine. Curious if anyone has attempted such a thing, I have searched on the forum and couldn't find it anywhere. Thank you l.htm

  25. If you buy a sleeve from stemco all you need to do is bore a straight hole. The sleeve is straight on the od and tapered on the id. If you ream the axle at a taper where are you going to get an oversize pin.
