  1. Just so you know...my guilty pleasure is logging in each day to see where you're at! Seeing the BullDog perched up there brings a little tear to my eye.
  2. The fenders and bumper look AMAZING! ....and I'm not gonna lie, I love that people are still calling him 'Mater! LOL!
  3. I'm pretty sure THAT ALONE counts! Can't wait to hear the progress tomorrow. The dirt and grime and general yuck that was in the fuel filter and canister makes me wanna either cry or throw-up....or maybe both. Poor truck---he didn't deserve that.
  4. Did you find the (lighter) green paint that you wanted in 1 gallon containers?
  5. Oh my gosh! I LOVE seeing all the progress! You're doing an amazing job---so glad he found the perfect home! ~Barb
  6. Howdy all! Up for sale is 'Mater. With gracious help from members here we have identified this wonderful dump truck as a 1964 B-61 SX. It has a tandem axle and is a diesel. The "S" indicates the tandem axle and "X" indicates the extreme load capacity. The frame is in excellent condition as is the ceiling in the cab. There's a 2' oak piece in the frame that is also in excellent condition. Mater runs beautifully, he fires right up and is ready for a new home. I bought him as a work/yard truck and don't envision any more projects with him. Please, please do not buy him for scrap! This is not an 'on-road' truck at the moment but is worth restoring if that's your intended goal. (and I kind of hope it is). The serial number is 48339, I do not have a title. The body is in generally good shape, I believe someone started restoring him before I picked him up. I've had fluids changed and the piston rebuilt by a local heavy equipment mechanic but the piston does still leak. The drivers seat is in terrible condition (I use a sheet so the coils don't poke my butt!) Selling for $3,000.00. We are located in Chesterfield, Massachusetts. You can reach me at 413-six95-nine667. My name is Barb. Sorry for the re-post; the original buyer fell through. We'd like to move 'Mater before the snow really starts flying. IMG_2707.MOV
  7. Howdy Bigdogtrucker. It's a Mass truck right now but I don't know where it originally came from. This is the one you've been helping me with. (thank you again) Someone just called... I believe 'Mater has found a new home!!!! A big thank you to the new owner(s)....I can't wait to see the project unfold!

  9. Yipee! I needed to move him yesterday and he fires right up...I will miss him, but I hope someone will actually DO something fun with him! Thank you, again, for your help.
  10. Yay, yay, yay!!!! Thank you all for your help so far! Mater is a B61SX! Having an identity is a good first step! Here is the (interior) frame pics. I read that the 2" oak was for trucks 'meant' for rip rap?! Not sure if that's true but alas 'Mater does have the oak rail. Really, NOTHING in the way of rust on the frame. No flaking, no weirdness at all really. Some pics of the interior frame rails, serial number, etc.
  11. Name: 'Mater B61 SX (1956) Date Added: Owner: dblew dblew
  12. Thanks BigDogTrucker....I'll check the inside frame rails and see if I can get some decent pics of that (and the serial number while I'm at it). TozziWelding...about 25 minutes west of Northampton in a town called Chesterfield. Here's a video of the engine (running). IMG_2707.MOV
