Mid-Russia weekend trip or new vehicle in a garage.

Next morning I covered extra 60 km and met a guy I was going to meet.

He was a Mack owner. He was a Mack owner for last some years.

He is a former Mack owner now because we bought International for him.

But not so quick.

We gethered near the point where IH was for sale.

The paper work was done relatively quick.

IH of 2003 with Cat 14 under the hood was of triple price as I must to pay for Mack.

The guy had a problem to collect the value he need to.

In the end I gave him the Mack price plus extra 50% price as the debt.

He promised to give me it back during a year ... Let's see :idunno:

By the word, we discuss it some monthes and spent monthes also to find relatively good truck for the money.

Next 50 kilometers were done to the point of Mack parking.

Here are shots from that local road.

Note the bridge ower the big river of Don and the burned forest.

Oh, I'm sure Vlad meant the mosquitoes. You know, those little flying insect thingies :D. In Poland we have this joke - how do you tell a happy biker - he has dead insects sticking to his front teeth! Nice pictures, Vlad, have a nice day

Sorry guys, please wait, I'm finishing.

By the original plan I wanted to put my byke on the Mack rear end (try to put on) and go back home.

But... First I must to make papers. There were needs to make title marking in the office and make new enshurance.

The problem comes to make enshurance in that little town. They could, but..., but..., but...

That way I stoped to owerwrite the title because of lost of ex-owner enshurance.

He was ready to run Mack to my house himself and we came to that solution.

Taking to account strange way to fit the bike onto the truck's frame and my neither Mack driving skill.

Of course I tryed to drive my new toy about some 20 kilometers around that little city although by local road and without bad fixed bike on the back.

So had to back home and recieved Mack only last Wednesday.

Although successfull.

Note the outhouse near the bus stop, atomic power plant on the other side of the river and wasted collective farms.

Good pics Vlad, looks like better weather there than east texas. What are moscits? Is that russian for grasshoppers? randyp

Yes, Randyp, the weather is good now.

We haven't extremely hot but 20-27 celsias and a lot of sun.

Rains are 1-2 times aweek, it's maybe not excellent to relax near the lake although perfect to work. On Macks :)

My jacket was a full collection of mosquitoes (thanks Pavel), flys, grasshoppers and different kinds of night butterflys.

Great pictures!

The green R models look like ex. St. Germain trucking out of Canada.

JIm

I know only these trucks (4 were imported together in early 90's) are from some Canadian trucking company.

I saw other pictures of Macks with the same colors but don't know exsactly what the company.

So I'm in interest.

Vlad -

I loved the photos! Good shot of your Macks!

Did they shut down the collective farms?

You have a beautiful country.

Thank you Olive,

glad you like that all to see ;)

That farms were a product of Soviet economy, and worked mostly successfull.

During the "Perestroyka" financing was finished.

Privat farmers tryed to work but the government fixed terrible taxes and low trade in prices.

There were no credits that were promised and business came dead.

Now people who living agreecultural areas are mostly provide self consuming farming or working in some other places, on city constructions, transport e t.c.

Or just drinking Vodka.

I think your trucks are St. Germain out of Canada. Here is a link.

The colors set them apart from lots of companies around here. Hope you have fun with them.

Thank you for the link.

I saw the full-colored answer for the question that interested me during the years.

As you can see the truck(s) need repaint and I'm thinking about color scheme.

Can't say I like original view best of all but want to keep it at least in general.

So the company's webside is for me too useful.

Little addition to the story.

On my back ride I met two Macks.

There were blue MH and brown Vision.

Too sorry can't shoot them riding in a helmet with both hands steering.

It was a very good statistic seeing two Macks by the distance of 1200 km.

The problems we face today exist because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by the people who vote for a living.

The government can only "give" someone what they first take from another.

Beautiful Macks and country! The country side looks different than I imagined.
