  1. No guessing. It "is" the new Volvo highway model. "Can't beat'em, join'em I guess".....what does that mean? Mexico is a cesspool of corruption, crime and killing. One can not build a quality car or truck there. Note the Freightliners and Ford Mavericks produced there, examples of horrendous quality. Scania will not produce in Mexico......in Brazil they can produce a quality product, alike national jewel Embraer.
  2. Reuters / April 12, 2024 The United Auto Workers (UAW) said on Friday it is "extremely disappointed" with truck maker Volvo Group's decision to set up a new truck plant in Mexico, which the company said would help supplement its U.S. production. The union, in a letter published on Thursday, said it is looking into the contractual obligations for truck build rates at the Lehigh Valley Operations (LVO) plant and the potential legal ramifications from Volvo's Mexico decision. Volvo announced the new plant on Thursday and added that it would be investing an additional $80 million for future production at the LVO plant, having invested $73 million over the last five years. "This is a slap in the face for all of us," said UAW Local 677 shop chair Tim Hertzog, adding that the company informed the union about the plans 15 minutes before the announcement.

  5. The EPA is setting unachievable emission reduction targets, this time targeting heavy trucks which are responsible for an enormous portion of freight movement in the U.S. The technology needed to electrify the trucking industry is nowhere near ready, and this rule is setting us on a collision course for supply chain disasters. By increasing the cost of shipping with this rule, the Biden administration is once again demonstrating their lack of concern for American families who have been hit hard by inflation and the onslaught of rules and regulations that are making it increasingly difficult to do business in the U.S. American Energy Alliance President Thomas Pyle . https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13252607/Now-Biden-announces-toughest-emission-rules-trucks-buses-R-V-s-latest-climate-crackdown.html

  12. Well exactly, that is why shipping companies purchase insurance from Lloyd's of London. JB saying the US taxpayer will pay for reconstruction is silly.
  13. I believe it was a cyberattack. They took over the ships controls, steering it towards that bridge column for maximum effect and then shut off power, causing a loss of steering (hydraulic rudder control) and propulsion. Thus it was weaponized, transformed into a floating projectile. If you look at the ship's path, it was on course and then suddenly turned to the right.......directly for that bridge column.......and then power shut off. Now the Port of Baltimore* is effectively shut down, and it will take months to clear. Someone sent a message. They're attacking our water supply at this very moment, according to the White House in a letter to the state governors dated March 18th: https://www.epa.gov/system/files/documents/2024-03/epa-apnsa-letter-to-governors_03182024.pdf And the mainstream media hasn't seen the need to mention America's drinking water is under threat? * The Port of Baltimore is the busiest U.S. port for imports of cars and light trucks, plus agricultural and construction machinery. 52.3 million tons of foreign cargo passed through the port in 2023, that valued at $80 billion.
