  2. Ok I just got my truck back it turned out to be a combination of problems changed the sensor on both diffs plus broken wires.
  3. yeah, a bunch of fancy rich people made up the name Australian Sheppard.. I think it's funny, not Australian at all.. Damn Yankee's.. They are great dog's, very affectionate, and protective.. and they will herd farm animals and children,,
  4. It came in a annual subscription for the "Weekly Times" which is farmers weekly news paper in Victoria and the lower half of New South Wales I'll ask Mum the name of the book, it's all about dog stories Mum replied Joey I had to Google a what a Australian Shepherd is, they are a American dog from California ?? A funny old world https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_Shepherd Kelpie are probably the most widely used sheep dog in Australia, they can scale vertical walls 15 feet high, I think record is nearer 17 feet They are long and lanky and tough, really tough like a blue cattle dog so are well suited to the Australian farm life Kelpies are on the cover of the book, Mum has a very old ex farm Kelpie that has fully retired inside Paul

  6. Bullheaded: Watch the Mahan Collection video that Hippy just posted.. There are a couple of pictures of the INCO Mack in it.. It has a yellow tank, where I thought it was wood colored..
  7. Hippy: Thank you much for posting this video.. I did not know how LARGE his collection was or that so much of it was outside... I understand the Mahan Foundation now has control of the Bickford Collection in Yarmouth Maine.. I hope someone makes a similar video of it..
  8. What book/magazine is that from? Looks like a good read! My dogs too fat to be a truck ornament lol
  9. Chihuahua for Mack ute/pick up Kelpie as pictured mid size/ vocational sized Surpose a Rottweiler for the heavy duty jobs Paul
  10. I believe that arrangement is called "modular" (that valve that you just keep adding to for more components to control withone air source) 👨‍🎓
  11. Is that the new hood ornament they'll be using on the macks made in Mexico ? Or will they be modeled after a chihuahua ?
  12. A mate of mine had a similar experience, but with radiator hoses popping off on his KW T90??? Anyway with the higher horsepower jobbies that are hauling road trains etc the radiator "sort of hangs off the front of the motor" his description This for heavy duty type of trucks and keeps things better aligned when every thing is twisting etc under load The bolts were broken or maybe fallen out, but I'm pretty sure he told me the bolts were busted This allowed enough misalignment under load for hoses to slowly work off the pipes A picture of said truck Dunno if this of any help, but it makes for a yarn Happy days Paul
  13. So many of you know that once again the Green Hornet 💚 is back in the shop. They're trying to figure out why it keeps blowing the "Boot" off. Well our good buddy who's a mechanic at our local Mack Dealer says they can get us a Boot, both tubes all assembled with the original pressed on bands. Also the new boots have a small groove I'm them that's supposed to help them stay on better by settling around the bumps or however you want to call them on the tubes. He also agreed that the charge air cooler may in fact be messed up or plugged. So hopefully soooon Boys she'll be fixed!!!
  14. Too bad your not closer to me. I build those engines in my personal shop, and there is a DEX 30 minutes from me.. i picked up an engine there 2 years ago for one of our BMT Brothers and built it for him.. BTW, that truck model is a CV -713..
  15. I’m in the heavynhighway business so I do have a bit of mechanical knowledge. I have a Cummins truck but this is still outside my realm. I have a good company here that would do the work. Found a motor with 128k miles for 9k. I have clean and clear title in my name
  16. Do you have much mechanical knowledge/support? You're missing a fair bit of peripheral parts on that engine. If it's a free truck that you have to invest a bit to get running I say go for it, but double check first that you can get a title for it and get it registered and legal for the road. Would be a pain to get the truck running then not be able register it because of paperwork issues.
  17. How many miles are on the truck? This truck should have an AI-350 motor I expect. Don't pick up an AC motor for it, it's a different bag of garbage emissions stuff. The AI motor you can delete the emissions stuff and create a much better breathing engine. Just look up "loggin dog dead dog remediation" on this forum.
  18. Now that you mention it, yeah I was half-wrong. We see the faulty diff lock switch on Meritors constantly. Customer lost a few diffs to it too, course that could have been driver error masked for warranty's sake, but I digress. We have seen a couple of diff lock switches faulting on Mack rears, but nowhere near as often (or as violent) as the Meritors. Could be that or wiring issue somewhere, unfortunately all I can do is help you guess!
  19. You really need to ascertain if the diff lock's are on or just the light. Side to side locks will be evident if you try to make a sharp turn, PDL (interaxle) will not be quite as evident. None the less I think it is highly unlikely the locks are on and you don't know it. Much more likely a switch or wire is the problem. You can take the air lines off the actuators and throw the switch one way and then the other, you should get air in one position and not in the other. Truck may need to be in "running down the road" (brakes released) condition for this test, so wheels blocked so it can't move. In the years I worked on stuff they could be air apply or air to release (reverse air) but I think everything today is air apply. (IHC and some Dana axles could have reverse air) I don't know about Mack axles. You will likely need wiring diagrams to track down how the light is lit and which wires to look at. Running around in the locked position will cause excessive tire wear and long term will damage the diff's so get to the bottom of it.
  20. Look for cracks around the top of the truck frame at the very front of the dump body. I've seen otherwise perfect used trucks that had cracked frames there. As the frame flexes going down the road the front of the dump box creates a pressure point on the frame.
