Tires to fit a B81,or LJSWX

Recommended Posts

Im sure this was asked by me or mabe some one else on here.

11.00R24 inch rubber is there a tubless replacement?

Would it be a 12.00R24?

Found a pile of 11.00R24`s there less then a year old and almost new tread. So i guess they still make them. Just thought it might be easier to go tubless at this point ( needing all new tires).

Thanks Paul

I am not a tire expert....

OK got that out of the way.

My understanding is that there are no tubeless replacements for 24" rubber. You could get bias or radial tube type tires for 24".

22.5" rubber is the tubeless replacement for 20" tube type rubber.

24.5" rubber is the tubeless replacement for 22" tube type rubber.

If unsure of what rims and rubber you have, DO NOT MIX styles of tires and rims between tube type and tubeless when mounting.

The result of an incorrect match up will be SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH!!!

1200R24 is just a bit bigger than 1100R24. BOTH would be a tube type radial construction tire utilizing a multi piece rim assembly.

Working on getting the B81 Done at the moment. Need to get the crane mounted on that. But i got to get the tires on it and 2 springs fixed. ( wonder how on earth you can brake to rear main leaf springs).. Sold a truck and was hoping to get the money for in 3 weeks ago to get the tires for the B81.

Probably there aren't 24's of tubeless type.

They are of 24.5.

Anyway you need tubeless type rims/wheels to fit tybeless tyres.

Some weeks ago I learned a strange fact.

I dismounted wheels in a wheel shop and had to transport them home.

There were 2 of 11.00-24 and 1 of 11.00R24.5.

Both were from Mack's.

Putting them in a car trailor I wanted to save space.

I had the idea to lay 24.5 tyre just ower 24 rim keeping in my mind it must come on with a bit of freedom.

My surprize was too big when I took the problem putting it on - 24.5 tyre didn't lay around because it had always the same inside hole size as 24's outside!

I can say, 11R24.5 tyre has proper size to be fitted on 24 inch rim!

I looked tyre's sidewalls and noted they are different - 24's had the place around for the rim's wall and the 24.5 had it of a smaller higth.

So making a mix of 24's and 24.5 isn't a way.

Taking to account manufacturer's recommendation it is seriousely uncorrect and dangerous.

But how about just a fact that 24 inches and 24.5 inches are the SAME size ??
